  • Ocarin padded into the room, yawning widely. She curled up on her favorite rug and twitched her ears, listening for anyone else. She couldn't sleep, though her tired muscles couldn't stand another wander around the mansion. She swatted lazily at a piece of fuzz that had blown by her on the slight breeze that drafted through the room. She sighed, "Hello...?" She called, enjoying the sound of her voice echoing around her. She called out again, this time hoping for an answer. "Is anyone there?" Her voice was soft, not loud enough to wake anyone that might have been sleeping though loud enough for attentive ears to hear.

  • A silver tabby slipped out of the shadows. "I am the only one here," the voice cooed. "My name is Fainne. What's yours?" The small she-cat asked. Fainne was a to-be, apprentice, or whatever they called them here.

  • Ocarin turned to face the silver tabby. She perked her ears and listened to the soft voice that replied. "My name is Ocarin, I'm a trainee here." She gave Fainne a friendly smile. Her tail swished behind her playfully. She hoped Fainne was up for a game.

  • Ocarin smiled, turning to grab a moss ball. She grabbed it with one paw and sent it flying off towards Fainne. "Think fast!" She giggled, watching the moss ball soar across the room.

  • Fainne saw the moss ball being flung across the room. The silver tabby leaped up into the air, hooking it with her claws. She flung it back to Ocarin. "This is so fun!" Fainne squeaked

  • The ball of moss had slipped her grasp and had almost hit the floor. She dove for it, flicking it up into the air with her nose so it could be tossed back to her playmate. "I know! I love mossballs!" She replied, her voice was high-pitched with excitement. She sounded almost like a kit.

  • Ocarin jumped up, catching the ball in her claws. She brought it down and, instead of tossing it, she rolled it towards Fainne.

  • "Thanks!" She said, swishing her tail happily. She crouched as the moss came back to her. She swatted it back over to Fainne with a swift flick of her paw.

  • Ocarin caught the ball and put her paws back down on the ground stiffly. She stretched out her shoulders and turned her head to Fainne. "My shoulders are getting sore...Wanna play something else?" She suggested.

  • Ocarin had an idea, she darted over to Fainne and prodded her shoulder, "You're "it"! She laughed then darted away under a chair near the corner of the room.

  • Ocarin laughed and ran out from behind the chair. Her sleek pelt glimmered in the dim light of the room as she darted in and out of the looming shadows that fell across the room.
