    The sound of a tree falling down awoke Jake, he was sleeping in an abandoned human building. He yawned and looked around, their was a sickening scent in the air. He felt thirsty and drank from an abandoned leashed dog bowl, it felt stale and cold. Jake was once a proud police dog, but then the humans died from a disease. He padded out the building feeling bored, the sun was shining bright and it was very hot, it was eerily silent. He ran around a little bit but soon got bored, he sighed, he missed the humans.Jake sauntered through the quiet city, he could see cats, birds and other animals.

    Bella padded around the silent city, it was eerily quiet with no humans around. She smelled a mouse, I guess I'll hunt while I'm here. She thought chasing after the mouse. She chased after the mouse and pounced on it. She didn't feel that hungry so she decided to keep the mouse for later. Padding towards a small den she made, she dug a small hole and threw the mouse in it. "There." She thought out loud. Her voice echoed through the city, startling some of the animals. She decided to take a quick walk, as she padded along she smelled a dog.

    Jake heard the echo. There are more dogs? He thought. He raced towards the sound of the echos, it took him a while to figure out where this dog was but he finally found her, she looked a bit pretty. "Hello?" His voice echoed, scattering the animals.

    Athena

    Athena padded through the city with her pup, Sage, at her side. Sage was the last of her pups, she didnt really want to talk about it... its to painful. The Australian shepherd stopped, sniffed the air and smelled food! She yelped happily and nuzzled her pup in excitement rushing through her body. She ran slowly, but still a little fast so that her pup could catch up and not get lost behind her.

    Sage had a look of confusion on her face, she didnt know what her mother was doing? She didnt know, but by the way she was acting, she knew it was a good thing. She chased her mother going as fast as her little paws could go and she passed her mother a little. She got carried away with the chase and past where her mother was running to. She skidded to a halt when she heard a loud bark from her mother to come back. "What is it mother?" she asked.


    "There is food!" Athena said happily. Her stomach grew even hungrier at the thought of it. She looked at her skinny frame, her ribs were sticking out, and you could tell that she was easy to attack considering she would get tired fast. She walked into the abandoned food house and looked behind her to make sure that Sage was following her.
