  • Bearpaw saw the grass ahed of him move and scented the air. It was a vole. He then made sure he was down wind of the prey and stalked slowly, stepping over things that could cause a sound. He then approached the vole and sprang. He caught the vole and killed it swiftly so that it wouldn't suffer long.

Foxwing watched the apprentice. Even she wasn't that good at hunting in the open when she was an apprentice.

He was about to answer with yes when the brambles that blocked the entryway were waved aside and Nighteye wandered in, holding her sore eye with a paw. Coppermask shy his jaws quickly and shyly backed into his corner, fur on end with surprise.

  • OOC: is it wrong that i totally ship panthermask? you know what, i don't care. they'd be so goddamned adorable <333

Brackenflame lounged boredly in camp, tail waving from side to side. The tabby tom spotted rustling at the camp entrance just as the scent of Mistyfall and prey wreathed around him. Rising to his paws, the feline trotted over to the gray (?) she-cat with a flick of a tail. "Nice catches," he murmured, gesturing with a paw to her prey.

  • OOC: xD Okay, that would be adorable. Too bad they're med cats haha.

Also, Tide has decided to leave the roleplay. The means Rustfang and Dayshine are gone from the RP, so Patchpaw needs a new mentor and the Clan needs a new deputy.

IC: Lightnngwhisker scented the air, glancing at Sorrelpaw. He flicked his tail. "Why don't we go out on the moors a little way, and see if we can find a rabbit?" He suggested. The white tom wanted to see his apprentice run.

Pantherpaw glanced over at Coppermask, then back at Nightfeather. "Um..." She swallowed hard, then tried to speak without stuttering. "How c-can we help you, N-Nightfeather?" Her bright green eyes skittered up to the eye, then away again.

Silverstar nodded to herself and kept her eyes on Bearpaw. She appreciated the speed of his kill. It proved he respected his prey, which she found to be a good judge of character. It wasn't just hunting that made a good warrior.

  • Bearpaw stood and thought. He then decided to try another area if the open field. He padded off, wondering how long his assessment would be, he was exited to become a warrior.

  • Sorrelpaw nodded eagerly, letting her mentor take the lead out into the moor. She waved her tail enthusiastically, excited to get to run. The slender tortie's mind wandered briefly to her brother, wondering how he was doing, before snapping back to the present and the task at hand.

Dandeionface had caught a few things by now and decided to head back to camp. The mentors probably wanted time train their apprentices, and the fluffy cream tabby didn't want to aimlessly wander the trees until they were done training. Whisking his tail back an forth, he gathered up his catches and padded towards the camp.

Mistyfall purred and spoke around a muzzle full of crow. "Vhy Vtnk Buu," she mewed, her mouth full of midnight black feathers.

Coppermask shrunk back into the corner, his fur pressed against the cold grey stone. He hadn't been expecting visitors, not at such an important moment. A spark of uneasyness flashed in him before fear flooded through his pelt as would a dawning realization. Had Nightfeather heard him speak? Had his voice been loud enough that everyone in camp had heard? His eyes clouded over like a deer's in the basking glow of headlights, and his whiskers twitched in nervousness.

    OOC

Mistyfall is a she-cat, and if you'd like, she can mentor Patchpaw. :)

  • A chuckle escaped Brackenflame's throat, watching black feathers obstruct the she-cat's words. A thick tail wrapped neatly over large paws as the tabby tom focused clear optics on Mistyfall. "Have you eaten yet?"

  • OOC: Okay, that would be great, Killua! Thank you. I also have a question for you all. Should we just pretend Rustfang and Dayshine never existed, or should I kill both of them in RP, or should we say they left the Clan to be loners for unknown reasons? The latter two options would allow me to pick a new deputy from the warriors already in the Clan and probably cause a little bit of drama, but the first option would allow someone to post a form on the sign up thread to be deputy and not affect the plot all that much.

And Songbird of SwiftClan: The assessment will probably last until just before sunhigh, when they'll meet at the starting place and Bearpaw will show off his catches and the verdict will be made. I think I forgot to make Silverstar say that.... Oops.

IC: Silverstar padded after Bearpaw at a distance, careful not to do anything that might scare ff the prey, especially the rabbits. As most of the territory was moors, rabbits were a big prey source and Bearpaw was bound to want to catch one at some point to prove he could. They were fast, after all.

Lightningwhisker weaved through the heather, scenting the air. While he walked, he talked to Sorrelpaw in a decently quiet voice. "So, Sorrelpaw, what do we have to remember about rabbits when hunting them?" He glanced over his shoulder at his eager apprentice.

  • (lol its okay he just needed something to think about. And they should be loners)

Bearpaw scented the air and smiled, he just got a whiff of rabbit and soon enough, he saw the brown fur of one of the unexacting rabbits and began to stalk it.

Cinderfur started pacing, she was bored and it's not like she could go on a walk because she could start kitting any moment.

  • OOC: One loner and one dead because dramaaaaa lol.

IC: Sorrelpaw blinked. "They'll... hear you first, right? Also they're pretty strong and fast so you have to be careful about catching them," she meowed. She sniffed, scenting for the brown prey in the area. The soft scent of the heather floated around her and she flicked an ear.

Rowanfang sat in the nursery, Spottedkit at her paws. Her stomach rumbled hungrily and she blinked at the freshkill pile. Sighing, she turned and curled back up around her kit. One of the apprentices would bring something in eventually. Spottedkit, at one and a half moons, was still too small to be eating solid food and running around crazy.

Dandelionface trotted into camp and dropped his catch on the freshkill pile before settling near the edge of camp. He glanced over at the medicine cat den, ears pricked, wondering how Coppermask and Pantherpaw were getting on. The cream tabby wanted to check, but they were probably busy, so he yawned and began to groom his fur.

    IC

Coppermask glanced around for some kind of exit. The feeling of being trapped was primal, tense, and energy surged through his limbs causing his tail to thrash against the wall painfully. But aren't you a meidcine cat? he asked himself. Looking up into Nightfeather's face and seeing her damaged eye, his nervousness began to fade and be replaced by duty. If the she-cat was having a problem, then it was his proud duty to relinquish her of her pain, just how he and the medicine cat before him had learned. He needed to set an example for Pantherpaw, and as these words flashed through his mind, he stopped shaking and stood proudly, his chest puffed up.

"No, I haven't eaten yet," replied Mistyfall, setting he crow and field mouse at her paws. She glanced longing at the prey pile before turning back to Brambleflame. "Do you want to eat with me?" She smiled and her light grey eyes beemed happily.

  • A grin split the tom's maw as he mewed, "Sure! What's your favorite?" Brackenflame started to pad towards the yummy-smelling pile, glancing backwards to check if Mistyfall would responded.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=; background:url(http://i57.tinypic.com/1hzeat.png); opacity: 1.72;; border-top: 5px double black; border-left: 5px double black; border-bottom: 5px double black; border-right: 5px double black; overflow: auto; width: 400px; height: 580px; border-radius: 10px; box-shadow: 3px 3px 3px 3px #1C2C35;]

Mistyfall walked beside the tom, her silver and grey tail waving in the wind behind her. Her ears perked at his question. She'd never really thought about what her favorite prey was since she didn't really pick favorites very often. She thought of the process of choosing one thing over another very unfair towards herself due to the fact she preferred trying new things over the quality of old, but if she did have to pick something, she had been quite favorable of the the white hares she often used to catch for herself as an apprentice. "I like rabbits, I guess," she mewed, her eyes upcast towards the sky and voice high in contemplation.

  • OOC: Alrighty, what if Dayshine, who was going out on patrol, bumps into Rustfang and scares off her prey, so they start to tussle, but unfortunately Rustfang pushes Dayshine down and he cracks his head open on a rock, killing him nearly instantaneously. She runs off, never to be seen again...

Does that sound good? Please, if anyone has any other ideas, let me know. I'm all ears! I can always put up a poll with everything so everyone can vote.

IC: Silverstar noted the change in Bearpaw's stance and knew he'd spotted something. She crouched low in the heather, almost holding her breath as she watched him, because she didn't want to care off his prey. Her tailtip wanted to flick but she held it still to avoid rustling the plants.

Lightningwhisker nodded. "Exactly. You have to be very, very quiet when hunting rabbits, which is why it almost always ends in a chase." He caught the scent of one, and flicked his tail to indicate that Sorrelpaw should follow him. He began to slink through the heather, searching for the prey.

Pantherpaw noticed the change in her mentor's demeanor and stepped back to watch him. She glanced from his face to Nightfeather's. Would Coppermask finally speak, explain to her what was wrong and how to fix it? Her eyes began to look almost excited.

  • Beaerpaw stalked the rabbit, getting just a few inches away. He stood still then got ready to pounce and BOOM! he caught it with one swift motion. He stood and looked at the kill in astonishment for a second then gathered his three things of prey and headed farther into the meadow.

The nervousness remained at the back of his mind even though courage surged through his pelt and fur. He didn't dare speak above a whisper, but he also wouldn't hesitate to assist his comrade. "A-a-" he gulped in and air and raised his eyes hesitantly to Nighteye's single optic. "Are y-ou alr-right?" He felt like such an idiot saying those words, but with years of zero socialization, his already lacking skills had become dull like a claws of an elder. He at least hoped the she-cat understood his inquiry after her health. He had really meant to ask what she needed help with, afterall.

  • Sorrelpaw nodded, stalking after her mentor. Soon the scent of rabbit diffused around her and her ears pricked as she looked around for its location. She picked up the pace to stay right on her mentor's tail, eyes wide and excited.
