I mean, I know she's his friend and ...former lover -- but is there any reason to go get him and bring him back to the mansion?"

    Ever stood up and tossed her book onto the bed. She didn't know when or why, but somewhere along the line when Lucky was talking about Roseline, she had decided she'd risk getting stuffed into this room forever if it meant doing Sabastion -- and Kelsey -- a favor. "I'm probably going to regret it," she said, "but I'll go with you. Sabastion can lock me in here for as long as he wants as punishment for leaving the mansion, but it's better than sitting idly by while he does something stupid."

    Ever smiled and headed to the door behind Lucky. A forlorn look crossed her face at the mention of being carried, but she didn't refuse the offer. She remembered how fast Sabastion was when she had tried to escape the room when she had woken up here, and knew that if she was carried by Lucky, they could get to where Sabastion was quicker. "Okay. Go ahead and carry me. Just don't drop me," she said and laughed slightly at the last bit.

    Luckyrolled her eyes and lifted the girl with ease. She bolted to Roseline's small cabin in the woods. Her home was in between two streams. Named the închis and the lumina, meaning dark and light in Romanian.

    Ever wasn't sure how she felt about being carried at high speed, but when they arrived at Roseline's cabin in the woods, she had had enough and scrambled out of Lucky's arms to stand on her own two feet. "That was... interesting," she commented, rubbing her arms and smoothing her hair down that had been tossed around on the sprint to the cabin. After a heartbeat, she peered at Roseline's house that stood before them and glanced nervously at Lucky before moving toward the front door, the sound of water from the two streams nearby filling her ears. She hoped that Sabastion hadn't done anything too stupid yet.

    "You're coming back to the mansion," Ever said, coming up to stand beside Lucky. She smiled then, not her usual small, nervous smile, but a sure, confident smile that lit up her face. "We're here to bring you back before you do anything stupid. Glad to see that you haven't, by the way. It's nice to know that I won't be getting locked in the room forever, when we get back, for no reason." Her voice was tinged with a slight seriousness, which was probably a result of their argument earlier.

    Ever had the satisfaction of seeing Sabastion get slapped, and her smile widened if possible. If only she could get away with it as easily as Lucky could, but she was fond of her life, and preferred to keep it, even if she was currently living in hell. "Like it or not, Sabastion, you're coming with us. And I think if you try to refuse, Lucky could very well drag your *ss back to the mansion, herself," she said. And her smile grew yet again, if possible. "Remember the duel you two had? Your face still looks pretty bad... imagine what additions she could add on." She giggled then, suddenly unlike herself. For once since she woke up in the mansion, she was confident and snarky.

    Ever's confidence was shattered if only for a moment. She took a step back, heartbeat quickening, before she took a breath and moved forward again. The girl reached out and curled her fingers into the sleeve of Sabastion's shirt, willing herself not to be afraid of him. She was tired of being afraid. "And you know she could kill you if she wanted," she said sternly, meeting his eyes. That smile returned to her face.

    Ever stepped back, letting go of the sleeve of Sabastion's shirt. The girl's eyes found Roseline's, though she looked back at Sabastion after a moment of staring at her. She took a breath, mustering the courage to speak her mind. "Alright then. You wanna stay with her so bad? --" she gestured to Roseline "-- Fine. But think about this: While you're here, having a great time with her, I'll be running, and by the time you get back to the mansion, I'll be gone. Believe me, I thought about running once or twice after you left, but I didn't. Instead, I went with Lucky to find your sorry *ss. What was it that Jagger once said? ...Oh, right. He said that he, including all of the vampires in the mansion, hadn't had any fresh blood in a while. Imagine how much worse that little detail could turn out if the only d*mned human left? But hey, it's your life -- or, you know, if you even have one." The girl smiled that confident, brilliant smile, but thought: I might regret saying those things. But if it helped bring Sabastion back to the mansion, she wasn't overly concerned. Even if she didn't know why she was so determined to save him from Roseline.

    Ever didn't have a real answer to his question. She sighed, shrugging her shoulders. "I...I don't really know," she admitted, "I just know that I care, and I have no explanation as to why." Her green eyes flickered to Roseline as she spoke, and she was about to state that she wasn't Kelsey, when an idea hit her. If she said that she was Kelsey, she might be able to get away with taking Sabastion away from her. After all, Sabastion has said that she acted exactly like Kelsey. "Yes," she answered. "That's right, I am Kelsey. Get away from Sabastion; he's coming with me and Lucky."
