  • Rainkit put his tail on Fowerkit's shoulder. "It's ok. He doesn't know what he's saying." He said turning his head toward Nightkit. He's eyes were like shooting daggers. Rainkit turned back to Flowerkit, his eyes softening. "What were you thinking about?" He asked.

  • The anger directed at him from both of his siblings made Nightkit's pelt tingle. His eyes narrowed and his pelt stood on end. Why couldn't the other two understand? Unless they wanted to go the same way as their parents, they had to show that they were loyal to Shadowclan, and that meant putting aside feelings for cats outside of the clans, even their parents.

Of course, no matter what he said, Nightkit couldn't deny that, sometimes at night, he would get whiffs of his mother's scent, his father's voice. Suddenly his tail dropped and he lowered his head, a wave of sorrow washing over him.

"I try not to think about them." he muttered quietly. Then, he shook himself, remembering that he was the oldest, and he needed to be strong, especially if his siblings weren't. Readopting his only half-hearted anger, he shook his head and turned to pad out of the nursery again. "If they cared, why didn't they take us with them?! They left us here, to be raised by the clan...they don't deserve our sadness!" He growled with his back to his siblings.

  • Flowerkit felt a tear roll down her cheek, starting to feel a bit more sympathy for Nightkit. Her brother was angry at their parents, and was trying to replace them with Shadowclan. On the other hand, Flowerkit felt the opposite. She wanted her parents to be there and replace Shadowclan. But neither way would ever happen, and now she more understood that. "Nothing..." she mumbled to Rainkit, and turned away. She needed time to think these things through.
