A nervous laughed rolled off her lips and she stole a glance towards the leopard, her wings not as stiff as they were before. "Never knew my mom or siblings, dad disappeared a little after I became an apprentice." The tigress looked exhausted as she retold where her family was. "Oh.. yea, I come from DarkClan. Hence my ability to hide a lot of my emotions. Lancelot believed if you didn't have emotions, you made a better soldier."

Malkyn flinched just slightly at the tone in her voice until it lowered, leaving Mal's tail flicking softly. The tigress murmured something about emotions and masks. "I used to wonder how everyone kept such an emotionless mask when I was just a sobbing idiot of in the corner when something bad happened." The female pursed her lips slightly, a frown crossing her muzzle. "Pushing others away is sort of hard-wired in my head at the moment. The first impression most get from me is 'don't talk to her or get on her bad side'. I see it in their expression when I meet joiners at the border. Damn near scared one off." The last part was more of a growl of frustration, her eyes moving to watch Perse quietly.
