Bump?
Ooc: My apologies, I've been in such a foul mood and busy with my birthday coming up. So I haven't had the time to rp. I swear today, probably later, I will reply
Ic;;
Ooc;; Oh no need to worry, please don't feel pressured because of this, okay? Take as much time as you need. Happy early birthday btw. uwu
Ic: As normal, Lucy had been deep in her thoughts, processing everything that had happened a few moments before. Shd was deducing exactly what her dream meant, if anything, and if it was a buried memory to her past. She was so lost in her own mind that she hadn't noticed Druain was currently in her room, until he spoke. It was clear to see that she had been startled, her dream had made her lose her impenetrable guard for a moment.
She whipped her head to face him, eyes blazing a fiery a green color; wariness clearly manifesting in their depths. Her shoulders had hunched on impulse, she looked ready to attack. Then her posture softened, seeing that it was only him.
Reason made her realize her error, he was merely checking to see what all the fuss was about. It made her feel stupid that she had once again jumped to conclusions. A small part of her reasurred herself, her 'caution' let her survive this long. She stood up and smoothed out the wrinkles in her clothing, trying to put on the act that she was professional. And by doing so, she revealed that not only was her cloak on the ground, but one of the small vials was cracked. She played no attention to it as she looked Druain evenly.
"I apologized if I disturbed you, or anyone for the matter. Nothing is wrong, I merely had fallen asleep on the ledge over there," she motioned behind her, "and when I moved in my sleep, I fell off of it. It just starlted me a bit is all." she explained casually, as if she had only made a large thump and hadn't screamed.
She wanted to sound as sincere as possible, because Druain looked extremely pissed and exhausted. He looked like how one parent would like at their little one if they did something bad. Lucy did not like him treating her like that, but getting on his bad side by opening her mouth would not help matters. First get them to tolerate you, then you can start speaking your mind. Until then, stay quiet she told herself. She looked at Druain patiently, waiting for his reaction.
Ooc: And yes, I did enjoy seeing Mockingjay. So much that I had to get the books and now I'm reading Catching Fire
Thank youuu :3
[sub]Ic: In all honesty, Druain was anything but amused. Slumping slightly, and rubbing at his eyes and temples a practically silent huff was heard. Becoming of lately, he had found his temper shortened, as well as his patience. Maybe he was just paranoid. Whatever the reason was; he was positive he had heard panic, and as heir to the throne, it was his responsibility to manage his kingdom accordingly. While he wasn't a mind reader, Lucy's thoughts were on point. The darkhaired god was absolutely exhausted, and was confirmed with a full and completely on point assumption, the Laufeyson was indeed pissed. Druain would have scolded her and gone off on a very strict rant upon proper behavior and etiquette, but he heaved a sigh, remembering that she was a newcomer to his home. To be on point, he decided she wasn't exactly telling him the entirety of the situation, but chose to push the thought back to the edge of his mind. Druain stiffened, knitted his eyebrows together and frowned deeply. "Perhaps try to sleep somewhere in which you won't fall and wake the entire palace, hm?" Venom was in his voice, and gave a heavy blink before turning to leave. He assumed she'd say something else, and made sure his steps were average paced, but light and elegant. Druain himself needed sleep if he wished to get anything done by next morning come, and all the ruckus wasn't helping his restless mind.
Ooc:
Lucy was back to her calculating nature, watching Druain's every move. Her mind had put up walls around her memory, so there was no use dwelling on the subject. Still....it bothered her how easily she could forget. Bothered wasn't the right word, no, more like perplexed. She wanted to know exactly what was happening in her head. Reading other people, normally, came easy to her as if it were instinct. But her reading her own mind, however, was not an easy task.
Her hands twitched at her side as she listened, cracking her kunckles in a method to ease herself. That, and not to throw herself at the young god. In all honesty, she had no reason to except that his whole presence just made her patience run thin.
Her annoyance was visible. For the magnificent, golden glowing room before was now dark, making her eyes stand out in a dangerous way. As soon as she turned she bared her teeth at him, not making a sound. Then she composed herself before answering. "I suppose so, good night," she said this as pleasantly as she could. She also turned away, picking up her cloak but not before stepping on a vile. "God d*mn it, that was my last bottle." she cursed under her breath.
Lucy took the cloak and used it to wipe up the mess. Deciding it was better to keep it on the ground instead of anyone noticing, she left it there. Pretending as if nothing happened, she walked back over to her ledge and gazed out. She expected to hear her door close and waited in a tense manor until so.
Ooc: Question. With your permission, may I make this rp into a story? I wanted to write it on my Wattpad. Of course things will be altered to make it all flow smoothly, but not too much.
[sub]Ic: Tension was the utmost obvious thing in the room, and had caused Druain to pause. The male had never truly noticed the brightness of Lucy's eyes, and it was actually kind of shocking. Not shocking as a scare factor, but shocking as in intriguing. With her fierce expression and bright green eyes, she reminded him of, of an animal Taking to mind it probably wasn't the nicest thought, he couldn't deny it. Maybe he was onto something. It was no doubt she was a special girl, Druain didn't hold a thread of doubt when it came to that. But he didn't know what made her so special. Sure she had good strength, mentally and physically. But there was something he couldn't put his finger on that he knew Lucy hadn't told him. Yet. He'd know it if it killed him. Well, not himself. He'd kill her before that happened. The life of a god was more important than that of any mortal. It was fair and it was just. The sound of Lucy's voice and the crushing of glass had caused him to turn back around. Annoyance was present as she went back to her windowsill perch, and silence rang in his ears. For what seemed like hours, Druain glowered at her, as she had deliberately ignored him. "You don't listen very well, do you?" Turning completely back around, he crossed his arms and held his ground firm.
Ooc:
Ooc: So sorry for replying so late! Btw, love your avatar and signature.
Ic: Lucy didn't even bother turning around. She kept her gaze firmly trained outside. Did the outside always look this pretty? Did it always look so...peaceful? The feeling of peace was almost forgotten by Lucy, for she lived in a world full of war. If she went back home now, and looked up at the stars now, she knew it wouldn't be the same. Earth was eerie at night, danger lurking at every turn. The Chitari were use to dark places, so it had become especially dangerous at night.
She practically feel his expression of annoyance as she thought of her home. Never before in her life did she feel this lost. It was normal for her to live her life in solitude, but now it seemed as if she were the only human left. Lucy had always been an in depth thinker, she had almost forgotten Druain had even asked her something. Almost.
She found the whole listening situation sort of ironic. With her abilities, her hearing was superior compared to any human. Sometimes she chose to ignore others, despite her enhanced hearing. But in this situation, she had heard him, quite clearly. "Oh I'm not going to sleep," she started off, turning her head slightly to look at him out of the corner of her eye. They were sharp, focused, she was wide awake now and wouldn't miss anything. "I've already slept enough, I didn't even plan to sleep for as long as I did," she hadn't really slept that long. At least 3 maybe 4 hours at most. "I'm now going to keep watch. I mean what, with you being able to open my door freely that means others must be able to as well. And I don't want to be, shall I say, 'stabbed in the back'. Figuratively and literally speaking that is." she explained calmly, turning her head to face him fully.
[sub]Ic: The quiet returned after his question, and Druain held back an impatient huff. He really didn't have all night, but he would try with all his might to be as patient as he could. Lucy was a human after all, and he had to constantly remind himself she wouldn't be used to Asgard's godly ways and such. Even with the rudeness she was showing, Druain was determined to not to take it to heart. Or mind for that matter. Immediately his attention was redirected to Lucy as she had begun to speak, and he was slightly confused. Why wouldn't she sleep? Perhaps it wasn't just the fall part nor to her screaming. Maybe she dealt with night terrors? When he was younger he'd known some of the little servants to have such. He'd never had really any himself. Sure he'd had threatening dreams, everyone had. But nothing that left him screaming. Perhaps he'd look into it. When she turned to face him, and finished her slightly snarky remark, his expression ever so slightly softened, and he almost genuinely laughed. She felt unprotected? That was the most ridiculous thing he'd ever heard! "You feel unsafe here?" It was a genuine question, and he loosened his sharp stance. "I assure you, Asgard is much safer than that Midguard home of yours." Sure, it was a remark used to taunt, but Druain honestly wanted to hear her thoughts.
Ooc: No worries, I think I've probably made you wait just as long. And probably didn't apolgize? I'm forgetful a lot of times and skip over things/forget if I mentioned thingsThank you. And I only just now saw your question, I hadn't meant to look over it, please feel free and go on ahead! I would be everything including fine if you did so!! I hope you haven't been waiting this long on me to approve, you wouldn't have even had to ask if you didn't want to. I'm chill with just about everything, no sweat.
Ooc: Ok, I just wanted to make sure. I will give you credit for your characters, and if you want to you can proof read and comment on any part of the story. I'm taking the posts directly from this rp, but I'm changing them slightly so that they run smoothly like an actual story.
Ic: Lucy studied Druain after she had spoken, watching his posture, facial expressions, anything. He and his father acted very similar. Not only did they both look alike, but their faces both remained like statues, showing little emotion. It was a task to read him, but she was determined to figure out what made him tick. There it was, a look of confusion. It was only a glimmer in his eyes, but she saw it. Nothing could escape her gaze.
Wait, now his expression softened. Ah, part of that statue like facade had weakened slightly. Did he feel bad? No, no, of course not. Why would he feel pity? Perhaps because you seem helpless? she questioned herself. She mentally snarled at the thought. Lucy focused her attention back on him. Ah, that is right, she had forgotten his status. Not really, she had actually forgotten how sheltered he must be. Because why would a prince ever be forced to see the suffering?
Lucy turned her body 90° so that she was fully facing Druain. She wanted him to see that she was fully paying attention, and not just casually taking note that he was present. Lucy watched his stance softened as well, and she offered a small smile in return. It was more a smirk really. "I'll be the judge of that." she replied, glancing out her window again and resting her hand on the cool of seal of the window. Her smile turned almost sad as she gazed at the shimmering rainbow bridge as well as the city.
"It's almost ironic, how normally a place one calls home is considered safe. But my home never was and, possibly, never will be," she turned back around to face him.
"I do apologize if I have come off as....rude to you. I'm so used to treating everyone equally that, well, I forgot my place here shall I say." she couldn't believe she was doing this, but she wanted to be on good terms with Druain. This meant apologizing for her standoffish behavior. She gave a curt bow after she was done speaking. "I do hope now we can -how do I word this. Instead of just tolerating each other, I'd think I would be much more pleasurable, for both of us, if we could somehow become partners. A Midgardian term meaning that we are on the same team, the same side, do you see where I'm getting at?" she asked, putting her hands behind her back and tilting her head slightly as she watched him.
[sub]Ic: Druain shifted his stance a tad as he got Lucy's full attention. Her voice was strong and it caught his own attention; but he decided against saying anything, especially since she was speaking. He did of course have right to interrupt, but he wouldn't. Her first sentence made him stiffen, and exhale sharply, but quietly. Druain hadn't asked for smack-talk, he'd asked for a reasonable answer. Well, to be honest he hadn't asked for anything, he'd made smart himself. The thought was dropped as quickly as it had came. But when Lucy spoke again, he returned his attention to her. Offense came again at the bluntness of her words, but he was glad she wasn't fumbling and stumbling over her words like the little blonde medic from earlier that day. Druain realized with a mental jolt he still wasn't focusing, and with her last sentences he paid his utmost attention. He quirked a brow, and slightly narrowed his jade-green eyes, a trace of a mischievous smirk marking his features. "Are you...proposing an alliance?" This was much to easy. Genuinely, much to easy. Something felt wrong. Maybe it was his lack of sleep talking, but he wasn't trusting enough just yet. Nevertheless, his grin melded into something a bit more smug. "Or is this some sort of joke? Because it's a bit late for jokes, and I'm going to chose to take this seriously, Lucy." Druain's words were slightly enunciated, but not necessarily on purpose. Sleeplessness was getting to him, and he honestly wasn't really feeling up to any little games. ((Which was almost funny, coming from the son of a man who could go for tricks any time of day- or night even he'd even go on to say.))
Ooc: Thank you, again. That would be perfectly fine with me !
Ooc: I am so terribly sorry for the wait, holidays ya know? So in that note Merry Christmas, or any other holiday that you celebrate. I hope it was enjoyable
Ic: Lucy watched him as he practically threatened her. She gave a silent huff of annoyance. Oh well, she could understand why he felt the need to give her a warning. Lucy had said that offer like it was nothing, and she honestly believed it was. All she wanted was to be able to continue her work with any interruption from pesky gods who thought they could control her. She would never sink to that level.
Lucy gave him a look, one of her eyebrows raised. She dropped it then and let go of a little air she had forgotten to get rid of from her lungs. "It is not a joke, I am being completely serious. Whether or not you believe me is entirely your decision," she replied, going back over to the window. She only gazed outside for a moment before pacing back over to him. She studied him for a solid moment in the quiet and replied. "I can easily tell that you are tired, so perhaps making a decision at this moment wouldn't be appropriate. We can branch on the subject tomorrow if you wish, or pretend nothing ever happened." she walked over towards the door to see him out.
Either way, she would make sure that he was leaving even if she didn't have an answer. She had to process all that had happened here tonight, and hopefully save what was discarded of that mixture on the floor.
[sub]Ic: Lucy's agitation was the first thing Druain noticed after he'd spoken. It made his smirk deepen, and his eyebrows arched a tad. It was almost amusing to see her in such a state. While it wasn't the nicest thought, he was being honest. And that was the only thing he could be. That was a lie. He could also be a liar. The face Lucy had made at him almost made him snicker, while he wasn't feeling the best himself, her annoyance was enough to fuel him onward. When the green-eyed female spoke again; Druain gave a heavy blink, showing he acknowledged what she had said. The quiet came quickly, and the god took a deep, but quiet breath. It wasn't really a sigh, it was mainly something to show he was ready for her to continue. Even if she hadn't noticed, or hadn't paid attention, she continued on. Druain could help but feel offense immediately, and flicked his eyebrows upwards in a sarcastic manner and begrudgingly agreed, pursing his lips and glancing away just to sigh. When Lucy had finished, and gestured for him to leave, the dark-haired male couldn't help but give a dry chuckle. His expression slightly darkened as he turned to her, you could see it in his eyes. Lightly cocking his head, and running his tongue lightly across his lips he straightened a bit more. Clasping his hands neatly behind his back, and making his way over, Druain placed on a smile that could be easily classified as false, but sly."You're quite the venturesome girl, Lucy." He stopped at the door, and met her gaze. "But in a place like this, I suggest you try and constrain yourself." Giving her an inadvertently hard pat on the shoulder; and downplaying her request as a mortal whim, the young Laufeyson gave her an condescending smile, and left.
Ooc: No worries, I had my own family holiday stuff also! Merry Christmas to you also! ((Judging by what you just mentioned, I'm going to presume that's also what you celebrated a few days ago.)) I hope the same to you as well! c:
Lucy waited until he was gone then she quietly shut the door. She had to restrain herself from slamming it in his face or his fleeting backside. That would only show that he was getting to her. As soon as the door was shut tightly she silently screamed, threw curses, and had a mini temper tantrum right there near the door. Once she was done she paced for a good bit trying to calm herself down.
Ugh! Gods, humans, the likes of then! They all were the same! All equally unbearable. How in the universe was she going to handle them? She needed information and the only way to obtain it was to get close. But she had no skill in that art.
Lucy stopped pacing and decided to busy herself as she thought. She crouched down near the glass vile she had broken and tsked. Great, her one and only advantage was now ruined. She had none of her usual resources here to make another misture, and good heavens, who knew what things they had in that medical ward? Nope, she would only cross that bridge if necessary. She wiped up whatever residue was left and put her cloak on the edge of the bed.
She had to get some sleep or she might literally explode if she kept thinking of Druain. His 'I'm better than you' smirk, they way he acted like she was so below him, argh! Ok, that was not helping. Just ignore him, you'll show him he was sorry to ever get on your bad side she told herself.
A little bit of smile made it's way on Lucy's face. Yes, he didn't know the full extent of her powers now did he? Well she'd show him. She'd show them all.
With that thought in her mind, any thoughts of peace had vanished, she fell into an angry sleep.
Ooc: I'm assuming time skip to morning here right?
Ic;;
Ooc;; I'd think so, yeah! c: Just a quick question before I reply though, would she wake up alone, or would the little blonde handmaiden be there waiting for her?? And even yet, would you rather her go to the training grounds and find him, or have them walk together?
Sorry for all the questions, just don't want to be flying blind. uwu"
Ooc: It's up to whether or not the girl is there, it all depends on if they want her to be prepped for the day. I feel like she'd just meet him at the training grounds, then she'd remember last night and show him what she's capable of if you know what I mean. And it's fine, ask whatever you want xD
Ic;; The morning came sooner than expected for the young teen, as she started her day off in not the best manner. She'd gotten up late, and been yelled at by the chief medic, as well as a few of her other superiors. And even had managed to put her shirt on backwards. Everyone acted so sure of themselves, so arrogant there in Asgard. But it wasn't like she couldn't speak out against it; it was the fact she wouldn't do it. Even thinking about back-talking her superiors made or mouth dry. Not like she cared what her superiors thought of her, just the fact that the chitari certainly weren't the most...polite race of outer-planetary beings to deal with. They actually sort of frightened her. But then again, a few of the injuries she'd seen in her time as a healer also frightened her. She had seen her share of impaled soldiers and probably enough blood and guts to make even the toughest war generals sick. She scrunched up her nose in detestment, and decided to go check on her acquaintance. As expected, no one else had offered to help, so she went on her own with a spare uniform. It was what she had been instructed to send, but she felt Lucy probably needed something a bit more...rough 'n' tumble per-say, so she'd secretly snatched a better pair of boots and some archer's armor. Archer's armer was compact, lightweight, and did it's job fairly well. The blonde hoped it was alright she'd done this for her older friend. So she went to the room from before, stood on her tip-toes, and gave a quiet knock to her door. "Lucy? Are you awake?" Her voice was quiet, but loud enough to be heard. The young teen hoped she hadn't awoken her companion.
Ooc;;
Thank you then ! I hope it's alright I start out from the girl's POV ? eueMan I really need to find a name for her
Ooc: It's quite alright, perhaps look up Asgardian female names and see where that takes you? xD that's what I did for one character I created.
Ic: Lucy had been up long before sunrise, only lightly dozing after Druain's leave. It had calmed her effectively, but still she was on edge. Curse her memory, for remembering unnecessary events and forgetting the ones that count. To ensure herself that she wasn't too upset, she had begun meditation as soon as she woke up. Breathing in and out, canceling the real world out. She had learned over the years that by doing this she could almost "turn her brain off" for a little.
She didn't even jump when the young medic knocked on her door. As if she had been expecting her. "Come in," she lightly called, opening her eyes at last. The room was a stark contrast from what she had closed her eyes too. Flooded with light, it must have been at least 8, maybe 7 am. However time could perhaps run differently here on Asgard.
Lucy eased herself out of her old position and stood to her full height, crossing the room to greet the girl. "I didn't expect you again so soon, what have you brought for me? May I?" she asked, pointing to the clothes the girl was holding in her arms. When she took the armor she examined it carefully. Well, she had been expecting some sort of uniform, if she were to join this army. Or whatever they called it. She tossed it a little in her hands. "Hmm, light, interesting. I thought the armor here would be heavier. I am glad it's not," she commented with a pleased nod.
Ooc2: I do hope you do not mind if I somewhat power play. It's for the story, to make it have more of a story-essence to it. If you wish, you can do so with my character as well, I do not mind.
[sub]
Ooc: Oh, I'd never thought of that. I'd always used Norse names hah. ((Norse is the same, if I'm correct?))I'm thinking Kenna 'Knowledgeable', or Kelda 'Full of Life'. Do either of these sound any good?
Ic: The teen didn't say anything at first, but she gave Lucy a quick blink of her amber eyes. "I apologize if I disturbed you. I just decided it would be fair to check on you; with you being our guest and all." Her lips tilted upwards into a minuscule smile, although the rest of her face showed no emotion. It wasn't a real smile, it was a take at being mannerly. Holding her breath as Lucy examined the apparel, she hoped she liked it. If she didn't, the young teen honestly wasn't sure what she'd do. However; when she did show a positive reaction, the blonde exhaled. "I'm glad to hear you like it." While she would have gone on, she silenced herself, presuming she had the same views as Druain over chit-chat. She had always been taught to only say just enough, although sometimes she did get carried away. Perhaps that's why she always had so much trouble making friends? She chose not to think about it. "I'll excuse myself to the hallway for you to change and get yourself ready for the day, come out when you're ready."
Ooc: I don't mind at all, it's perfectly fine with me.And sorry about the super short post, I don't have a lot of muse wheezes
Ooc: Sorry for lack of posting, mid-terms are keeping me.
Ic: "Alright, thanks." she replied as the girl left. Lucy made a mental note to ask what her name was instead of referring to her as "the girl". She moved to the bed in the room and placed everything down. Spreading everything first, she then began to change. Lucy would miss her old attire of cameo pants and black tank tops, but it would be necessary to fit in.
Each article of clothing that was replaced, scars apon scar were shown. She did not mind them, she believed they were reminders. Of when she slipped up in battle, a reminder to improve. Lucy was sort of a perfectionist. Her moves has to flawless, they had to be delivered effectively, and they had to be....over all....perfect. The young woman never realized that she even was a perfectionist, but she constantly scold herself after every injury. Somewhere in the back of her mind, something told her that she was only human. But another thought told her that she was not human no matter how much she tried.
Shaking herself out of her sad state of mind, she examined herself in a mirror. Huh, not bad. The armor was easy to move and didn't seem to effect any of her techniques. Folding her clothes up neatly on the bed, Lucy opened the door. "Everything fits nicely, thank you for your effort." she said reappearing.
