The radiant swords of sunlight filtered lazily through the thick canopies of the trees that sheltered the hollow, streaming through the sparse, yet porous layer of vegetation and illuminating the glade below. Before a particular dwelling, in which expecting females were stored, lay the outstretched, bulging frame of a dainty, pale grey-and-white patterned femme. Her abdomen was swollen with unborn children, and a distant look of longing was apparent on her youthful face. While she had been ecstatic when Thornclaw had proposed a mateship between them, which she greedily agreed to, and even when she had discovered the depth of her pregnancy, the young warrior still could not shake her loyalty to her position, and call to preform the duties required of a warrior. Still, in her state, what could she do? Her mate forced her to adjourn to the nursery, and wait until their kittens were at least safely delivered into the waken world before pulling off any stunt for reintroduction to hunting or patrolling. Sighing contemptly, the queen rested her head on the ground and allowed her soft emerald gaze to drift toward the apprentices den, where a small, dark grey apprentice named Dewpaw was emerging from. While he was under Jayfeather in the medicine den, the young tom often visited his siblings in the mornings, even at times as early as this, just after dawn broke the horizon. Raising her cranium from its rest upon the earth, the queen called over the apprentice, who looked rather shocked initially, but soon scampered over to the pregnant feline.

"My legs have been rather sore, lately," she gently reported to him, stiffly swinging a hind leg to emphasize her point. "Would you mind letting your mentor know to see if he has anything for it?"

Dewpaw's round, deep amber eyes examined the limb, before he nodded and meowed, "I don't think it's anything serious- probably just adjusting to the additional weight of your litter. But I'll let him know." With that, the young cat was off, Hazeltail staring after him, ears giving the slightest flicker before her head was once again upon the ground, and the bored flicks of her tail tip the only sign of life from the round-bellied queen.

Dewpaw's lids cracked slothfully open, reluctant and defiant, even as the blazing sunlight burned through the protective flaps of skin. Eventually submitting, after soon discovering slumber was now a foreign thing, the small young tomcat raised his skull off his paws and split his jowls in a mighty yawn. Lips curled back to display two rows of sharp fangs he would probably only ever put to use clipping flowers from their stems, before the jaws met again, and sleepy amber eyes adjusted to the change in time and lighting. The apprentice's coat smelled strongly of the herbs his life revolved around, and he could taste some marigold juice lingering on his fur as he groomed, for yesterday, before he had scarfed down supper with his litter-mates and headed to bed, he had been working with switching the old leaves out for new. Pushing to his paws once he felt his pelt presentably, Dewpaw padded out of the den, pausing once to glance over his shoulder, to see if his mentor were still asleep.

Soft paws made little sound, as the small apprentice meandered to the den where his siblings lay slumbering. It was an invariable chore for him- while he enjoyed working as a medicine apprentice, he couldn't help but miss the comforting presences of his brother and sister. Poking his head in, Dewpaw slipped inside, feline opticals piercing the thick shadows for the pale shapes of Snowpaw and Amberpaw. He could see them, snoozing away, curled up pressed against one another as if no other cat existed in the den. He smiled warmly at their sleeping shapes, before prowling forwards and placing a firm, yet gentle paw on each of their heads. Applying harmless pressure, but pressure nonetheless, Dewpaw hoped to arouse them from their sleeping, as he usually did after he woke up.

"You guys should offer up for Dawn Patrol," he suggested, unsure if they were paying attention to him or not, but not particularly bothering. "You'll be recognized for your warrior worth quicker that way." Despite the fact that the whole trio had well of a way to go until consideration of their graduation was even once pondered, Dewpaw liked to encourage them, for most apprentices were impatient for their warrior ceremonies. Pulling away from them, the tomcat slipped outside, and in the time cat could blink, the voice of a queen called him over.

"Dewpaw!" She cooed, beckoning the apprentice over with her tail. "My legs have been rather sore as of late, do you mind telling your mentor and seeing if he has anything?"

Amber eyes examined her limbs, before he nodded obligingly. "I doubt it's anything serious- probably just your body adjusting to the added weight of your kits- but I'll ask him." And with that, he was off, leaving the queen to her sun bathing.

And so, he returned to the den where he and Jayfeather spent their days, and peered around to see if the experienced tomcat was present.

+Ooc: Does anybody play Jayfeather yet?+

    ooc. hi ♡Nama!♡!

ic. Foxleap woke in the warriors den and growled softly. He stretched his two front paws in front of him, sheathing and unsheathing his claws. Then, standing up, he wandering out of the warriors den and looked round the sort of abandoned camp. He remembered his apprentice Snowpaw and knew he was going to have to take her out hunting before eating and get some fresh kill for the elders as well. He padded towards the apprentice den when he heard a noise coming from the medicine den. Dewpaw was just entering and was peering round the entrance of the den into the herby smell beyond. Foxleap signed and continued to the apprentice den.

  • Dovewing laid in the den on her soft moss nest and snore softly and she moved a little she heard a like noise outside but paid no attention to it she was not gonna get out of her nest for a while and she didnt mind

Featherkit was running around the camp laughing she was chasing a butterfly" Hehe come back I just wanna play!"she said and kept chasing after it but she bumped into a rock

  • Foxleap

ooc. sorry Lιвєятєα, didn't see your question. no, jayfeather isn't being played by anyone yet.

ic. Foxleap looked round when he heard a small thump coming from a rock. He turned and saw Featherkit looking up at a butterfly above her head. He giggled softly, kits were funny sometimes even if they didn't mean it. Cinderheart's kits were very cute and they gave the clan a lift after some cats had died like Sandstorm. He signed and sat down, watching the kit play with the butterfly.

  • Featherkit rubbed a paw on her head and she giggled and went back to chasing the butterfly and then she couldn't see it anymore" Hey where'd you go?"she said not noticing that the butterfly was on her head making her look like she had a big bow on her head

    ooc.

ic. Foxleap stifled a laugh as he saw the small she cat with a butterfly on her head. He reached his paw out and carefully knocked the butterfly of Featherkit's head so she could continue her chasing. Then he turned and padded towards the camp entrance, he was going to get some fresh kill for the cats of his clan. Especially Hazeltail because she needed it the most if she was going to be strong enough for her birth. He paused at the edge of camp, then ducked down and sprinted through the forest.

The queen's gaze cautiously lingered on Featherkit, as the young she-cat pranced around, intrigued by the dainty insect that was using all its grace to escape the kitten's pestering. She smiled warmly, imagining the pride and ferocity that Cinderheart must have felt for her child. She wondered how she would feel, after her own litter was delivered. She could ponder long, however, for as the kitten collided with the stone, Hazeltail raised her head alertly, but eased once she realized that Featherkit was generally unharmed. She watched as Foxleap briefly engaged in the young cat, before parting for the entrance of the Clan. She hoped he would bring back something fresh for a meal. Ever since these kittens were upon her, her appetite had been erratic and unsatisfied. She was, after all, feeding more then one mouth.

Rolling to her abdomen, the young queen rose to her paws and gave her physique a gentle shake. She would not spend the morning lazing away. Maybe she would take a stroll later, and perhaps her mate might even tag along, though she predicted he'd be busy with duties throughout the day. He was a loyal and tenacious warrior- two of the things she admired about him.

Stretching out her limbs, Hazeltail glanced around, wondering what to do with herself. Certainly, she could not spend the day lounging. She glanced over her shoulder, towards the nursery, pondering on the possibility of Cinderheart still slumbered. If she did, the small gray-and-white queen would not wake her- the mother probably needed as much shut eye as she could snatch. Otherwise, she would have engaged conversation with the queen, and ask her how she spent her time, while she was still expecting.

Assuming the lack of response was in his mentor's absence, the apprentice turned his attention to the stores lining the walls. The darkness was thick, and he growled a swear under his breath, as he felt his paw brush the small pod of leaves carrying poppy seeds, spilling two of them. While he was not experienced, he was not new, either- the apprentice was familiar and amiable with the basics. He did not think it necessary to treat her with herbs, but as to not upset the Queen by keeping her waiting, he would simply say that his words came from Jayfeather.

Before that, however, he would need to reorganize these splayed poppy seeds.

ic. Slowly to a trot then to stand-still and felt the wind ruffle his fur. Then Foxleap sniffed the air and there! A faint blackbird smell. He looked around but did not see the bird. Suddenly he heard a ruffle of feathers and looked up into the branches of the trees, and there stood the blackbird. It was looking down at him with beady eyes. Foxleap gathered his haunches together and sprang. The bird cawed and flew of the branch. This was what Foxleap was anticipating because the bird had become lower. He sprang again and caught the birds wing, bringing down to the ground. Foxleap crouched down and gave it the killing bite. He stood up proudly and looked at the dead bird at his feet.

  • Featherkit laughed when she saw the butterfly and once again she ran after it" Why are you so colorful and able to fly like that I wish I could fly that would be awesome!"she said while she was chasing the butterfly but she got tired and stopped and she left the butterfly leave" Bye! I hope I'll see you again!"she called after it
