    The man shrugged. "No not since this morning," he said. Rei didn't seem to be paying much attention as he stared past the man Aimi was talking to. "Aimi...if her car was tampered with, if a bomb was placed on it maybe it went off while she was in the car on her way back," he said. That would explain why she wasn't here. They hadn't seen any accidents or anything on the way here but maybe Kana took a different route home than the one they had used to get here.

    Rei waited as Aimi searched. He watched the screen as she looked. There was a very recent news article showing a car wreck the car looked like Kana's or well what was left of it. The story said more details to come and only said there had likely been a malfunction with the car causing the accident.

    Rei nodded he already had followed the same train of thought. While he didn't say it he wondered if Kana had even survived. "That was no accident," he said as he got into the car.

    "Exactly" Aimi said and sped off towards where she realized the car was "Remember, another team might of already been called in for this so stay close" she told him and pulled up next to the scene "See any sign of a car leaving with her?"

    Rei nodded. They weren't supposed to be away from the base without Kana so if another team was there they might get shot. "There," he said pointing at an emergency vehicle. Near it on the ground was a group of people around a stretcher with Kana on it. By the way they were rushing she was still alive. One of them was holding an IV bag above her. There was one of the paddy wagons there as well, one of the other divisions was already here. He got out of the car and glanced at the remains of the car. There was no way Kana would've survived it if she was in the car when it had gone off but she wasn't dead so she probably had only been near it when it went off not in the car.


    "What are you doing here?" the inspector from Division 2 called coming over to them one of his enforcers close behind him.

    Aimi got out of the car and watched Kana as she spoke "We got worried about our inspector so we came to look her, seeing she wasn't home we were led here, is that a problem?" she demanded, she had worked in a few of their divsions since she was moved a lot.

    "You aren't supposed to leave without an inspector," the division 2 inspector said frowning at Aimi. "You always were stubborn," he said. He had worked with her a few times. He glanced at Rei then aimed his Dominator at him to get a reading.


    Rei froze seeing the Dominator pointed at him. He considered fleeing but decided against it. That would only make it worse.


    The inspector whistled. "His psycho pass is high," he said sounding genuinely surprised. But he had already lowered his Dominator and didn't seem to have an intent to shoot. The information from the Dominator had indicated Rei's enforcer status was pending.


    "Next time you need to follow proper protocol, you can't just come and go as you please. I'm sure there will be some punishment but for now I can't take you back just yet," the inspector said. "Go ahead and check on Kana if you want to but don't leave."

    "I'll do what I want thank you, I don't take orders from people who don't hold my leash" Aimi growled, bringing Rei over to Kana "Is she ok?" she asked, frowning "Do you know who did this?" she demanded

    The inspector sighed and turned to the enforcer following them. "Keep an eye on them, if they try to leave tell me," he said. He wasn't as Aimi had put it, the one holding her leash but Kana wasn't able to do that now and it was his job to keep them in check. If they tried to leave he'd have to shoot them or go with them.


    Rei followed Aimi. He agreed with what she'd said but he was more of the quiet type rather than one to say something like she had. He watched the medics around Kana but he didn't really feel attached to her so he wasn't all that bothered by it. He'd only known her for a few hours.


    One of the medic's assistants looked over at Aimi. "I don't know," she said. "They can't get her to stabilize. A helicopter should be here soon for her, the hospital might be able to help her more. I have no idea who did this, you should ask the inspector over there he would know better than me about that."

    Aimi frowned "We're her inforcers" she told the assistant "When I find out who did this I'll go after them personally" she growled, looking at Kana "She's gone to much and this won't help at all"

    The medic assistant glanced between both of them having obviously not expected to hear that they were enforcers. But then she caught sight of the Dominator at Aimi's side. "Just stay out of the way of the medics please," she said. It was rather stating the obvious but they were trying to save Kana. A low hum started to grow as the helicopter approached.


    "Why do you care about her?" Rei asked. He looked completely unbothered by all of this.

    "I move around a lot and I don't like it" Aimi sighed "I don't want to be moved again" she explained as she watched the helicopter land "I swear though...I'm personally going after who ever did this"

    Rei nodded he could understand that. It wasn't Kana that she cared for it was looking out for herself. "I'll help," he offered. He didn't have much better to do. As soon as the helicopter landed Kana was loaded into it and taken away along with a handful of the medics who had gone with her.

    Aimi walked over to the other inspector "What do you know" she demanded "And don't give me any crap, I want my answers now, she's my inspector therefor me and Rei can handle this, we don't need an inspector telling us what to do" she told them "Now what do you know"

    "Aimi settle down," the inspector said. "I did want to speak to you about it, we could use the help. But you know as well as I do that you two can't just go off and handle it without an inspector. Unless you want to get shot or have my division have to hunt you down you need an inspector. I could take you in right now for just leaving the base alone."

    "My Psycho-Pass level has been down well enough before for me to leave her and try to become an inspector! But you idiots won't let me leave!" Aimi snapped "Now tell me what I want to know and I'll do what I want, Kana tells me what I should do, not you...not anymore"

    "Yes but it didn't stay down," the inspector said. "And that's a call Sibyl makes not me. Listen Kana can't tell you anything right now so you fall under division 2 now until she is replaced or gets better. Either you work with us on the case or not at all."
