the name wrang through the air, a shrill cry that could be heard as you were pulled from the crashing waves of the ocean. you felt your shuddering, soaked form be dragged across the burning sands, and finally you were laid down gently, out of reach from the waters that had ensnared you in their deadly grasp. your lungs flutter as you gasp and fight for breath, and the voices around you blur and meld into simple background noise. you grunt, still coughing up water, and attempt to stand, but you collapse on the ground again. you're wheezing now, forced to close your eyes from the fits that rack your body. suddenly, times seems to slow down, and you grow still, save the slow rise and fall of your flank. a few more fighting breaths, a few moments of panic and then you're released. peace and silence. it was over.
you awake to the peaceful sound of the ocean crashing upon the beach. you could tell the shore was about a mile away. you sit up with a yawn, blinking, confusion clouding your eyes. where were you? or, the more important question .. who were you? you shake your head; that's when the memories come back. someone calls out a name, you're on a beach, you're dying .. you're dead. it all happened so fast .. had you been reincarnated? you turned around, and that's when you noticed it. your tail. this was impossible. you were a cat after all, werent you? but there it was, glistening in the sunlight - a gray dolphin's tail, with a fin on your back to match. you got to your paws shakily, telling yourself this was m a dream, you needed to be wake up. but you were feeling so dry .. you shook your head and turned in the direction of the ocean.
jackson hummed a tune to himself as he padded along, dismissing his only memories with a flick of his long gray tail. the tuxedo tom knew he should've been grateful he knew basic things, like his name, and his to hunt, and what a clan was, but he just wished he knew more about his past life. for example .. was he part fish before he died? or what had caused him to be that way? he scowled and shook his head. he had to keep his mind on the insignia. after a week's contemplation, he'd decided to join one, despite his .. fishy -pun intended- appearance. his sea green eyes brightened; the insignian scent was strong in that particular spot; the border. jackson paused there, glancing around with a casual smirk on his face. "h'lo?" he called, nose twitching.
