(Not the best starter but eh)
It was dawn. The sun, glowing dully through the haze of clouds, was just rising out of the distant sea. The air was cool and held a bit of humidity as most early morning air did. Gulls drifted high in the sky and added their high screeching to the otherwise peaceful morning. A stocky grey tomcat crawled out of his nest of checkered table cloth and arching his back, stretched a long stretch. He yawned and gazed around the abandoned dinner. It was early to be awake and most of the crew was still sleeping. He decided he wouldn't bother anyone instead he chose to enjoy the morning air. He loved the sea in the morning and any time really. The one-eyed cat casually exited the sea-side restaurant to walk out on the docks. The docks were worn and the wood was damp and old. He could hear the calls of birds and the sound of the pulling waves. The slate cat wiggled his hindquarters before leaping up onto the dock's railing, pulling himself up with his claws and leaving small scratch marks in the wood. There, Kidd sat back on his haunches with his tail dangling from the railing. He gazed out at the calm ocean with his single bright yellow eye. He loved the sea. He always had dreams and aspirations to be close to the great body of water. He was very close to it now, but that did not satisfy him. He remembered a dream, a dream he'd had since he was only 4 moons old. He wanted to be like a real pirate. He thought deeply about this dream.
