Arbok, maybe Victreebell would be more fitting."[/glow] As he ranted on, he didn't even bother to acknowledge the possibility that these thieves could actually be a threat, though such a notion had become significantly less believable as the battle had gone on.

    Jake handed the pokeball to the professor, his hand slightly shaking and a startled expression on his face. "Thanks." He said, turning around and walking out of the lab. Wow, so Lily has a special power? That's a secret I HAVE to keep.

    Erin nodded in interest at Lacey's words. "Viridian Forest, huh?" she murmured to herself thoughtfully. "Of course we can keep this secret." She turned to look at the pokeball Rowan had just received from Jake. "Could you be a little bit more specific? What was the pokemon doing in its rampage? Come to think of it, what species is it?"

    "Oh, it's an Absol. And it was destroying buildings and hurting people, so you may want to be careful with it." Jake said, continuing out. "If you need me I'll be heading off for the oreburgh gym."

    Erin had perked up a little at the mention of it being an Absol. That's almost the opposite of how one should be behaving. And she would know best, she'd met Absols before...
    "Professor?" she asked, turning to him. "If you'd like, I could keep that Absol with me and do field analysis on them. That's really, really strange behavior for one. And don't worry about me getting hurt!" she threw in quickly, waving her hand. "Pokemon usually calm down after being caught. I think we just need to find out to start if its rampage was voluntary or if it was being controlled in some way."
    She paused again, wondering. Was now a good time to ask? Shrugging her shoulders, she went for it. "Uh. I've also wanted to know for a while. I haven't explored the Sinnoh region yet, or taken its challenge, so I had wanted to ask for some time from the lab. If you want me to continue work, field analysis is the perfect way to do it..." In her mind, she was hoping to get the response she wanted to hear.

    Jake started to walk out of Sandgem, his pokemon now sitting on his shoilder and observibg the surroundings. "You know Star, you've been very happy recently. Do you think you might evolve soon?" He askedx knowing there would be no reply.

    The Prof stroked his whiskers. "Would be excellent field work for you. Good experience. It's high time you explored the Sinnoh region, anyhow... go for it, then! Consider Absol your starter Pokémon. You can catch others, battle gyms or contests, whatever you please!" The Prof shuffled around in his pockets before producing a digital camera. "Use this to take pictures of Pokémon you see, both trained and wild. Study the relationships between trainers and Pokémon."
