  • Felix looked at Teresa as though she had just grown another head, "Well...we did...or rather, I did...but now it's just a hole in the ground." The soldier paused for a moment, remembering the 'exterminates' ringing throughout the air, the firing of guns and the dying shrieks of the brave men and women around him... Felix had run...he'd run so far and so fast that by the time he'd gotten a safe distance away, the base was already gone. Shaking himself out of the living nightmare, he turned back to Teresa Smith, "I do have a warehouse though, not too far from here. It's got weapons and food and water...only enough for a few days though."

Jennifer leaped down from a fence and landed on her feet next to her backpack. Picking it up, she flung it over her back and started to walk towards another city. That city was suppose to have a check point where any survivors could hide from warfare. Most likely it was already checked out, but going over there to see wouldn't hurt. It would be what The Doctor would want.

  • Teresa thought this over. She needed somewhere to take refuge. Her home had been destroyed a week before by Daleks, and now all Tess could do was run. This Felix was the first person she'd met since the terrible disaster. And he was a soldier...sort of. He had a place where Tess could survive for just a night at least, and then head off to the checkpoint in the city beyond. There, Teresa could improve her fighting skills and surely win against the evil aliens attacking the planet. "May I stay there?" she asked Felix. "Only for one night."

  • Teresa followed him, on the lookout for any threats. She silently thanked God that there weren't any Weeping Angels in this part of the world. It was getting dark and a weeping angel's presence would be a nasty encounter. She was silent all the way, sometimes getting lost in memories. She often got lost in her memories ever since the Daleks' destruction of her home. Perhaps it was an emotional battle scar that Teresa would never heal from. But Tess was strong - she knew she could cope, and live in her loved ones memories.

Eventually, she spotted the warehouse, her heart skipping a beat. She would rest easy, at least for one night.

Upon entering the city, Jennifer felt a bit of a cold chill hit her. She felt as if something was watching her, but decided to ignore it. At lest she didn't hear any Daleks or Cybermen. The sound of a shotgun nearby made her jump because it was rare to hear them be used.

Shotguns rung out through the darkness. Every time they went off, it seemed as if another man was shoot down by an alien.
"Stop it! If they continue to fire those weapons, you might as well as jump out and let yourselves be killed. Those aliens are not going to stop because you kill one of them," I hissed at the commander.
He shook his head, "If we don't fight, they will kill everything."
"You're helping them to do that job a lot faster! If you get your men to hide and help others, there is a better chance of survival! Please," I begged.

"Why didn't they listen?" Jennifer thought to herself. She noticed a figure laying on the ground. It looked like an Ood. She ran over and bent down next to the body. It's eyes were closed and the orb that took place of it's brain seemed to have rolled out of it's hand from the impact of hitting the ground.
She touched the side of the alien's face, "I'm sorry that you had to die like this. Maybe if The Doctor was still around, none of this would have happened."

  • With some effort, Felix pushed the massive sliding door of the warehouse open. The rusty metal creaked and groaned into the night, echoing down the street of the ghost town neighborhood. Wincing slightly, the soldier hurried the woman, Teresa Smith, inside and did his best to pull the door shut. It groaned once more, sending its squeaks down the street once more. Deciding against making any more racket, Felix Kimball left the door as it was, slightly ajar, with a view of the road quite accessible.

Removing his helmet, the young soldier let his curly, brown hair fall down by his blue eyes, and set it on one of the many pallets that adjourned the warehouse. Felix glanced at Teresa, it was strange...that out of everyone in this desolate world, two of the Doctor's...well, friends, had saved one another. He smiled slightly, so the Doctor was still playing his tricks...his remedies, around Earth, even now. Setting his weapons beside his helmet, Felix snagged a blanket from its pile and held it out to Teresa.

  • "Oh, thank you," Teresa whispered, taking the blanket and wrapping around her shoulders. She stopped herself. "Oh, I've forgotten my manners. Being alone for so long does that to a person. What is your name?"

  • Felix smiled kindly at Teresa Smith, "Felix. Felix Kimball. And you're welcome." Brushing a stray curly out of his face, Felix headed towards a table, made of pallets, near the center of the warehouse, and turned one of the flashlights on to illuminate the dark building. Dark enough to sleep comfortably, but bright enough to see what was happening around you.

  • Teresa cleared a spot on the ground and lay there, wrapping the blanket around herself. It was a bit small, but better a small blanket than no blanket at all. She headed into one of her memories, about to drift off to sleep. Just before she crashed, she told Felix, "You may wake me up...few hours...I'll watch. Thank -" but her soft snores cut her off, and Tess was dreaming.

Jennifer examined the body to see a knife wound. She stood up and began to walk down the street. A human life form had to have killed the Ood. The other aliens, that were on Earth at the time, wouldn't attack in that manner. Weeping angels could, but the ones that she knew did it differently.

"Jennifer," his warning sounded soft, "Whatever you do... Don't blink."
I focused on the angel's hands, "I thought that you said it sends people back into time."
"I did," the voice said as whoever it came from tried to open a locked door.
"Then why," I began, "Is it holding a knife in a strange way?"
Silence before he replied, "Listen to me. I promise that I will get you out of there. Just don't blink. Okay?"
I let out a breath, "Okay. I believe you and always will."

The young adult stopped at a warehouse. It seemed as if it was used recently. Jennifer crept closer and examined the door. It appeared to be slightly open. She straightened herself and breathed out. Something was inside the checkpoint zone. It was either humans or aliens.
She didn't want to risk opening the door to be attacked by something, "Hello? Is anyone in there that can prove that they're human?"

  • Teresa was beginning to wakeup to another person's voice. She opened her eyes to find a girl, huddled up, knees against her chest. I had no idea someone else was here. Tess followed the girl's eyes to a figure standing in the crack of the doorway. Tess stood up, throwing the blanket off of her. That figure could be anything from an ood to a weeping angel. "Nobody blink!" Teresa cried out with fear and fury, staring intently at the figure. But Teresa suddenly noticed that the figure was breathing. Weeping angels were stone, and stones don't breathe. And if it was an ood, the eyes would be glowing red and a glowing white orb would light the darkness. The figure was a human.

  • Felix narrowed his eyes, grabbing his pistol and moving forwards to meet the girl at the front of the warehouse. He knew that the main threat on Earth were the aliens, but with the absence of law, human sere just as dangerous.
"Who are you?" he snapped in a slightly harsh manner. Teresa he had saved, while this girl seemed to have no fear stumbling into a warehouse and looking inside. If she wasn't alone...well, Felix wasn't sure what would happen then.

"Jennifer," she answered, "Jennifer Holly Peterson. I use to be a companion of The Doctor. I'm on a journey to a certain place. I was stopping by one of the checkpoints in this city."
She let out another breath, "I don't want to fight anyone. There's been to many deaths so you don't need to worry if I'm going to hurt you and anyone else that may be in there."
