    OOC: This takes place on what I call Pawprint Island, the island featured in the video game Petz Dogz 2.


    Summary: Nightheart has since died, but Malcolm has also been killed in a recent New Moon Battle(a battle that occurs if a Full Moon Howl is interrupted), and Full Moon Howls have gone on without interruption. Leaf is the new Lava Pool leader with Turbo as his deputy.

    IC: Life was going on as usual in the Lava Pool Pack. Doug played with Brindle, Splash came in with Coal, Feather and Boulder from a hunting patrol. Boulder was struggling with a Komodo Dragon he'd caught for his final assessment. How far he and his sister Buffy had come from the scared Police dog pups they'd been when their parents, Ada and Ambrose brought them in for protection!

    IC: "I take it Boulder passed his assessment?" Leaf asked, meeting the patrol. Splash, Boulder's mentor, nodded. "Buffy took down a Cavern Cobra, Boulder caught this Komodo Dragon. Turbo went off into our part of the Crystal Caverns to test Buffy himself." as the last words left the silver Lab's mouth, the Pack deputy cmd in with the little Border Collie behind him. Buffy's eyes shone and a limp snake dangled from her mouth. "Cool! I caught a Komodo Dragon." her littermate said, waving his tail at his catch.

"Boulder, Buffy, do you both promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Pack, even at the cost of your life?" "I do." Buffy was hesitant, while Boulder's voice was strong. "Then may you fight for this Pack as fiercely as any warrior." Leaf rested his muzzle on Buffy's head, and she licked his shoulder. The same thing happened with Boulder. "Buffy! Boulder! Buffy Boulder!" the Pack howled.
