Eruptionkit swang out with both paws towards Bladekit. Now that he could breathe, he was going to fight back! The kit could hear Halvakit's playful calls. It would be so much easier to fight if he could see his siblings, but the playful kit did not know the difference. Eruptionkit gave a playful growl of satisfaction when he felt his paws bang upon Bladekit.
The kits are arriving!

Bladekit felt Eruptionkit's paw swing at him. He turned around and gently head-butted his younger brother.
-
Halvakit turned her body and raced towards Eruptionkit. With a playfull leap she curled her paws and let out a tiny laugh. Halvakit waited would she get kncoked out of the sky?
-
Rememberkit gave a small sigh, again. He let the noise his siblings were making rush over him; he didn't feel much like fighting, or playing.
-
Bladekit tumbled into Eruptionkit when Halvakit collided with him.
-
Eruptionkit tumbled onto his back and squirmed back onto his stomach. He did not like that feeling of defenselesness. The kit wandered back to the safety of his mother. Crawling forward, Eruptionkit felt his mother's stomach close. The ginger and white kit could smell the warm scent of milk close by. He latched on and started suckling the milk.
Once done with his meal, Eruptionkit settled into his mossy bed for a long nap. One thing felt different though, a scent that he had not noticed in the past. The scent was on his left, and it was much like Bladekit, but different at the same time. The strange scent was Rememberkit, but Eruptionkit did not know any difference yet. His eyes would open in a few days, and the kit would soon be able to tell which sibling was which.
-
OOC: Durn it. I was away for four days, sorry, all. :P :P :P :P
IC: Embersong sighed happily. She noticed that Rememberkit looked a bit unhappy to her. She picked him up by the scruff of his neck and dragged him away from her other 5 kits, gently nestling him into her fur.
OOC: I'm going to RP Raykit until Scourge shows up. If I post twice with him and Scourge still doesn't come, I'm killing him off.
IC: Brazenkit batted her eyelashes at Bladekit and Eruptionkit - then remembered that they could see nothing, just like her. She butted into Eruptionkit's leg, trying to knock him off-balance. "Mew!"
IC: Raykit's leg twitched feebly. "M-mew," he mewed weakly, trying to get his mommy's attention. He didn't feel good. He felt all wobbly and frail. "MEW!" he screeched as loud as he could - which was nothing more than a whisper.
OOC: I'm RPing him as if he's going to die, okay? For now. IF Scourge comes, we can have a miraculous recovery.
-
Bladekit stopped what he was doing. He heard his other little brother in pain. He turned and ran towards his little brother. He smelled sick. Bladekit began to nuzzle his brother comfortingly. He licked Raykit on the head.
-
Raykit sighed in relief that his brother had heard him. He faintly tried to beg him to get their mother's attention through mews and faint tail signals. He couldn't even get up to suckle - he would die soon without help.
-
OOC: Is it ok with everybody if the kit's start opening their eyes a little? They still don't know how to talk, and everything looks blurry, but they start to grasp a little of what is going on.
IC: A big bump shook Eruptionkit's body. Brazenkit had ran into Eruptionkit's leg, waking him from the deep sleep he had rested in. Eruptionkit growled warningly to Brazenkit, but the growl was not in a fierce or rude way. The ginger and white kit could scarcely hear some commotion going on not too far away. He crawled to where he could hear it best and sniffed the air. A strange scent drifted into his nostrils. It smelled bad, like a horrible sickness waiting to take its victim. Then he could smell Bladekit, who must have been standing near by. Something was wrong here, but Eruptionkit could not tell what. Trying to get the attention of his mother, the tom-kit let out many sharp "Mew!"s. What was going on, Eruptionkit did not know, but something was not right.
-
Bladekit began to mew too and nudged her brother towards his brother. He hoped that Eruptionkit or someone would help him push his little brother to suckle.
-
OOC: This isn't good, I am starting to like Bladekit too much. He is being too nice! Haha, yeah, Eruptionkit and Bladekit are going to have to get into a fight once they start to talk.
IC: Eruptionkit, feeling Raykit move forward by Bladekit's nudging, joined in the pushing of Raykit. The point to this strenuous work was unknown to the ginger and white kit, but it would have to work somehow. Raykit stopped moving, and Eruptionkit could tell that the weak kit had run into their mother's stomach. Hopefully this worked, for Eruptionkit could practically feel Raykit getting weaker by the second.
-
ooc: well yeah, Bladekit's supposed to be the favored son. Eruptionkit's supposed to be the jealous vengeful son.
Bladekit nudged Raykit's head so that it was next to a tete, he hoped that his brother had enough strength to suckle.
-
Halvakit stopped in her tracks and turned towards Raykit. Bowing her tiny head she manadged to lick his with eternal sadness. Halvakit's head wen't up scanning the area with her nose.
-
Raykit felt his strength seeping out of him. He wanted to thank his siblings for everything they'd done for him, but - he couldn't. He couldn't even force out a weak mew. He could barely move his head towards his mother's teat to suckle. Raykit hoped that one of his littermates would think to push his head up so he could reach to suckle. But it would be a wasted effort, he realized. He was dying, and swiftly!
~
Embersong was lost in reverie until she felt her kits stir. They were pushing a kit - one that she hadn't even noticed after she had named him, he had been so quiet. The small scrap of fur they were nudging looked like it was going to die. He smelled like hers - he looked like hers - and from the way the other kits were attending him, he was their littermate. "No!" she mewed. "He'll die!" she mewed in despair. "Someone get the medicine cat!" She knew that no other adult cats were around, though, and the kits couldn't even see yet, let alone understand what a medicine cat was. She nuzzled him hopelessly. "One of my precious pieces of Starclan's bliss, doomed to become Starclan right after birth," she mewed sadly.
-
Eruptionkit backed away, the effort of pushing this practically lifeless kit took all of the tiny kit's energy. The defenseless kit heard his mother's wail, and it sent chills down his spine. His mother seemed extremely unhappy, and he could smell the fear scent coming off of her body. Usually her words would calm the frail kit, but this had the opposite effect. Eruptionkit crawled over to Rememberkit and snuggled up beside his brother. The ginger and white kit needed the warmth and comfort of his sibling.
-
You could almost feel the tension in the air as all the cats waited for Raykit to die - but hoped they were waiting in vain. "Someone! Please help!" Embersong cried out, looking around for the Windclan queen that had disappeared a time earlier. Her eyes rested on the nursery door, and hope shot through her. "Mudheart!" she mewed happily. "Please - one of your kits is about to die! Go get the medicine cat!"
~
Mudheart was strolling through the camp after having finished a plump vole. He tried to remember all the force-matings he had carried out recently. Oh, yes! Frostheart was first. She had already had her kits. Embersong - where was she? She was due for kitting now, he remembered. He had seen her in the nursery the other day. He ran to the nursery at a leisurely pace. Stepping into the den, he heard sad wailing that he recognized as Embersong's. He looked around. There she is! Letting her fervent appeal sink in, he walked over to her and looked down at her. "Now why would I get the medicine cat?" he asked. "I didn't mate with you for your kits. I mated with you to scar you and to satisfy my own desire. So why? Why should I do anything for that weak scrap of fur?" He picked up the little ginger bundle by the scruff of his neck and almost gulped. He didn't want to do this, didn't know if he could carry through, but he had to be tough and unforgiving. "It's better that he should die." He made for the exit quickly, still gripping the small furball, hoping that no one would stop him.
-
Bladekit felt his brother being carried away from him. He shrieked with surprise and tried to follow the cat who'd taken his brother away.
-
"Oh no you don't," Mudheart hissed through Raykit's fur. He half-unsheathed his claws and hit the kit (almost gently) in the flank, scooping him up and throwing him towards his mother.
~
Embersong's eyes widened. "NO!" she yowled, trying to gently free the kits from her so she could follow this cat and kill him. "YOU WILL NOT take that kit!" She felt like her heart could break. What was he going to do to Raykit? Was he going to kill him? She felt sure of it. She whispered some hushed words to her kits. "Don't worry. Keep warm, and mommy will be back soon, okay? I have to go do something." She shook them all away from her and sprang at the brown-tabby tom. "Die, foul vermin!"
~
Raykit hung out of the cat's jaws helplessly. He was too weak to even kick his tiny legs. He didn't even squirm, couldn't even open his miniscule jaws to beg his siblings for help. And now his mommy was going to attack the strange cat - what would happen to him? The weak little kit was frightened. He couldn't run for safety if he wanted to, and his mommy looked so mad that she was capable of knocking him to the floor. If that happened, he would REALLY die. He wouldn't even have a chance to right himself!
-
Blazekit fell. He hurt all over, but he was determined to go find his brother. He continued to pursue his brother, but he couldn't get far on wobbly legs.
