  • PROLOGUE

A black cloaked figure appeared as if out of nowhere, swiftly running through the forest. Jumping over brambles, avoiding fallen trees, jumping across small brooks. She lay a book out and looked around. She opened a cabinet, made in a pine tree and disguised safely. She put the book in there, closed it shut, and ran as fast as lightning.

    CHAPTER ONE

    "Harkins, you come back here!"
Sumitra Harkins ran through the woods, fast as lightning, quick as a cheetah who had coffee. The person who shouted after her was none other than Candice, the Queen of Mean. She turned around the corner into an unexplored part of the woods. She sat under a pine tree, pulling her Yankees cap over her face, trying to get some shade. The sun was baking Earth to a crisp. But its only JUNE! Sumitra thought, sweating.

Evening was here, and Sumitra set out to that part of the woods that she had just found. She came there, crickets chirping, fireflies buzzing about. Everything looked so nice at night.

By accident, she banged her head against a metal thing on the tree. She let out a yelp. She felt around, then felt a small knob, like a doorknob. She turned it, and a cabinet opened, old and dusty. She took a book out of the cabinet, shut it, and flipped through it. She found a picture of a beautiful valley, lush and full of trees, and ran her fingers across it.

Suddenly, the whole world dissolved around her, and Sumitra felt like she was being sucked through a whirlpool, a vortex.

She appeared high above the valley with a parachute. Hallucination. she said worriedly. I'm asleep.
