Erwin will ignore most students if they don't call him Fowler.
He had the bad luck to be dubbed as 'bird-man' in his earlier years. He considers this title an unoriginal and silly alias. Another name he has earned himself, and is much more satisfied with, is 'blau Dieb'.

Avian Empathy
Erwin harbors a special link with birds. His soul and mind can intertwine with theirs, seeping in and melding together. His and the animals' thoughts are shared as well as senses. This means that he can see what the bird sees, hear and smells.

Since most birds are wired to only think of basic necessities such as food and shelter, they barely have any thoughts worth paying attention to, though Parrots and canaries are a different story. unaffected by the peculiar presence of another being in their head, they don't end up picking up human-like behaviors; on the other hand, Erwin tends to get insane cravings for seeds and fruit after forming a bond. These bonds can be formed instantaneously, taking no more than a few second and is pretty much permanent until he relinquishes his mental grasp on the bird or when either one of them dies.

Shifting
Erwin's body can turn into not one but a flock of birds. The species of avian he turns into is unknown. If anything, they look more like a shadow apparition of a bird. In this form he can see many things at the same time. He has repeatedly tried to describe the sensation of having more than one body to other people but its simply something that can't be put down in words. Although, during this state, he is still vulnerable to attacks, perhaps even more than in his human form.

Intoxication
Now, this power I'm about to mention is the most recent he's earned. Erwin didn't gain it until he lost most of his eyesight, thus being completely oblivious to it.
His skin is toxic. Like the pitohui bird, anyone who touches him(skin on skin contact) will experience numbness in their limbs and a tingly sensation.

Former victims have been known to become calm and extremely detached much like a person high on a drug. Depending on how long the contact has been made, it generally wears off after an hour. There are no damaging side effects caused by this Power other than a little nausea. Some have even claimed to feel euphoria whilst in their poisoned state.

Personality:
Erwin's persona is a mixture of traits that resemble the behavior of certain bird species.
(I did it differently to what most people would do, hope its okay. It was the only way to keep my muse going. haha.)

[Bowerbird]
These birds are well known for their interesting behavior of decorating their nests with blue flowers. Erwin is obsessed with every shade of blue. Its literally built within his genes to collect things of that colour. His dorm is lavished in it as if the ocean and the sky has clashed together and then settled, taking the form as ornaments in the man's room. If he starts to show off around a particular person you can be sure that Erwin thinks highly of them and considers that person a close friend or potential love interest. Its difficult to tell what his intentions are, its like predicting the precise distance a star is from earth. Consider it a compliment if he tries to impress you, even if it does seem a lot like he's trying to be intimidating.
This guy is an encyclopedia of poems and historical songs. He likes to quote or sing them constantly.

[Canary]
Erwin likes to talk about many things. As vain as it is, he also likes the sound of his voice. Although, people who have heard him speak would full-heartedly agree. That is, so long as they encounter him when he has had a good nights rest. You see, the way he speaks is heavily influenced by his mood. If he's exhausted, he's likely to grumble at people and chuck in a couple curses. He has been known to emit peculiar seagull noises or shriek like a hawk when taken by surprised. As well as that, he is an extremely good whistler. He's capable of remembering many things, rarely forgetting the smallest of details. He has an eye, or should I say ear, for music and is one tough cookie to impress in this subject due to having an extremely fussy musical taste. Its hard to lie to someone as observant as him too. Whenever he knows something another person does not, he tends to get this smug sneer on his face and proceeds to give extremely vague hints to the little tid-bit of information to annoy them.

[Kea]
Clever is definitely something he is described as. Closely followed by evil and jerk. Erwin may have put an end to his stealing days, but he has traded one bad habit for another. A mastermind trickster, he knows what card to play to fool the unknowing victim. He likes to lie just to see how long it would take for the person to discover what he said was a lie. Though, be forced to stay back in class as a sort of detention, all you'll to do is help him build paper boats and planes. Then you'll have to paint them blue. No other colour is accepted. Okay, so he doesn't do this every time- It only happened once. What I'm getting at is, He's awfully mellow. He doesn't like punishing other people. Stop someone from murdering another classmate? Sure, he could do that. Make someone write lines? Nope, he's to laid-back for that.

[Swan]
He is calm and collected. The voice of reasoning you could say. Barely anything can make him blow a fuse. This guy is as chill as ice. He walks with an air of sophistication. Though that doesn't mean that he won't bite. If there's one thing he hates its arrogant or loud students. He will try to knock them down a peg or two just to get back on them. Erwin isn't a fighter but he sure can be aggressive and assertive. He has a way with saying things that'll make others quiet or rile them up even more. He's protective over his friends, more than willing to step in the line of fire to save them or dive head first into danger.

Reason why they're here:

He had been targeted for quite some time; it was only a stroke of unluckiness that he was caught.
He was making an escape from his recent burglary, scattering his atoms and reforming them into the cloud of dark birds he was infamous for. He had been careless that day, and as a result one of the birds were shot down by a pursuing officer before he could fly out of shooting range.
Erwin had always wondered what would happen if something like this happened. Well now he knew. It felt like he was sticking his hand into a flame. And between that pain, the thought of him being forever stuck as a dozen birds struck him like lightning. The teenager couldn't turn back without every part of him nearby. He panicked and in a flurry of unearthly screeching and cawing, swarmed down to the part of him that had been shot down.

There he morphed back into his human form, hacking up red liquid as well as a small silver bullet. He never got to see how brightly the sapphire necklace- the one he had been targeting but now abandoned in front of him- glinted as flashlights bore down on his hunched figure. He didn't notice the officers as they surrounded him. Didn't see the mixture of pride and disgust flicking through each individuals' face. All he could see was darkness.

History:
In the German city Erwin live in, a contagious love bug had spread among the teenaged residents. It didn't take him long to be affected. These feelings awakened the formerly dormant instinct to impress the person he was so infatuated by. Of course, since he wasn't a bird, Erwin had no idea why he was getting urges to horde everything blue. He had attempted to resist it but by locking up that urge, he unlocked another power, the power to shift. He ended up snatching an old lady's necklace when he first unwillingly turned, mind filled with nothing but the need to collect the colour blue.

Things went downhill from there. Spooked and confused by his ability, his resilience crumbled to rubble and gave way to this new part of him, using his new found ability to aid him in robbing. His parents were never the sort to interfere much with their child's life, believing it was best if Erwin learned things by himself; that and they had careers that required their full attention. So they never questioned their son when he returned late at home with a suspiciously full backpack that had been empty only a couple hours earlier.

By now his teenage crush had long gone but his need to take remained. Why should he stop? It was fun and he got pretty things as a bonus. He found that it was easier to slip into stores during the day rather than late at night, swooping in as a flock of birds and snatching anything he can with his talons before gliding back out. Back then, his powers weren't as strong, he could only remain in that form for a few minutes so it didn't take long for his face to get caught by a surveillance camera. You know what happens after that.

Something else worth writing about would be that bird always close by him. Erwin's eyesight never fully recovered from that incident, it was damaged beyond repair. Glasses were of no effect. On the positive side he wasn't utterly blind, he could vaguely see colors and shapes.

Though he does act as if he's utterly blind just to fool people into underestimating him, thus giving him the upper hand and the power of surprise. In compensation for his lack of sight, he has started to use the sight of birds via the link he can create between them as a way to properly see. When he was old enough, he decided to sign up as teacher to help the future generation.

- He's like Houdini, real good at escaping things as well as avoiding particular things.
- Manipulation. He had once tricked people into thinking he was hopelessly blind while making another group think that his poisonous touch was enough to kill them. He then wonders why people avoid him.

During his first few months in the academy, Erwin had a boyfriend. The relationship didn't last long. It was an awkward experience- both were idiots and Erwin may have accidentally poisoned him. He made a point of trying to keep his powers reined after that.
