I look at Lydia but sit down anyway. I am a bit unconformable at first. Watching the pups play brought back memories of my own pup-hood. I shudder. None of my memories were happy ones.

I take a breath and turn around. "I said I was..." I stop myself. Here goes everything. "I don't mind you being a jerk, you're a guy but it's just that I love you," since we're best friends it sounds like I said it in a friend kinda way. I turn around having little hope that are friendship will carry on after this. I mentally kick myself. My stomach is doing turns and I forget about getting shoes.
