Mudpaw looked at him. "Yes, what do you need?" he asked.

"I-I was saving this conversation for Star, but since she's not here, you can pass along the message. I...don't know sometimes if Fuzzystar made the right decision choosing me as deputy. I'm not super well-known in the clan. So, if Starclan sends any messages about it, could you or Star tell me?" Halfstep asked hopefully.

Mudpaw gave him a look like he didn't know what he was talking about. "What do you mean you're "not super well-known" in the clan?" he asked, "And why does it matter?"

Halfstep closed his eyes and took a breath. "Look, I just want to know if Starclan approves of naming me deputy, that's all." he sighed.

"If Starclan didn't approve, then she wouldn't have picked you," he told him.

Halfstep was about to argue again, but realized he was right. "Alright, I guess your right. Just...tell me if something happens." he sighed, padding from the medicine cat's den and into the warrior's den. He laid down in his nest, glancing at Buttons before falling asleep.

Fuzzystar was the first awake. She walked out of her den. She had decided that Buttons would join the clan, if she wished.

Halfstep woke up when he saw the sun begin to rise. He narrowed his eyes and stood, jabbing Stonetail in the back with his paw. "Get up, I'm escorting you out of the territory." he growled.

Stonetail got up. "Fine. Let's go." he sighed.
Buttons woke up to Halfstep's voice. She opened her eyes and looked at Stonetail. "Why is he being banished?" she asked.

"I'll tell you when I get back, for now just rest." Halfstep said before leading Stonetail from camp.

She padded out the warrior's den and rolled over onto her back to let the sun warm up her belly.

IC- Star padded over to Halfstep and Mudpaw. "Sorry, I was out collecting herbs," she meowed, setting down a pile of dock leaves and marigold.

Mudpaw looked at her. "What are we going to do today?" he asked excitedly.

Halfstep padded back into camp, picking a thrush off the pile and settling down to eat.

Fuzzystar decided to call a meeting to announce that Buttons may join the clan. She jumped up into the Y in the tree and called everybody to come and sit down.
Buttons and Mudpaw went to sit under the tree.

"Hmm, I was think that today I shall show you a little thing I have discovered," she meowed flicking her tail to signal that Mudpaw should follow her. She padded out of the den making sure no one was following them.
