  • She nodded, gently poking the tweezers in. It was nearly unpredictable exactly where the bullet went. Ears straining for light clinking of the metal. Another pause went by. "I could have handled it you know.." That probably wasn't true on many different levels but she couldn't help but to say it.

  • "not the way it was pointed," rai replied quietly. her watched her dig around, wincing a bit as some of the pain set in. okay... ow. he blinked a few more times, then offered a small smile. "besides. i've been shot before. nothing big... i'll survive..." i always survive...

  • The girl caught hold of the bullet with her metal extensions, carefully removing it from inside of him. She placed the two items on the towel. "What.. What do you mean?"

  • "about what?" he asked, looking at the bullet. he could still feel other pieces of metal in his chest, but he ignored them. they didn't hurt. "the way the gun was pointed? if it was shot, if would have gone through your frontal lobe and hit your brain stem, killing you almost instantly. me surviving? doesn't matter."

  • Jean gave a nod, deciding not to investigate further and sat next next to him on the white couch. There was yet another stretch of silence. "Did you ever play the disk..?" She murmured, she stared at the fluffed round carpet on the ground separating them from the television set.

  • rai looked at her, then shrugged a bit. "no. i haven't had the chance. i've been... busy," he said simply, looking off to her door, away from her. he contemplated putting his shirt back on, but he was too lazy to get back up, and he doesn't like putting on wet clothes. feels weird... she wouldn't mind, right?

  • "..Oh." Her face seemed to sink slightly. "Do you mind me asking your last name?" She tucked her legs up and underneath of herself, she propped up her chin on her hand, wondering if he was even human, or possibly how old he was.

  • rai looked over at her, inwardly cringing at her defeated look. well damn. he gulped lightly, then looked at the floor. he doubted it mattered, but either way, he shrugged. "maximillion..."

  • Jean gave a small nod. "Do you.." She stopped, she wasn't sure why. "Have any suggestions on what to do for the rest of the night..?" She stared at her hads, doing the odd counting thing with her fingers out of an enduring habit, ironically to break another habit.

  • rai looked at her, then shrugged. "um..." he said quietly, then bit on his lip and forced a small smile. "i... don't really know, to be honest..." he chuckled nervously.

  • Jean gave a smile. "What types of movies do you like?" She said, glancing to the television then back at Rai. Her mind scanned through her inventory of movies, also trying to recall recently released ones that could be rented digitally.

  • rai blinked. woah. okay. this was happening. he gulped and smiled a bit. "horror... actually..." he said quietly, then bit on the inside of his cheek. "not many people actually share my interest in movies, though..."

  • "I have some old horrors.. I think I might have one or two new ones on the storage." She said, pointing towards the television. She bit her lip, surfing her mind for the different movies of that genre.

  • "we don't have to watch horror if you don't want to..." he said quickly, not wanting to make her do anything she didn't want to do.

  • "N-no. I don't mind.." Jean picked up the black clad remote from the floor, clicking the red power button. "I-if you want we can rent a movie." She said, going to the on demand section of the cable box. The average overhead male voice advertising for different movies. She clicked into the horror section and handed him the remote.

  • rai bit on his cheek again. dammit... he was feeling like a burden now. he looked away from her and looked down at the ground near the door. if she didn't want to watch a horror movie, he didn't want to make her... he gulped quietly and rubbed his hair lightly. "are you sure? i don't to make you do anything you don't want to do."

  • "We can compromise with a horror-thriller." Jean said, flicking her wrist."go ahead and pick one." She plopped back on the couch, her calfskin hanging off the end and her head just a few inches away from his closest leg. "I don't mind horrors, I just wanna watch something."

  • Now he felt really bad. The man picked up the remote and selected a random movie, his eyes glazing over. The only feeling rivaling the pain of lonliness was being a burden. She should have just let him go home and tend to his own wounds. He looked at the ground, placing the remote on the coffee table silently, forcing himself not to blush from the fact that he could move his leg slightly and touch her head.

  • She turned her head, watching the beginning credits with a small smile, tucking one arm behind her chest. Only then did she realize she was still wearing the torn clothing. She let out a small sigh, deciding not to change at that moment.

  • Rai rolled his bottom lip against his teeth, staring at the movie screen but not exactly hearing what the people were saying. He didn't even know the title of the movie, but from the monotonic sounding dialogue, he could tell it was going to be cheesy. Great.
