  • Lucinda flew down on Asendare. She surveyed the soon to be captains. "All right I have brought the eggs each of you pleas come foreword to clam them. They should be hatching in just a little bit. For you that have never witnessed a hatching When the hatchling breaks through the shell you must ask it if it has a name. It will most likely say no and then you will give it one. Then you harness the dragon before feeding it. Any questions?" Lucinda said as she dismounted and passed out harnesses.

  • Zoran shifted nervously in line, nodding. He couldn't resist another look down the row of his more than a little intimidating fellows. They all seemed so tall and straight-faced. Too serious. He already knew which egg he would pick. He just hoped no one else got their first. Zoran wasn't likely to win a contest of strength. But he grasped the harness handed to him eagerly, running his hand along the smooth leather. This could very well be the best day of his life; it could also be the worst.

  • "Lets start with Zoran seance you seem to be excited." Lucinda said with a smile. "Just come on up here and clam the egg you want. Think about your choice this will be your only chance."

  • Raven held the harness to her side, looking at all of the other kids there. It surprised her at how many were there. When Zoran was called up, she couldn't help but smile the slightest bit. Zoran looked so timid and scared. It almost mirrored what Ravne was feeling inside, though she would never let it show.

  • Zoran stepped forward without hesitation, and started to reach for the Thorny Death egg. It's royal blue surface looked smooth and shiny, with light swirls of magenta here and there. But the soon-to-be captain hesitated for a moment, unsure. He'd done lots of reading on the various types of dragons; Thorny death seemed like the one he wanted. But what if the dragonet hatchling wouldn't let him saddle it? What if the dragonet turned out to be not the right one? What if- Oh, to heck with the 'what if's.
Zoran's hands grasped the blue and purple egg, gently lifting it off the table. It was surprisingly heavy and textured, feeling nothing like it looked. And the egg seemed to pulse gently in his hands. Almost like a heartbeat. The boy felt an immediate protective urge over the unhatched dragon in his hands, and hugged the egg to his chest as he stepped back in line.

  • "Thorny Death good choice. Fast and poisonous very effective at long range and fairly good in close combat. Next Raven pleas come foreword and choose your egg." Lucinda said as she crossed Thorny Death of her list.

Nyra held her harness tightly. She wasn't afraid or nervous , okay she was nervous but not afraid. As Nyra patiently waioted in line , she turned her head and spotted Alex , her twin brother. He smiled and shot her a thumbs up. Nyra smiled , although it was barely noticable.

Alex grinned as he was handed his harness , everyone here seemed nervous , he was just plain excited. Alex glanced at his sister and shot her a thumbs up. A small , barely noticably smile graced her lips. Alex grinned , at least he made his sister smile.

  • Jaden's eyes (I will most likely refer to him as Jet) dart around taking in the scenery of the area. He noticed two captains smiling at each other looked at the features and assumes they're brother and sister, he looks at The boy, Zoran was his name, and noticed he seemed more of the commander type guy

  • Raven took a deep breath, then let it out. She was nervous, but let no emotion show on her features. As she stepped froward, only one egg called to her. It was a black and silver, almost white, egg. The egg had what looked like plating on certain parts of it and the start of a few spikes. She instantly picked it up, not even paying attention to the other eggs. As she stepped back in line, she examined the egg closely. It was beautiful, and she loved it instantly.

  • Zoran, who had been gently examining his egg, watched briefly as another captain- Raven had been her name- stepped forwards to claim an egg. She chose a silvery-white one, with black on it too. It was unfamiliar, and he couldn't read her face. Did this Raven girl feel the same connection to her egg as he felt to his? It was certainly a nice one, but could she feel the pulse? What if Zoran should've chosen the egg she did? What if his egg wasn't good enough? Her's certainly seemed bigger. He didn't know, but his egg seemed to pulse harder in his hands, as if sensing his worry and comforting it. I may be small, but I'm the one for you. Never judge a book by it's cover.

  • The hatchings will happen at random during the choosing and after. :)

"Midnight Spark good choice. It has powerful blinding bio-luminescence very good in close combat but not as effective from a distance. Next is Nyra come up and choose." Lucinda said as she checked Midnight spark off her list. Then suddenly the Thorny death egg began to rock violently and cracks appeared in the shell. Tiny then a piece of the shell was broken off as a spiky sinewy tail thrust it's way out. It was followed by a royal blue head with small magenta spikes. The tiny hatchling shook of the rest of the shell and jumped to the ground looking around.

  • Zoran let out a surprised exclamation, just barely managing to now drop the egg. He set the hatchling on the ground, where it looked around curiously. The rest of the choosing forgotten, he crouched down to look at it. The hatchling stared back, bright blue eyes shining. "Hello." He tentatively touched her head, for Zoran was sure the hatchling was a girl. She let out a small squeak, retreating at first but then pressing forwards. She's so small. But wow! The boy had completely forgotten about all his instructions on what to do once the egg hatched. He had a dragon!

  • "Quickly as it what is't name is and when it tells you it doesn't have one name it. Then harness it or it may fly away to find food." Lucinda said as she walked towards the pair.

  • [I don't know if dragons can talk so....This'll work]

Zoran, who had been examining the hatching's small but powerful-looking wings, jumped slightly at Lucinda's voice. "Right, right. I knew that." He quickly composed himself, unable to stop a wide grin from spreading across his face. The captain faced the small hatchling, kneeling. "Do you have a name?"
She tilted her head, then shook it violently. "No? That's okay. I can give you one." Zoran realized he had no clue what he wanted to name this dragonet; the question had never crossed his mind until now. He looked at her delicate but strong face, sharp teeth, barely visible. Her powerful wings and tail, looking like she could fly away at any moment. And, of course, her sharp magenta spikes. Though, the hatchling was rather small compared to what he'd read. Then the perfect name popped into his head, and Zoran smiled, gently slipping the tiny harness over her head and chest. "There we go. Hope you like it, Freefall."

  • OOC: dragon can talk :)

IC: "Nice name." Lucinda said as Asendare put his head close to them. "A very good name indeed." He agreed in his deep gruff voice. "I will get the little one something to eat while you get the harness on."

Nyra quickly stepped towards the eggs and started to check out each one. She stopped suddenly at the last oone , a small black egg with violet stripes running down from top to bottom. Slowly , Nyra reached towards it , and finally grabbed the egg. It felt warm in her hands and rocked slighty when Nyra took a step backwards.

  • Lucinda looked over at Nyra. "Twilight Harbinger good choice. They are best at close combat but not very good at long range fighting. Now lets have your brother come and choose next." She said as she crossed Twilight Harbinger of the list.

Nyra smiled and polity nodded before she walked back in line. She held her new egg close , already feeling an urge to protect the unborn dragonet.

Alex grinned as he came up and inspected all the eggs. Alex looked for a long time before he stopped at a large , dark orange egg with some specks of yellow. Alex inspected it closer and the egg suddenly moved , almost like it was saying hi. The grin on Alex face couldn't get any larger as he picked up the large egg.

  • "The Regal Flame very nice. They fare very good at close combat and fairly good at long range fighting. Now let's have Jaden come an pick an egg. " Lucinda said as she crossed Regal flame of her list.

  • Zoran sat cross-legged on the ground, attempting to fit Freefall's harness over her shoulders. The dragonet wasn't very enthusiastic, and kept wriggling away. "Come here- no!" With a frustrated grunt, he finally managed to snap the harness on. Though a little large, it fit over Freefall's chest and shoulders, firmly securing her to the lead in his hand. "See, that wasn't so bad." He grinned as she nosed his shoulder, laughing a bit as the hatchling climbed up. "Geez, D.F. You're heavy!" Realizing he was interrupting a rather solemn ceremony, Zoran quickly stood back up, Freefall on his shoulders.
