    the "classes" so to speak should be split into groups of like five to eight, just so that we don't potentially have thirty-odd people in a thread.

    also, i was looking at ideas for the livestreaming our fancypost things, and the free version of join me only can have ten watchers. this could be fine as we potentially won't have tons of people watching.


    livestream doesn't seem to work as i don't think it has screen-recording in it.


    twitch won't work- it's gaming exclusive.


    screenleap is another one that is free for only eight viewers. join me would work better than this.

    personally, i kind of favor join me.
    however, screenleap has a presenter swap- i could pass it to you or vice versa. on the other hand, we can only stream for an hour a day with screenleap. i don't think there's a limit on join me, unless it's eight hours.

    Mm, I was thinking that we'd have certain limited periods of time for people to sign up, and that people who sign up would either be sorted into the different classes and it wouldn't matter much how many were in each class, because there wouldn't be a huge chance of people just continually adding up. I was thinking three or four classes or so, like, "Beginner," "Intermediate," and "Advanced." Beginners would naturally be like our largest class, and possibly the most brain-damaging to teach, at least for me. Although I have developed excellent mistake-decoding skills for fancypost templates. Also, I would like this to be a free school, I don't know about you. Which also brings me to the point of staff. If we only have three or four classes, you and I could easily cover them, but if it becomes necessary to start adding classes and doing one-on-one tutoring, you and I would easily find ourselves looking for help, with Free Dreams going as well. So if we decide we'll want help, what kind of staff would we look for, in terms of skill level and professional manners, and would we want to pay them?


    I could have sworn that Livestream did screen-recording. o3o I can't download it now because I'm on my dad's laptop, so join.me might end up being our only option, but that just befuddles me. And no, I didn't think that audio would be a problem, but I do believe join.me allows the presenter to pass control of their computer(like, mouse and stuff), off to someone who's watching, it's actually really cool, and it would let both of us operate the same thing together. And since join.me creates a temporary URL for every presentation, it would work well for my dad's laptop situation if you were the original presenter.

    [sup]we have not only completely conflicting styles but conflicting codes as well- i use the alternate way of coding as compared to you. so there'd need to be two of each class, one for each of us? if people sign up for a beginner class, we could split the total number of beginners in half, or something like that, and so forth. if it's a ridiculous amount of people, we could pm some fancyposter we know is active and good and ask them to help out. we could ask what they want to be payed, too.


    i'm cool with being the original presenter, but i'm almost certain that join me doesn't have the presenter-switch thing, at least on the free version. we can play around with it a few days before we announce the event if necessary.

    Okay, how does this sound- you can cover beginners and intermediates, but we'll also have like a beginners (advanced) and an intermediates (advanced) kind of thing that I can run, and we'll say that it's more challenging to learn, especially for people who have already kind of gotten the hang of coding, and I'll run that advanced course. We can get extra teachers if we need to or if you're not comfortable doing that by yourself, but we can just get rid of the third class and call beginners phase 1 students and intermediates phase 2 students, and we put up as many phase 1 and 2 classes as we need to.

    Phase 1 is beginners, and Phase 2 is Intermediates. I was thinking that like we could sort people when they sign up, but because I don't want to interfere with what you teach them, I think it would be best to say that once a person is in one course, they stay there until they finish the school, and it would probably also be best to put a smaller limit on my advanced class than the regular classes. And what I mean by interfering is that considering hwo different our styles of coding are, it might be difficult for someone who has already gone through the regular course to suddenly be told to erase most things that you instruct them on from their brains, because I kind of intended my course to mirror yours, sort of, in like teaching the basics of coding, color schemes, etc., except mine would just be in a more advanced style of coding.

    So, now that we've got the system set up, let's talk school names, first posts, and curriculums.


    Naming the school shouldn't be too much of a challenge, so we can probably do that later. As for the first post of the sign-up thread, what should it include? I think it at least needs to have an introduction, a form for signing up, a list of students in their classes, and something to describe the courses, and rules, too, obviously. I'm not sure what else, though. As for curriculums, they will obviously vary from phase 1 to phase 2. What's your opinion on teaching beginners how to code? What do you normally start with?

    we could have lessons /drooling/


    with beginners i start out with assessing the skills they already possess, then i move to the main codes- hex codes, background, border, and images. then height + width, overflow, and tables. that stuff, to me, is beginner work. along the way i try to make some lessons very technical, like actually defining the codes, not just teaching how to use them. style lessons start after overflow, and then overflow and tables are long lessons, to encompass just how much stuff is in them.
