MoonFreeze padded back into camp from dawn patrol, looking very tired. She headed towards the warriors den to rest. -
Shadowflight, who was just getting out to hunt, touched her ear as she passed. "Have a good rest," he murmured as he walked past her. "I'll catch you a nice plump thrush."

MoonFreeze was too tired to do anything but flick her tail at his ear for thanks and smile at him. She rather liked ShadowFlight, but wasn't quite sure how to tell him. She curled up in her nest and instantly fell asleep.

Shadowflight went outside, feeling happy, and smelled the air. Soon, his attention paid was rewarded by catching not only the promised thrush, but also 2 mice and a vole. He almost caught a blackbird, but it was alerted by him cracking a stick by mistake. The patrol returned and her put his mice and vole down, carrying the thrush to the warriors den and putting it in front of Moonfreeze for when she woke up.

Meanwhile, MoonFreeze was dreaming about her past. She twitched, whimpering.
"Daddy, don't hurt me!" she cried, tearing up. Her father growled, throwing her into the cave wall. "Ow!" She yelped. "Shut up, mouse brain!" He snarled, ripping some fur off of her chest. -
Shadowflight was about to leave, but then heard Moonfreeze whimper. He turned back to her and nosed her awake, aware that she was most likely having a nightmare. "Moonfreeze? Moonfreeze, are you alright?" He asked her, genuinely worried.

"Go away, you monster!" She wailed, flailing her legs. "You need to learn to SHUT UP!" He snapped. He scored his long claws down her face, making her bleed out. His fangs plunged into her throat..........and she woke up, gasping, and clinging to someone's tail.

"It's all right, everything's fine, you can let go of my tail," Shadowflight purred. He almost added, but managed to keep back I'm here, I'll protect you.

MoonFreeze let go of his tail, looking up at him. "That wasn't even a nap. Now I won't be able to sleep!" She whined, sounding almost like a kit.

"It's all right. If you can't sleep tonight, we can go for a walk," he promised, but then changed the subject. "Come on, eat," he mewed gently, nosing the thrush towards Moonfreeze.
