  • "I love Ciel, but sometimes he doesn't seem to see."

    Plot

Ciel is on one of his cases that the Queen has asked him to be on. He is so busy that he blows off everyone - including Elizabeth. This case is rather challenging for him and it's causing him to be harsher than his usual cool manor. Ciel is snappy and cranky, and Lizzy tries to make it up to him by throwing a ball but it only upsets him more and he snaps at her. She brushes it off, and tries again and again to please Ciel. After he finished his case he is startled with news that troubles him - which he demands to be left alone. When Lizzy goes to him anyways and he ignores her with a cold shoulder, she leaves with tears in her eyes, tears Ciel doesn't see because his back was to her. A few months has passed by and Elizabeth doesn't even try to go to Ciel's mansion anymore, a relief to everyone and yet it's suspicious. When Sebastian brings news to Ciel that Lady Elizabeth hadn't been seen in town for weeks, or anywhere for that matter, they go to her mansion and discover the disastrous truth - Lizzy was depressed, all of her happy joy and smiles has turned into what Ciel had turned into when he lost his parents. She showed the truth in her eyes, all of the pain she had always masked behind her smiles and giggles, all of the pain that had disappeared the moment she saw Ciel - but after she had been yelled at time and time again, her spirit was crushed and the pain was revealed, her demons were revealed.

The carriage bounced along the road, the huge Phantomhive manor was definitely a sight Lady Elizabeth was excited to see. She smiled brightly at the sight of the mansion, her sparkly green eyes shining brightly in her excitement. When the carriage stopped, she quickly hurried to get inside. Sebastian had opened the door for her and the moment she stepped inside she looked around for her betrothed, Ciel Phantomhive. "Sebastian, where is my Ciel?" She asked, turning to look at the butler with wide green eyes. Lizzy was lead to the Study, and Sebastian told her, "Please excuse his behavior Lady Elizabeth, he hasn't been having the greatest day." Elizabeth ignored his warning and burst into the Study. "Ciel!" She squealed in excitement, a huge smile broke out on her face at the sight of the boy she loved. If he had been standing, she would have ran over and tackled him in a hug. She was in a beautiful red dress that made her blonde hair seem to be even more blonde. Her bright emerald green eyes shone in happiness and her smile was wide and full of happiness. Over all, just seeing Ciel had made her day complete. The young female really did love him, but sometimes she felt that maybe he just didn't care for her like he use to, like he had before...before the fire.

  • The blue-black ravenette looked up from his letters, the envelope knife still in hand as his fiancee greeted him. With an impatient sigh, he placed both on the desk. His expression was cold, colder than most times.

He had no time for Lizzy's antics sand childish affections. People where dying. The Queen was distressed.

And he had to bear the weight. His blue eye flicked to Elisabeth momentarily, but he was brisk.

"Lizzy, this is no place for a woman right now. Please, leave me be. I'm busy," he halfheartedly ordered, turning again to his letter from the Queen, personally assessing it rather than properly greeting his wife-to-be.

Elizabeth was taken aback by his harshness. Even when he was in a bad mood he had never treated her so coldly. Her pretty green eyes were wide in shock, and her bottom lip trebled slightly. Yet she refused to let him make her feel sad because he was in a bad mood. "Ciel, you're upset! We should do something fun and cheer you up!" She suggested happily, a smile on her face as she attempted to recover from his cold tone. Lizzy loved Ciel, she loved him and she loved his smile. The smile she wished she could desperately get on his face. All of the pain she suffered she had always hidden. Ciel hadn't been the only one to lose his parents, Lizzy lost his parents too. She loved them too. Yet he had been the one who got to shut everyone out and she had to go on pretending to be the silly and happy girl she had always been. "Ciel, your servants aren't as fun to be with! Can't I help you? Please?" She asked, ignoring the fact that Sebastian was in the room as well.

  • Now the boy's eyes were ablaze as he rose from his seat, palms pressed to the desk, his father's ring gleaming on his thumb.

"Elizabeth! Please, I can't be distracted," The young Earl strode from his desk, and came directly to his fiancee's place of standing, fury darkening his features. "Not even by you. I know you wish we'll, but it can't help me."

He turned away, heels clicking on the floorboards, before he paused, taking in and letting out a deep breath. Anger still roiled in his belly, and he found he couldn't even pity Lizzy at the moment.

    "Sebastian, entertain her."

No matter the cost, he thought, I must go through with this case....

"Very well, master." Sebastian had said, but Lizzy wasn't even listening to him. The only thing she heard was the cold, harsh words Ciel had told her. His words hadn't been the part that had pained her, the way he had looked so...so angry. She bit her bottom lip and took a deep breath. "I knew when I am not wanted. Fine, if you want me to leave then I will leave. No need to entertain me Sebastian, I am going home." Elizabeth said, trying to sound as well-put together as she could before she turned around and started to walk out of the room. She held in the tears that wanted to slip from her cheeks. It hadn't been but a few weeks since she had been kidnapped and almost turned into a doll. Ciel had came to rescue her, and she couldn't have been more relieved. Could he have forgotten that in just a few short weeks? Of course he could. Ciel tossed aside anything irrelevant to him if he pleased. Take a short deep breath, Lizzy walked down the Phantomhive hallway and towards the doors. Her heels were clicking softly on the ground.

  • The young Lord briefly watched her go, but said nothing further on the matter, studying the letter.

    Today was not his greatest...

The Earl pressed his fingers through his hair, teeth grit in frustration.

  • When she got to the door, Elizabeth was surprised to see Sebastian holding the door open for her. "Please excuse the young masters behavior. The Queen has been asking much of him lately and he is stressing." Sebastian told her. Lizzy looked up at Sebastian with wide green eyes, tears forming in them. "I understand that Sebastian, I really do. It's just. He's always too busy for me and I can't ever seem to do right to make it up to him. What kind of fiance am I?" She bit her trembling bottom lip and took a deep breath. The young blonde female was determined to hide her pain from the butler. Sometimes it felt as if he could see into her soul and it disturbed her.

  • Cole watched from his desk, half furious, half pitying. But it didn't last beyond his Fiance's words, and the 14 year old Earl snapped.

"Lizzy, leave me for the time. We can discuss this another time, another day - but not now."

  • Elizabeth refused to acknowledge Ciel in that moment, giving him the silent treatment as best as she could. She wasn't as much upset with him as she was upset with herself. It felt to her like Ciel couldn't care less about her, that their engagement was nothing more than a bother to him. Lizzy loved Ciel and she tried to show it, but she always messed everything up. "Goodbye, Ciel." She said before going back to her stagecoach and getting in to leave.

  • "I will get you happy. I will throw a ball and we will have the best time ever." The young mistress murmured to herself with determination in her eyes. She was going to cheer Ciel up somehow. She missed his smile, his laugh, she missed the happy Ciel that would set aside time to be with her.

  • Since that day, Lizzy had been planning the ball she would throw for Ciel. She had everything planned out and the ball was already set to go for the night. She was finished getting dressed and then made her way to put her hair up in it's normal curled pony tails. Once Lizzy was finished, she looked at her reflection with a smile on her face before she went to get inside the carriage to be on her way to Ciel's manor. All along the ride, little Lizzy was humming in excitement. Wouldn't Ciel just lighten up for the ball? Maybe it would get his lovely smile to show again? That was the hopes Lizzy had, the positive little blondie with bright emerald green eyes.

  • Partially unaware of anything to do with Lizzy, Ciel would be in for a slight shock upon her appearance. He was in the thick of a mission, hot on a trail.... and a ball was the last thing he needed.

  • The young blonde female arrived at the mansion and she quickly went to the door. She wasn't surprised to see that Sebastian had opened it for her. Giving a quick curtsy, she rushed in and looked around the room. It was definitely not ready for a ball. She went to the kitchen to find Bard and she smiled at him sweetly, as he looked at her shocked with wide eyes. "I need your help. We're having a ball for Ciel and this place isn't ready for one. Would you mind making a feast for us?" She asked, batting her eyedlids sweetly. Bard nodded and held up his flame torch and she giggled before she was off to find Mey-Rin and Finny.

  • When she found Finny, she asked him if he could set up the ballroom. After she got his okay, Lizzy found Mey-Rin and smiled. "Now we need to get you all dressed up beautiful!" She said excitedly as she went over to her and got her in the room. Grabbing a dress and tossing it at her, she began to get Mey-Rin all dressed up fancy.
