  • OOC; Let's start roleplaying! :D Does anyone want to mentor Cactuspaw?

    IC; With a huge yawn Cactuspaw emerged from the apprentice's den. The sky was pink with the light from the sun that was soon to appear. His mind was still foggy from sleep but he wondered if the dawn patrol had left yet. Cactuspaw really wanted to be on it so he could prove he was mature enough to go on more patrols and maybe even into battle.

    Mistpaw was still asleep in the medicine cat's den. She was rolling round in her nest, murmuring "Mamma, please don't go. Please please." She was dreaming about when her mother was sick and Mistpaw had overheard the medicine cat saying to the leader that Mistpaw and Cactuspaw's mother was going to die just like their father had.

  • Applepaw flicked an ear as Cactuspaw padded out and stretched luxuriously, batting an ear as warm pre-dawn light spilled into the den and over his fur. Grunting softly, the ginger tom sat up and licked his fur, smoothing it down and cleaning the moss scraps out of it. He took his time, fairly sure he wouldn't be on the dawn patrol.

  • Goresepaw poked Mistpaw in the flank with a paw. "Mistpaw wake up your making more noise than a badger." he grunted.

    Ashpaw yawned as she exited the apprentice den, she trotted over to Cactuspaw, "Good morning." she said dipping her head in respect. "Do you want to go hunting?" she asked, licking a paw and swiping it over her face.

  • [align=center][color=black]OOC::
    Sorry about lack of being on. I had to leave for a week because of 4H and I completely forgot....

    IC::
    Darkerpaths was awake and watching the other cats. His golden eyes glared around, glowing faintly as his irritation made itself clear. He found himself drawn to the apprentices, yet he knew he'd not get the chance to mentor one himself. The way he acted toward his clanmates...made most think he was hostile and would attack without provoked. How he wished to prove them wrong! To surprise them beyond measure and show himself capable of caring for another cat. Even his name sounded....distrustful. Though he knew why they called him that, and he knew the reason too. He had walked darker paths then the one he was on now, and would walk them again in the future. To keep himself and everyone around him safe, he would walk into a black chaos without return. But only if he needed to.

  • Mistpaw woke up with a gasp. "Sorry. It was just..." she tried to explain, "A really bad nightmare." She blushed, wishing she wasn't so awkward.

    "Sure! That would be great!" Cactuspaw told Ashpaw with a grin. His eyes flickered over to Applepaw grooming himself, and wondered if he should ask the apprentice to come with them. He doesn't look like he's going anywhere anytime soon Cactuspaw thought, although Cactuspaw's own pelt was full of moss and tufts of fur were sticking up all over.

  • Applepaw finished grooming his thick ginger pelt and padded out of the den to settle near the entrance, looking around as he wondered what to do next. He blinked slowly, enjoying the sun on his fur, and noted that a few other apprentices were gathering off to the side.

    "Alright, where do you want to go?" she asked following the tom's gaze. "Whatcha lookin at?" she meowed.

  • OOC; It might be interesting if Cactuspaw developed a crush on Ashpaw, especially as she likes Applepaw. There might a bit of rivalry there. ;)

    IC; "Oh just Applepaw," Cactuspaw said a bit rudely. Hey! Wanna come hunting! he called out to Applepaw. Cactuspaw didn't look happy as he said that. There was something about Applepaw and how popular he was that made Cactuspaw squirm with... what was it? Cactuspaw didn't dare think of the word jealousy.

    "Gorsepaw, I'm gonna go see what the rest of the clan is up to," Mistpaw said quickly, scampering out of the den. She didn't like talking to much to other cats. She was afraid she would slip up and say something stupid.

  • OOC: Ooooooooooooh drama ;P
    IC: Applepaw's ears perked up and he stepped to his paws cheerfully. "Ah, sure!" he meowed, bounding over with a wide grin. He noted the other tom's slightly displeased look, internally frowning but externally retaining his graceful happiness. He wondered what he had done to tick off Cactuspaw, but resolved to ask him later, and not in front of anyone else. "Where are we headed on this fine morning?" the ginger apprentice asked, blinking at Ashpaw and Cactuspaw.

  • This might not be so bad. Applepaw's cheerfulness is a bit contagious, Cactuspaw thought, not realizing the apprentice had noticed his cold attitude. Cactuspaw smiled as he turned to look at Ashpaw. "Where do you think?" he asked her.

    She waved her tail, "I dunno." she mewed. "You can decide Cactuspaw." she said with a yawn, drowsiness still gripped her like a claw.

  • "Let's leave camp and see where our paws take us. Maybe go to the stream if you can stay on your paws?" Cactuspaw teased Ashpaw with a fond smile. He turned toward the camp exit.

  • Applepaw chuckled at Cactuspaw and Ashpaw, his eyes glimmering with amusement as he padded after the other tom. He shook the last scraps of moss out of his pelt as the sun settled on his pelt, warm and soft. He purred, happy to be out with his friends.

    Mintkit peered out of the nursery, his pale eyes nervous as he watched the hustle and bustle around camp. Everyone was so big! It startled the little tom and he stayed crouched there as he watched.

  • Cactuspaw caught the scent of a mouse nearby. He turned his head toward where the trail went, raising his tail to figure out the direction the wind was blowing. Puffing up his dark grey fur, Castuspaw dropped into a slight crouch.

    "Mintkit, are you alright?" Mistpaw called out to the kit with a cheerful smile.

  • Applepaw paused as Cactuspaw stopped, settling back so as not to interrupt the other tom's hunt. His green eyes watched with interest as the dark grey tom stalked forwards. His tail curled around his paws and he held his breath, the scent of mouse wreathing around him as he searched for the prey.

    Mintkit jumped as Mistpaw called to him. He offered her a soft smile, leaning back into the nursery wall. "Yes, I'm fine, thanks," he replied softly, tail curling around his paws and ears pricked.

  • Cactuspaw followed the scent of the mouse around the bases of the cottonwoods, but the little fluffy rodent was already scampering away. As his dark green eyes spotted to creature, a surge of adrenaline and determination to impress filled him. Almost slipping, the apprentice took a clumsy leap and reached the mouse, catching it in his large paws that still resembled those of a kit. The mouse with killed quickly. Cactuspaw scooped it up in his jaws and reluctantly turned back to the others, a little flushed with embarrassment.

    Mistpaw was intent on making a new friend but she didn't want to scare the kit off. She gently walked over to him with a friendly attitude and a kind smile. "I bet you can't wait to be an apprentice and get out of camp," Mistpaw said cheerfully, waving her silver tail towards the camp exit. "Have you played any pranks on the warriors yet? I used to do that all the time when I was a kit," she said, reminiscing what had not been very long ago. Not many would suspect Mistpaw to be the mischievous type because she was relatively shy, but she had been the trickster in the nursery at that time.

  • "Nice catch!" Applepaw smiled cheerfully, an easygoing bounce in his step as he made his way towards the other tom. It was a little clumsy, but first catch of the morning. His eyes gleamed as he perked up his ears and looked around, padding a little further into the forest.

    Mintkit looked up at her wide-eyed. "R-Really? You played tricks on the warriors?" He blinked slowly. "But they're so big!" The little tom sat down, watching the apprentice with a mixture of nervousness and awe.
