  • "I apologise..." He muttered, an ashamed look on his face. He met Pheonix's eyes, looking into them, but found it hard to keep focussed on them. He wanted her to believe him. "I guess I was ignorant."
He dropped his axe, and it hit the muddy ground with a thud.

  • Phoenix nodded carefully, lightly sucking on the inside of her cheek.
"It's fine,"She stated carefully, but stopped speaking for the moment. Not everyone was on the same side as her, but what mattered was if they finally got their heads out of their asses and saw how screwed up things were.

  • "I understand if you don't want my help," Aulus told her, "but I'm Aulua Montaus."
He thought about offering a handshake, but decided that it was a bad idea. He just stood there, his fingers now dripping blood and staring at the ground at Pheonix's feet. He knew that she wouldn't trust him right away, but he was willing to work with them until someone did.

Clovia sat in he classroom looking over the map. She had half a minute left to make her tactical decision. She was practising her strategy and was close to defeating her teacher, when she saw what she could do. She closed her troops in around his, in a pincer formation, with them trapped and no where to retreat to.
    "I win." She announced.

  • "You know me, I figure, but Phoenix."She just watched him, watching the blood on his fingers. He was determined, she'd admit that. Maybe even a good ally.
"Can I trust you?"Phoenix questioned suddenly.

  • Aulus paused, could she trust him? There was really an obvious answer...
"Yes." He decided, meeting her eyes again. This time he continued to look into them. "You can trust me, as long as I can trust you."
He put his bleeding hand in his other one, and pressed down on the cuts on his fingers, trying to stop the blood flow.

  • Phoenix nodded again, her eyes narrowing. She bit on the insides of her cheeks, sucking them in, nodding to herself and looking at the trees.
"Very well, if you want to you can join us."He probably needs something for that hand... A spike of guilt sparked in her stomach, but Phoenix just ignored it.

  • (I'm guessing you meant 'Bullet' not 'Butler')

Lucien jumped away from the tree but the bullet still managed to leave a small graze on his left cheek. While jumping away from the bullet, Lucien looked around and saw Aulus dropping his axe. "Now seems like a good chance to retreat, this is a battle I won't be able to win" though Lucien as he fired lightning into the ground few metres away from him as he landed. The resulting impact set several surrounding trees on fire and launched a cloud of dust into the air.

  • "I can make almost any weapon." He told her, then he saw her looking at his hand. He smiled a little at her. "Don't worry about my hand, you can't even see the bone."
He reached down to pick up his axe when the trees around him burst into flame. He took a step back in surprise and looked over to the boy with lightning powers.

  • Phoenix had begun to nod, but the bright flash of light and heat gain her attention. she pursed her lips, watching the flames move back and forth, casting shadows over the darkened clearing.

"Good,"Phoenix decided a loud, ignoring the fire and returning her eyes to Aulus, "We could use that."

  • Aulus looked back at Pheonix, staring with disbelief.
"You're not concerned with the flaming trees around us?" He asked, gesturing to them. He knew that she had fire powers, but to not be concerned by a burning forest was just reckless. She seemed a little bit of a careless girl.

Clovia walked out of the classroom, books under her arm. She was meant to study for the next two days, but as if she was going to do that. She deposited the books on a table and headed for the exit. She wasn't going to let her twin brother have all the fun.

  • Phoenix shrugged again, turning back to the fire. She held out her hand, casually flicking her wrist. The flames compressed into a single stream-like mass of constantly flickering orange and yellow. The beam swirled around her fingers, before Phoenix managed to grab hold of it and it turned into s large orb that filled both her hands. The clearing suddenly seemed dark without the light.

  • "That's..." Aulus started, but was at a loss for words. It was amazing what she could do, but he had never met anyone with fire powers before, so he wasn't sure what was powerful and what wasn't. He looked around and she seemed to have stolen the light from around the clearing. He mentally made a note of it.

  • Phoenix stared at the fire. She could feel it blasting energy into her skin like a pulsing heartbeat. It made her skin tingle with strength, and it Phoenix began to struggle with breathing. She finally managed to press her hands together, stuffing out the large ball of fire. Phoenix heaved a deep breath of air, shivering. She shook her head, trying to clear the fog on the corners of her mind.
"Right."She straightened her back, sweeping her hair over her shoulder, "Are you with us or are you staying here?"It wasn't an entirely fair question. Black and white, seemingly. Be apart of the revolution or stick to the normal life. Aulus probably had a family that would miss him, whereas Phoenix couldn't care less if her family even gave her a thought. As their child, at least. As a problem, as a threat, now that was what she wanted.

    Jena Jerusnme

Jena smiled, "Thank you Phoenix" she said, Jena turned back to Lucien, "I see you won't be joining us" she said snapping her finger the bullet exploded into a very very disturbing high pitched sound. "That was a last sonic bullet, to bad. I'm sure Aulus could make me more if I showed him" she said smiling kindly at him.

  • Aulus thought. His family were big politicians. If he left, they would lose power, which might cause internal conflict and make the state of things even worse. But he needed to help.
"I have to stay with my family, at east for a little while. If you need help with anything, I'll be willing, and I'll send information if I can." He told her, picking up his axe, and strapping it to his back.

  • Phoenix crossed her arms, shivering just slightly. She nodded to Aulus,
"Alright, I understand. If you have anything, I'm sure you can find me out here. I walk around the city several times a week." Most didn't know what she looked like, so Phoenix was free to walk about as long as she didn't draw attention to herself. With that she smiled a goodbye to Aulus, turning back toward the trees and waving Jena with her.

  • Aulus waved, then started squeezing his bleeding hand. It wasn't bleeding as much anymore. Once he was sure that they couldn't see him, he started smiling, feeling relieved. He picked his way back to the city, thinking. He started to plan, but might need his sister. He looked down at his hand. It was still burning with pain, not unlike his cheek, if more painful, but it had almost stopped bleeding.

Clovia was stopped by the door. It was her handmaiden, a low. She wasn't paid much, but Clovia thought she was good, for her societal rank. She was bothering Clovia, reminding her about her suitors, and how she was meeting them after lunch. She sighed and pulled a face. She didn't really like any of them, they were all so boring.

  • Phoenix looked at Jena carefully out of the corner of her eye,"You could have gotten yourself killed. The Arisen needs all of it's members, Jena."

  • Camille waited till they were just almost out of site. She climbed out of the tree, grabbed the herb she needed, and silently followed after Pheonix.
