Flare burst out from the start, cantering in a circle and anxiously waiting for the starting bell to ring. Once it had, she galloped up the to first jumped and soared over with ease. With her adrenaline pumping, Flare did not seem to tire one bit. Her mind was racing along with her feet, soaring over the second and third jump. She reached the fourth and leaped, doing a buck in mid-air. She landed and trotted over to the exit, whipping the air with her flaming tail.

all horses lined up walking out in the ring horses rearing and cheering Flick raised her head as the scores came in rows now showing everyones score till Flicks came to the highest score and the winner was Flick she nodded with pleasure of winning

Flame nudged Flare. "She won this class, but didn't make it into the finals." He smiled. "And so did you. I talked to the judges. They're only judging on good form, cadence, and if you clear the jumps in time. Apparently speedy over there had a sloppy form over the jumps. I overheard that her strides were off timing as well." He glanced over at Flick. "C'mon, we're up in a little bit." Flame nickered, smiling with excitement that he, Flare, and a couple of other horses had only made it into the final round. The stallion's ears pricked at the announcer, and Flare's name echoing across the arena. "You're up first. Good luck" He told her, giving a small nuzzle on her shoulder.

Flare pinned her ears as Flick passed. She snorted and cantered into the ring. She cantered in a small circle and, when the starting bell went off, towards the first jump. The adrenaline had not stopped pumping through her system. It got stronger. She leaped the first jump and then the second with utter ease. She jumped the third and headed towards the fourth. Her heart pounded with excitement and anticipation. Her mane and tail began flaming a bright red as her hooves left the turf. She soared over the final jump. Once she landed, her mane and tail returned to their normal orange flames. She trotted over the the exit with great pride. She thought she did exceptionally well. She turned around and watched with excitement as the other champion horses got ready to jump.

Flame snorted as he was up, cantering forward. Ahead of him, a serious row of jumps. Tuck your legs in very tightly... He reminded himself, leaping over the first jump, clearing it by nearly a foot. The crowd roared loudly as the stallion urged himself faster, going over several more jumps with perfect form. He came down to the final two jumps. Flame tucked his legs over the jump, then here came the last. The hardest of them all, a 7 1/2 foot double oxer. The large stallion gathered the muscles in his rump, launching his lean body over the jump, soaring over it with 2 feet of clearance. "And Flame takes the highest amount of points, with Flare as the runner up!!!!" The announcer shouted, the crowd cheering in the background. Flame bucked with joy, trotting over to Flare with a smile on his face. "We did it! We won the final round!" The stallion grinned, as the judges came over with two large ribbons, placing a big blue one on Flame's neck, and a bright red one on Flare's. "Congratulations. You both did very well. There's another competition coming up in a couple of months for those who qualify. The judge smiled at Flame and Flare.

Flare smiled. She threw up her head and whinnied, lifting her legs off the ground in a collected jump of joy. She nudged the ribbon around her neck and nickered. She couldn't keep her hooves still, she was so excited.

Flare headed to her home as well. She reached a cave that led down into a cavern. Home sweet home. she thought. She walked over the a corner with an overhang. The rock floor was charred from where Flare slept ever single night. She shut her eyes and fell into a light, dreamless sleep.

Flare woke from her sleep with a jolt. She looked around. She thought she heard a voice but... no one was there. Her ribbon was still around her neck. She shook it off and onto the floor where she picked it up and put it into a small pile of blue ribbons. She walked out of the dark caverns and into moonlight night.
