    Lexi shook her head "I'm fine" she had a hand on her rib that was broken when she was younger

    "A nightmare that was a memory" she said softly, her hood covering her tearstained face

    Devin didn't know what to do to calm her or reassure her. The best he could do was just be there for her. "I'm here," he breathed, "if you need to talk."

    He nodded with a small smile.(let's mix it up a little lol) He had been about to say something when a familiar darkness crept into his blood. His eyes searched the gloom outside the window. Movement to the left. Not an animal, but a person. Devin felt cold all of a sudden, as though the heat from the fireplace wasn't doing it's job. More movement. Devin swallowed as the familiar fear dragged at him.

    Devin narrowed his eyes as the person moved toward the door. "My Biter," he hissed softly as the door opened slowly. Standing in the doorway was a cloaked figure, though it was a man by his scent. "Hello, Devin," he cooed, watching the young blood with crimson eyes. Devin didn't answer. In fact, Devin didn't look too happy to see the Vampire who has turned him. "I see you were quick to replace Riley." Devin stood abruptly from the bed, a snarl upon his face. "No one can replace Riley," he growled. His fists were in tight balls, as though he was trying to keep the savage within caged.

    "Hey we don't want any trouble, just go away and nothing bad will happen" lexi said her face in shadows but her tone sounded menacing

    "That's good that you don't want trouble," said the Biter, removing his glove from one of his hands. "I just stopped by to...see how my protege was doing." Devin dipped his head down, his bangs falling into his eyes. "Get out of here," he snarled, shaking. The Biter shrugged and turned to the door. "You really shouldn't be without a Clan," he purred, setting a folder on the table nearest the door, replacing his glove onto his hand. "Find yourself a Clan, or risk being hunted."


    Devin looked up. "Hunted?" The Biter nodded solemnly. "There have been reports going around our world," he began. "That there are a few humans who don't take kindly to us. They've formed a group called the Virtuous Brotherhood. They hunt our kind, day and night. Though, they only seem to go after lone vampires, those without a Clan." He nodded toward the folder. "That folder contains a list of well-known Clans that act as a safe haven for young Vampires. Choose one and join. You'll find being in a group is a lot safer than being on your own." He rubbed at a scar that was barely visible above his cloak's collar. "That's been my experience." With that, he left as quickly as he had arrived, shutting the door silently.


    Devin picked up the folder and sank back into the bed, just staring at it for what seemed like forever.(my usual monologue lol)

    (Yea, as we get further in here, you'll find I can monologue quite a bit lol)

    Devin watched his newfound friend before opening the folder. "Clans don't sound that bad," he breathed softly, reading each Clan name and the current leader of each. After he had read the first page, he went over to hi bed 's nightstand and placed it by the lamp.

    "No I don't trust others that well nor do I get along with other vampires" lexi said
