    Shortpaw padded away from Cougarstar's den, the other cats echoed her name. Her heart was filled with pride and she felt her pelt burn with embarrassment.
    "Shortpaw! Shortpaw!" her brother, Glowkit, cheered the loudest.
    She blinked at him admirably. Her would become an apprentice soon also. She padded over to him and rasped her tongue over his ear. His blue-green eyes sparkled.
    "I can't believe my own sister is growing up so fast when i feel like i was just born!" Glowkit purred.
    Shortpaw rolled her eyes.
    "I can't believe you didn't become one before me, I mean who would want me? I'm always forgetting things, which gets me in trouble!" Shortpaw murmured.
    Glowkit touched the tip of his tail to her shoulder in a calming way. She shared a glance with him. Who would want her as an apprentice?

    A light orange she cat padded up to Shortpaw. "Hello Shortpaw! I'm Robinsong, and Im your mentor, I guess. Don't worry, I'm as nervous as you are." Robinsong nodded to Glowkit. "Hello, little one. I understand you will be an apprentice too, soon."
