"I would love to have a race, but not while we are on an important mission." Sky replied with a smirk, the thought of racing once again causing him to chuckle.

"Exactly, that's why I said maybe after." She folded her wings up, adjusting the brown bag hanging over her shoulder and resting against her side. "Let's continue going, then."
-
Nodding a simple reply, Sky continued the march down the trail. After a few minutes of walking, the two ponies finally reached the tunnel leading into the hillside.
"It's going to be too dangerous to go in there. We would have no place to go if a train were to come by." Sky pointed out, stopping a few feet away from the darkened tunnel. Looking down toward the base of the hill, the stallion could not see another path.
"We are gonna have to go off the path to get around this tunnel." Sky explained.
-
"And I'm guessing that would be that path?" Mint asked him, gritting her teeth impatiently and walking in a circle. "Because if it is, let's go. I need to deliver this to Canterlot, and...." She trailed off, unsure of what else to say and looking embarrassed. "Never mind."
-
"And? Do you have somewhere to be after this? Another message to deliver?" Sky asked as he began trotting away from the rails and toward the sides of the tunnel. Though the land slopped downward steeply, there was just enough room for somepony to walk along the edge. This was where they would cross. Hopefully it would be like this all the way to the end.Carefully placing one hoof in front of the other, Sky began shimmying along the ledge as he tried his best not to look down.
-
"No, not really." She muttered something incomprehensible, spreading her wings and taking off from where she was, shooting past Sky. "See you on the other side!"
-
ooc~ wait never mind I should probably fix that post
-
Crap, I totally looked past that factor... Let's just pretend the wind is too much for them to be able to fly safely. -
ooc~ I also realized that mistake once I had posted it, and yeah sure
-
Would it still be your turn to reply or should I continue? -
ooc~ either one is fine
-
Alright, I will continue.IC: With every cautious step, several loose rocks fell down the hill, gathering more and more dust and rocks as it made it's journey toward the bottom of the cliff.
"Be careful, it can get pretty tight up ahead." Sky called back to Mint, his voice drowned by the roaring wind coming from above.
-
"I'm coming after you, okay?" She called after him, her voice nearly lost in the wind as she squinted to make out his shape, flapping her wings once she did but not leaving and flying into the tunnel just in case it was unsafe. "I mean, is it safe to?"
-
"As long as you watch your hoof-steps, it's okay!" Sky shouted back, stopping as he turned to face the mailmare. Even though what he said was true, it was still far too dangerous to cross at the same time. Since the snow had covered the hillside, several spots were filled with icy patches, making it slippery and easily broken away. One wrong step could lead to one of them falling down the steep incline below, tumbling through fields of snow before coming to a rest at the bottom. A fall from this height is survivable, but the trek back is what Sky is worried about. Not only was the journey already long, if one of them were to fall, it would make the journey twice as long. They needed to get this message to Celestia, even if it meant being reckless and quick.
-
"Alright!" Mint yelled back to him, keeping a eye on her hooves as she slowly began to walk along the hillside area, trying to not feel panic and flee. "Just taking my time."
-
"That's good. Take as much time as you need. Don't rush it." Sky spoke softly, as if he was putting all of his concentration into his balance. With every step the stallion took, a gripping feeling of fear rested inside him, making his heart beat skyrocket.Sky had managed to make it half way before Mint had begun, making the distance between them massive. If one of them were to fall, the other would be no where near the pony that is falling to save them.
Instead of continuing ahead, Sky took a moment to rest and wait for Mint to catch up.
-
"I'm not rushing it, Sky." she snapped, fear causing her to stop and close her eyes, opening them a few moments later, as they gleamed a dark mint color. "Just.... if one of us falls, it's not safe to fly, correct?"
-
"The wind will be too strong for any of us two to fly to save the other. It would be safer to fall with them." Sky answered, even though he did not like his own answer. It was true, though. If one of them were to fall, flying would be out of a the question. With wind like this, it would be impossible to control the direction of flight. As soon as their hooves left the cliff side, the wind would push them into the wall with the force of a train.
-
"I know that." Mint clenched her teeth, finally making it to him a few moments later. "Look, I'm trying to not panic, but it's kind of hard. Let's just get out of here."
-
Nodding in reply, Sky continued along the narrow patch, carefully placing one hoof in front of the other. One clumsy mistake would lead to slipping, which would lead to falling, which would lead to lost time and injury.A slight shiver ran down the stallion's spine as a chunk of ice slipped from underneath his hoof. He quickly reacted, however, removing his hoof from the block of ice before it began it's decent toward the ground. Letting out a sigh of relief, Sky glanced back to check if Mint was alright.
