  • Daniel watched as students filtered into the library, laden with art supplies. They set up as he sat and watched, chatting happily away with one another.

  • The ate teacher brought order to the students to discuss a few of the rules while they were painting in here: be sure to paint only the walls and be careful not to paint anywhere else, keep their voices down, they were in a library after all, and a few other things. Then, the students got to work.

  • Gwen was indeed helping out with the students, laughing and talking with them. She glanced up for a moment, catching Daniel's eye and throwing a smile his way before turning back to the mural, whose outline was beginning to take form.

  • Daniel pretended not to notice as he watched the outline take form on the wall. Already, the wall was starting to come to life.

  • The students worked for around two hours, and then most if their parents came up to pick them up. Gwen and the art teacher were left to clean up the library.

  • Daniel helped them to clean up, tossing used brushes into cups of water and rolling up the tarp protecting the floor beneath the mural from stray paint. The library was quiet and empty, the hum of the A/C in the background.

  • Once the library was done, the art teacher left, thanking Gwen and Danial for helping to clean up. As the teacher left, Gwen started to look around in the library. "I never realized there was such a diverse collection of books here," she commented. "If I'd known I would've come in here more often."
