Meet Moreen Kane, most people just call her Mo.
Imagine walking through you're whole life feeling like people are staring at you. Or, not so much you, but your fiery hair and very pronounced set of freckles on your face an arms, and your deep sea blue eyes. Mo feels this way pretty much any time she's around anybody but her family, at least her immediate family. Yes she comes from a long line of strictly Irish blood lines, her Mother and her father are both first generation Americans, but she's the only one in her family that has such a... Striking appearance. She's never quite though of herself as pretty. Unique? Of course, she might even describe herself as exotic or intriguing, but not pretty or beautiful. Nope, neither of those. She doesn't have the flawless tan skin, sun bleached blonde hair or gorgeously curved body that is necessary to be considered pretty in the world we live in. She's a short, beanpole of a girl with hardly any curves, flawed pale skin and this unruly red hair. Nobodies ever tried to convince her she's pretty either, nobodies ever really taken any interest in her except to gawk at her different appearance. Until now.
Plot
Mo has, as stated above, never felt pretty. As every girl deserves to feel. Her parents never even reassured her that she was beautiful, they say she's unique, and that's what they love about her. But when a new boy come into school, a Junior just like herself, as a recruit for the Basketball team he immediately takes an interest in the shy little Irish girl with the thick accent and the thicker hair. He can't explain why a tall, handsome jock like him falls for the little quite girl, but sometimes love doesn't need an explanation. But when their romance starts getting in the way of his schooling and his scholarship for basketball his parents try to pull them away. So will he choose to fight for the odd little girl, or just drift back into the life he knew before and try to forget those deep blue eyes?
