The young apprentice had been trapped in this body for a week now, but it didn't make it much easier to deal with. The silver tabby was now walking around, his face displaying a look of slight discomfort, and was singing the Circle of Life, down by Shimmer Lake.
How he knew this song was unknown to him, but it was comforting, so he sang. "From the day we arrive on the planet," he began, starting the song over. "And blinking, step into the sun." Gaining courage now, the tom increased his volume. While the pitch of Dreampaw's lilting, spirited voice had plummeted, the way his music carried across wherever he was at the moment had not changed.
"There's more to be seen than can ever be seen, more to do than can ever be done." Dreampaw gave a frown. The song had been uplifting the first few times, but by now, he had repeated it so many times it simply hadn't held the uplifting quality it had once possessed.
Furrowing his brow, the silver tabby pondered over what song he should sing next. Mentally deciding he would sing the song Wings, he began. "My mom told me not to waste my life, she said spread your wings my little butterfly," Dreampaw sang this with renewed vigour, right away transitioning into the liveliness of the song. "Don't let what they say, keep you up at night!"
Swinging his tail, Dreampaw finished the last phrase of the first two lines of the song. "And if they give you shhh, then they can walk on by-y-y!"
Dreampaw giggled a bit. The song sounded so strange in this new deep voice he now had. But it still sounded good, he supposed. It wasn't out of tune. It was just.. a bit lower-pitched than he remembered. Giving another chuckle at the oddity of his situation, he was struck with an idea. Perhaps he could have a karaoke? It would be fun, and cats could sing all sorts of songs.
"Does anyone want to sing with me?" the tom asked. It came out a bit louder than he had initially intended it to, but that was probably to her benefit. "It'll be fun?" he offered.[/fancypost]
