He purred fondly. "Sounds like her," he mewed. By the time he was apprenticed, Lilacstar had been chosen as deputy after Emberstorm was killed by greencough. Nightstar shook his head. "I can't believe Highstar lived as long as he had," he mewed, referring to the mighty leader he had been born under. "His lives lasted until I got my second apprentice. Then....Lilacstar chose me. She could have chosen my brother, Earthpelt as deputy." He chuckled softly. "Anyway, where's my deputy, Blazeshadow?"

Dappled shrugged as she picked up a carp from the pile and ate quietly.

The Tom smiled at Dappleleaf. He had always found her fascinating.

Dappled finished her carp and looked up to Nightstar."Do you think wandering paw is up to the task?"she whispered to the tom.

"What," he asked, a little confused. "Going to the Heavenstone? He's gone since he was apprenticed. He should be fine." He looked up and around at his Clan. Blazeshadow should have been getting patrols sorted.(someone pm Blazeshadow's player.)

He gave a quiet sigh and looked at his paws. "I know," he whispered back. "But I can't help my feelings for you."

Dapple leaf sighed."I would if I could,but it's forbidden.And if anyone found out,I would be a traitor.Even worse,you'd lose your place as leader,"she whispered sadly blinking back tears.

He gave another soft sigh and licked at his chest fur. He knew it was forbidden for a medicine cat to have a mate or kits, both of which he had longed for since he first became a warrior. "Then at least help me find someone else," he mewed softly, pressing his muzzle to her ear. "Someone whom I can love like I love you. Then you could help us with kits. And you'll always be there to help me lead."
