Will finds himself slightly shocked that Mycroft actually reacts, and a loud purr erupts from his throat. Bonding with his little baby is something that he'd do everyday if he could. But with recent events with Bloodclan's attacks he hasn't had the time. Not to mention that Mycroft would probably be off with a mentor soon, so he'd be quite busy with that.

He's glad Will didn't ask if he knows what he wants, because Mycroft would definitely dislike that. "I would want them skilled, but I do not wish for a brutish mentor. Intellect is appreciated. I don't mind a difficult teaching regime so long as I am not punished for what I speak." It's only inevitable that he ticks them off; family members are really the only ones he at least tries to get along with.
