    Plot:

    My Character:

[font=times new roman]-Just post a form like mine to join-

  • Track! I find it interesting that his name is Osiris, one of my good friends mentioned something about Osiris when she was telling me how she thought the world was gonna end on October 8th

  • Kai Megido
    27 years old

I'm usually more advanced in my forms, but I have to do homework I'm sorry >^< My actual roleplaying is better xD

  • OOC: It's alright
And Osiris is the name of the Egyptian god of death. i'm so original
    IC:
[align=center]Cyrus stood behind the counter at what was simply known as 'The Station'. It was the only gas station in town, and the only one for miles in you headed north. God, why had he ever come to this tiny little town? Oh, yeah. It was within walking distance to the nearest hospital and had multiple old folk homes. That, with the surprisingly high crime rate, made it great. There might have been more people in large cities, but most of them were healthy. Or, you know, not in any direct danger of dying.
Cyrus felt like he was forgetting something, so he quickly went over a mental checklist. He quickly figured out what was wrong. The boss had said that someone from the day shift was transferring to night shifts. Why, he had no clue. He would sleep at night if he had the choice. Not that he slept very often. Not that he slept at all.
Cyrus stood up straight, pulling his upper body off of the counter as he tried to look like he hadn't just been thinking about how thankful he was that he couldn't die of boredom. He was about to start saying the exact same greeting he always used for customers before seeing the guy who had walked in was wearing a uniform. He instantly flopped back onto the counter, no longer caring about looking like a friendly, happy, energetic worker.

  • (So I'm a bit confused, is the guy who walked in Kai? (I'm an idiot I'm sorry xD) Also if that's the god of death then I'm a bit worried about her o.o )

  • OOC: Yeah, it's Kai.
And it kinda makes sense, seeing as you said they were talking about the end of the world.

  • (She believes in illuminati and I'd be mostly ok with it if she didn't practically fall asleep on her homework from staying up late and studying conspiracy theories)

Kai had just drank the final bit of five-hour energy as he walked in, and the awful taste hit him like a bullet. Just as he walked into the new shift, he made an awful face. See, Kai thought for sure that there'd be no one as crazy as him who'd wanna work late at night, and he figured that the only person who'd be there would be someone leaving their shift. So, since he didn't think he'd need to make a good impression, he made a rather grossed-out face and stuck his tongue out slightly. "Hate that stuff. Monster is better." Very unlike the shy boy he was. "God, I can't wait to get out of college so I can get a real job instead of one at a convenience store at night.." He murmured to himself. Just when he looked up, he realized that he, in fact, DID have someone he'd be working with. He stopped cold and his eyes went wide from surprise. Nooo! He probably saw me make that stupid face and mutter to myself!

  • (That sounds like a few of my friends)

Cyrus raised an eyebrow, an amused grin on his face. Alright, so this may be a hint more interesting than he first expected. He stood up, although he slouched to the point where he looked like some kind of disgruntled bird. Not that he cared about his posture. He had been slouching since before fire was discovered, and that wasn't a habit he was going to attempt to break now. That kind of thing was cemented into his bones, there was no getting rid of it. "Are you alright?" He asked, his voice gravelly and rough. It had been smooth and gentle, once upon a time. Before that phase where he smoked half a pack of cigarettes a day for two decades. That was an extremely long time ago, and he still regretted it. He missed being able to say one well placed word and have people dropping to his feet.
There was something about having a voice that drove people insane that made people feel powerful.
God, he missed how his voice used to sound.

  • Kai stared in shock for a couple more seconds before finally shaking his head to come back to reality. "Ah, yeah...." He trailed off a little and stared at his feet as he shuffled them. "So uh.... am I gonna be working with you?" He asked, face a little red from how insane he had probably looked to this other boy. He chewed on his bottom lip, a habit of his, and looked up. "I'm Kai."

  • Cyrus nodded slightly, attempting to memorize the name and it's matching body. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Cyrus. And wither or not you will be working with me depends on wither or not you are working the night shift. If you are, than I guess we'll be seeing each other quite often. If not, there's really not a true reason for you to be here. I'm going to guess you are working." Cyrus reached up, rubbing his eyes in an attempt to wake up a bit more. It wasn't that he was tired, it just felt like he was sleeping when he was bored. There was always a point in which business dropped off and almost stopped. The point had been two hours ago.

  • "Yeah. I have studies and homework during the day, plus the night I'd better pay so.. here I am." He reached a slightly shaky hand out and said, "Well um... Nice to meet you then, Cyrus.." His name is interesting, I probably won't forget it. Then again, with how I am with names... Thank the Lord for nametags! He held back a laugh at his own joke that he made in his head- Which wasn't even all that funny anyway. Nervousness added to his laughter too.

  • Cyrus leaned over the counter, shaking Kai's hand. He ran his eyes over him, taking in as many facts about him as possible. He looked to be around his age, maybe a year or two older. "So, what kind of classes are you taking?" He asked, resting his head on one of his hands. He was slightly curious, seeing how many college classes he had been able to go through within the amount of time he had been around. It was expensive, especially now, but he was always able to get fairly good jobs. He was working on a medical degree himself-hospitals are places where one wrong move can give him a spirit to guide, and his last job as a mortician had a shockingly low amount of actual death. Only corpses-and one's professional dreams said a lot about them.

  • "Mostly art. But... I want something to fall back on in case that doesn't work, so I'm thinking about trying out engineering." I had nothing to do but study in high school after all, so I can't imagine that the math and science part would be all too hard for me... He thought. "And you?" Kai tilted his head to the side slightly and shifted his weight from one hip to the other.

  • Cyrus nodded slightly, marking the facts down in a mental notebook. "I already have a degree in biology and education, but right now I'm going for a degree in medicine." He shrugged, acting like it wasn't a big deal. He had more, but adding to that would just be showing off.
Okay, so he might have been showing off a hint by adding that he had more than one degree at all. But he liked showing off. It was the equivalent of flipping the page on a test when you're the first one to finish the front page.

  • Kai held his hands over his mouth. "Seriously?! Oh... H-Hey, no way!" He stuttered with embarrassment because he thought, Wait... Why would he work at a convenience store if he had those degrees? Can't believe I fell for that...! "You wouldn't work at a convenience store if that were true! Do you have proof?" He said this challengingly, but quietly nonetheless.

  • Cyrus raised an eyebrow. "What's the point of getting a teaching job if I'm just going to be a doctor in a few years?" He said, pulling out his cell phone. He might have taken a picture of the degrees at some point. He sighed. Nope, nothing. He tucked it back in his pocket. "And how exactly do I prove to you that I have the degrees in question?" He asked, cocking his head slightly to the side.

  • He slowly looked down in thought. "Huh... Well... Take photos of them tomorrow I guess? And then bring them. Or better yet, actually bring them." Kai shrugged and looked down. "How did you manage to afford that? And you look so young... You must've taken like three classes a day, huh? Unless you're thirty something, huh? I could've sworn you looked near my age..."

  • Cyrus smiled. "I got a lot of scholarships in high school and I've worked since I was 15 years old. And I'm 4 years away from 30. " He raised an eyebrow, almost challenging Kai to press for cracks in the story. It was all lies, of course, but he had been telling the same lies for some long they might as well have been the truth.

  • "Oh... Then you're actually older than me by a year huh? Well.. I'll believe you once you show me." He quieted down a little more, and his more gullible side was showing, despite how insane the story still sounded to him. "No one is coming, are they? So we've just got to sit here and talk all night."

  • Cyrus nodded. "The night shift is usually as dead as a graveyard. I don't know why there needs to be more than one person working it, I usually spend the time getting extra shut eye. " He pursed his lips before grinning. "But I guess not being alone all night is good."
