  • [fancypost bgcolor= none; border: none; overflow: auto; width: 200px;][justify][color=white][sub]"I know that Catmint causes a mind-altered state. Is there any way to prevent getting high while using the herb to heal? Or do medics just hold it away from themselves when they use it?" she asked softly, tilting her head to the side.

  • It smelled awfully good, the catmint.
It was used to get cats high, though, and for medical purposes such as the well known whitecough and green cough. She wondered how you'd use it on a cat. Would the patient eat the leaves? Or something else? She'd find out later, now she was gathering herbs.

But others who are just hold their breath, pretty much. If it's difficult for those in the medicine den to be around it I simply put the stock somewhere else." She turned towards Az, "Yes, but remember to leave some."

  • [sub]Minnie sighed. She wished that she'd asked that, it was a fantastic question. The fae shrugged nonchalantly. She glanced back at the older apprentice, and gave her an encouraging smile. She didn't want to show jealousy. Minnie flicked her tail absently. She surveyed the crowd as Glitchmob answered. Ah, okay. The femme nodded, and placed the marigold by her feet. She stood up and started to hunt for catnip, sniffing the ground as she went.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;]He listened to her explanation. He could definitely smell it, but he had a strong enough willpower and resolve not to start rolling around in it and start getting high. That would be embarrassing. Nodding at her given permission, he gently plucked the leaves, placing them in a neat pile next to him.

As there seemed to be plenty of the catmint there, Azurekit decided to finally grab a shoot of it just so he had something to carry. Otherwise he was just uselessly there.
Not that that is any different from what's normal. With a tiny bundle in his maw he turned to take his place under Hya once again, Genevieve cooing encouragingly on his back.

  • [fancypost bgcolor= none; border: none; overflow: auto; width: 200px;][justify][color=white][sub]that made sense. The painted dog nodded thoughtfully. "That makes sense." she murmured, allowing a soft smile to form on her lips. "would you like me to pick some?" she inquired. She didn't think she'd be too affected by the plant, especially if she didn't breathe heavily or anything like that.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid transparent; width: 400px; font-size: 15px; font-family: georgia][justify]Thousandlies picked a few stems, deciding that she'd give them to Glitchmob later. It was always good to be helpful. Shapeshifting into her hyena body (which had a satchel around it's side), she put the marigold and catmint in the bag.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;]He had a question, as well. Maybe it sounded stupid to others, but he was curious. "Besides catmint, does anything help help heal greencough?" he asked the Medicine Cat, turning to face here and gathering his herbs in a small pile.

[align=center][fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 320px; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia; font-size: 9pt; margin-top: -12pt;]"No, that's alright we have plenty now." Glitchmob stood back up and began to walk again.
"Tansy helps. It cures coughs and soothes sore throats. It can also cure wounds and poison."
"Thyme grows best in the sun, I've learned, so we need to find a meadow." The marlot closed her eyes for a brief second, visualizing a map of the territory in her mind.
"This way." She pointed a paw to the east. Once at the meadow, she glanced around for a thyme plant -- which was as tall as her. "There's some time at the other side, and some other herbs that look like it. Bring back the thyme."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;]Wow, tansy has a lot of uses. Nodding and grabbing his bundle in his jaws, he sat it down nearby a small willow tree and listened to the Medicine Cat intently before running behind his girlfriend to find the herb.

  • [fancypost bgcolor= none; border: none; overflow: auto; width: 200px;][justify][color=white][sub]The wild dog nodded in understanding. It would be pointless to pick all of the plant. then there wouldn't be any left to grow. she listened as glitchmob explained the uses of tansy. When she asked them to find it, she furrowed her brow thoughtfully before padding off to find the herb.

[font=comic sans ms][size=8][color=white]Luke tilted his head to the side, hmm, he missed a ton of stuff, why had his mind wandered? Whatever, here he was now. Flicking his tail the pink pawed male waited for Glitchyo to say something else.

  • [sub]Oh, okay. Minnie nodded and started walking in the other direction. She sighed. Okay, thyme. Strong tangy scent. She had that down. The feline smirked slightly, then bounded ahead. She was going to get this herb and bring it back to her clanmates. She opened her mouth and tasted the air once she had picked up a scent similar to the powerful smell. It was fainter, but oh well. She trotted ahead for a bit until she found a sunny spot. She lowered her head and sniffed the ground. There had to be some in here.

Totting his tiny bundle of catmint along the tiny kitten paused to hand it to his hawk when Glitchmob spoke of another herb. Across the meadow.
His stomach sunk down, filled with black water. The very idea of leaving the safety of the others to cross such a large mass of land made his fur prickle with unease.
But thyme was there, and he couldn't just drag his paws here. He wanted to get some of it, to at least pay back the medicine cat for having bothered her so badly before.
That was his goal now. To make Glitchmob not be mad at him, for despite the fact she didn't seem to care about it one way or another, Azurekit felt she held a vindiction against him. He needed to fix it.

The tiny point murmured a quick I'll be back. to his fledgling friend as he passed on the catmint to her to hold.

Facing the vast field he inhaled sharply through his nose, braced himself, and the inward struggle began. The tom kit willed his legs to move and they obeyed though he had to continually force himself to keep going out of terror. The unknown was out there, who knows what lay beyond the field, but by focusing enough on just making his legs cooperate he arrived at the bushel of herbs faster than he expected.
    Now which one was thyme.
He nosed the plants, the tiny cross-shaped leaves adorning the long stem. They all looked so similar. It had a powerful smell, strong like pine needles but tangy like something citrus. The kitten neatly dipped his head to bite a small section of the stem so he could carry his little collection of thyme leaves back without getting the taste burnt to his tongue.

I did it. He'd walked the meadow alone. And nothing had hurt him. Or eaten him. His skin flushed hot beneath pale ashen fur. Was it selfish to be a little proud of that?

  • "I've heard that chickweed is a nice substitute for catmint, and can cure green cough and white cough," Clockpup yapped, following. Thyme was the best herb, in her opinion. It smelled good, it was calming, and it had a super cool name.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 16px; text-align: justify;]There was a dry patch of earth where grass could not grow due to the intense sunlight upon it. However, there were four leave clovers among other things. Since he really only had one eye, he had to rely on his nose and other sense to get him through this. He sniffed the ground, scenting that hinted sharp smell of thyme.

It was a green plant, right? It looked like clovers, but he could be wrong. Pulling up a stem, he sniffed it deeply and smiled to himself. There we are. This was thyme, he assumed. He ran back to Glitch and placed it at her paws.

  • [fancypost bgcolor= none; border: none; overflow: auto; width: 200px;][justify][color=white][sub]The wild dog sniffed around, hoping to find some of the herb. She smelled something tangy and pungent, and came to the plant. It seemed to be tansy. She sure hoped so. Oakenpaw gently picked the plant and carried it towards Glitchmob. Even if it wasn't tansy, at least she tried. Upon reaching the medicine cat, she set down the herb. "This is tansy, right?" she asked, cocking her head to the side. "I don't know exactly what it smells or looks like, but I think this is it..."

  • [sub]Minnie grinned as she found it. It was a tall plant. She should've noticed it earlier. She inwardly cursed herself. She wasn't as cautious as it seemed, and being alert was very important outside of camp. Minnie stripped a couple leaves by accident, then she frowned. Instead, she broke off a couple snippets of it. Yeah, that'd do. The fae bounded back to Glitch, her happiness making her giggle. She lashed her tail, then sat down. "Isth this it?" She asked, her words muffled as she responded.
