  • Duarte landed after a bit. It was getting dark fast. He sighed. He had better head home. Besides his metal wing was making his back ache. He would work on tweaking the design to fix that problem. He headed over and grabbed his sweatshirt. Tucking his wings back in he pulled it over hiding himself once more.

  • Aria starts to see a few stars peaking out of the darkening sky, which bring a soft smile to her lips. She finds beauty in both night and day, each have their advantages, drawing her to them. Tonight is destined to be clear and filled with stars as she wonders whether there would be any meteorites.

  • Duarte walked back to the car and got in. He gazed up into the night sky and sighed. Soon he would once again be soaring up there. He started the car and drove the long way home in silence. He parked in the garage and walked inside. The house was silent. He went up to his room and changed quickly. He lie awake in bed a while lost in thoughts about the day, but finally drifted off into sleep.

  • After a fitful sleep Duarte woke bright in the morning even before his alarm rang. He shut it off so it wouldn't ring then started to prepare for the day. He got dressed and ready then headed downstairs to eat breakfast to find his sister already at the table looking tired and stuffing a waffle in her mouth. "Mornin," he said brightly. All he got in reply was a grunt. He gave a short laugh of amusement.

  • Aria is jolted away by the pounding annoyance that is her alarm clock. She slams it off and shuffles down stairs to eat her breakfast. Once she eats, she wakes everyone else up then goes to get dressed, going for skinny jeans and a tunic top. She puts her hair back into a slightly messy top knot.

  • Duarte got out cereal and started shoveling it in while his sister watched his every move through slitted tired eyes. He laughed a bit and headed back upstairs to his room after finishing eating. He looked in the mirror at his hair. Blah. He didn't feel like messing with it so left it flat once more.

  • Aria shoves her books into her backpack and heaves it over her shoulder. She winces as it slams down onto her back. Bad idea, not a good idea, she notes to herself. She skips down the stairs and skims her keys off of the counter, almost dropping them as she heads out the door. She gets in her car and backs out of the driveway, seeing that she needed to stop and get gas. She swings by the gas station to fill up her car.

  • Duarte headed out the door grabbing his backpack on the way. He carefully swung it around onto his back extremely careful this time. He was still a bit sore from the flight last night. He would have to work in making the wing lighter and more arrow dynamic. He started off down the street towards the school scuffing his shoes on the ground a bit.

  • After filling her car up, Aria continues on to school. She parks in her usual spot and walks into the school. She puts her books up in her locker. A couple of her friends finds her and they stand and talk for several minutes at her locker before parting ways and going to class.

  • Duarte walked into the school building and dodged people in the halls to emerge by his locker. He put his backpack in and took out the needed materials and books and headed to first class. He arrived on time and went and sat in his seat putting his stuff on his desk in order.

  • Aria walks into the class room surprised to see that Duarte beat her to the class room. She smiles at him, "Good morning," she says as she slides into her desk. She gets out her notes an sets them on her desktop, ready for when the class starts.

  • "Good morning," said Duarte in reply with a smile. There was a bit of time before class started so he took out a blank piece of paper. Seeing that Aria was busy with her things and no one else paid any attention to him he started on a design for a new wing. Using lighter materials and sleeker form.

  • Aria glances over silently as what Duarte is drawing. *A wing... Hmm* She thinks to herself. She pulls her book out of her bag and opens it, starting to read. She reads until the teacher bounces in, being her perky, coffee-driven self. She zips through the roll call and jumps up in front of the class, ready to teach.

  • Duarte out his design sketch away as the teacher comes in. He slipped it silently under his book glancing over at Aria who didn't seemed to have noticed it. Whew. He turned his attention to the wide awake too hyped teacher. He took out and pencil preparing for notes.

  • Aria starts taking notes, listening carefully to the teachers words. She writes down examples and makes little, extra notes on the subject. She always tries to keep up with every word, not missing a beat, though it still happens on occasion.

  • Duarte took some notes. He slacked a bit today. His mind was buzzing with ideas not for school work but for the wing. He took a few notes of materials he thought of and wrote then along the margins of his note paper.

  • When the teacher finally stops talking, Aria leans back in her seat, anxious for the weekend to arrive. She works on the homework that the teacher assigned quietly, feeling tired from the last couple of stressful days.

  • Duarte not very focused on the subject atchamd went through the work slowly taking time because he kept getting sidetrack with ideas. "Focus," he muttered quietly to himself as he tried to set his mind on the narrow path of school work. Get the homework done first then you can work on the design he told himself.

  • Aria glances at her watch and closes her book quietly, seeing that it is time to change classes. She puts her books away into her bag and rises with the rest of the class. She looks at Duarte, who has been strangely quiet today, "See you later," She says, heading out the door to her next class.
