He chuckled, watching the Dragon flutter to the shaded grass. "Stay out of the sun," he warned the shadow. It made a sound like blah blah blah. "I'm Aspin," he said to the Fox. "I got the nickname Shadow because of....that little guy." He said, nodding toward the shadow Dragon.[/glow]

  • Bry giggled at the silly little shadow, following it around but being careful as to not step on it.
"Brylee" she croaked, seeing as a fox doesn't use human vocals, it was hard to talk. "S'cuze me.." she rasped, running behind the tree and shifting back into her human form, trying but failing to muffle her whimpers and yelps of pain as her bone structure readjusted.
She came back around the tree in her human form and sat in the grass, trailing her finger behind the shadow dragon. "Ehh... hi. I'm Bry." she said shyly.

He nodded a greeting, watching the shadow try and catch the new finger. "Play nice," he warned his shadow Dragon before it could bite her. "Nice to meet you, Bryly."[/glow]

  • She giggled at the tiny but fierce shadow dragon, smiling softly. "You too." She pulled her black, torn-up hoodie over her head, shielding her pale face from his view. She then recalled her brother and Adam and stood up quickly. "Oh my god! I-I'm sorry I-" she stopped as she saw them, walking ahead of her towards the dorms. "Nevermind..." she mumbled, her face heating up in embarrassment as she sat down again.

  • She looked down at the grass, plucking up stems of it. "I-I was walking with my brother and his friend, but I got distracted and came over here... I'd forgot about them and I thought.. but they're going back to the dorms, so.. it's okay." She murmured quietly, glancing up at him occasionally. She then realized something. "Oh god, if I'm bothering you, I-I can go..." she babbled quickly.

"No," he said quickly. "I....enjoy the company." He added with a smile. What was this fluffy feeling inside of his chest, making it hard to breathe? He'd never felt it before.[/glow]

  • Bry smiled shyly at his comment and pulled the stings on her jacket, tightening the hood around her face to hide her awful smile. She thought her toothy grin made her look stupid.
She looked up at the grey sky, no clouds, yet the sky was painted grey. She loved it this way. Brylee flopped onto her back, staring up at the sky contently.

  • She looked over at him. Bry sighed, shutting her eyes and letting out a shaky breath. "'Cause I'm ugly." she whispered. She believed it whole-heartedly.
She turned her face back to the sky, letting the pale light bathe her face.

  • She snappe her eyes open, staring at him with wide-eyes. "You know, I hate when people lie to make me feel better." She grumbled, sitting up and facing him. "By the way; you don't look hideous right now, so I'm sure your angry side can't be that bad..." She whispered, training her eyes on the shadow.

He chuckled. "I'm dead serious," he looked over at her, his eerie green eyes narrowing slightly. "Trust me. When I get angry, all hell breaks loose."[/glow]

  • "It's okay. I live with someone whocan magnetize things, I think I'm okay. Once, Slant and I got into an argument, and I was stuck to the ceiling for six days." She chuckled, glancing at him. However, her gaze lingered when she saw his green eyes. She stared blankly at them.

He grinned softly at her. "That is kind of funny," he chuckled. The shadow Dragon squealed and ran up Aspin's arm, making the teen chuckle. "When did you first find out you were....a fox? When did you first come here?"[/glow]

  • She snapped from her staring and blinked a couple times. "Oh, I'm not a fox. I can shapeshift into small animals." She said quietly, which is her general tone. "I found that out when I was twelve and I accidentally shifted into a kitten in class." Bry chuckled at the memory. "I just came here this year. What about you?"

He nodded and thought back. "I was sixteen when I discovered my ability," he began. "Turns out, my father was what was called a Shadow Miser. They were, and probably still are, thought of as evil. I found this out when I followed the shadows to an old abandoned castle. Father taught me of my ability and I embraced it, becoming sort of a rebel because mom had lied to me. From sixteen to eighteen I was able to hide it until....some bully at my old school got me so mad that.....every shadow took shape into something and they kind of destroyed half the cafeteria. When mom got the call that her son was a Shadow Miser, she sent me here. That was tenth grade. I'll be here for another year."

He sounded relieved not to be with his mom anymore.[/glow]

  • Brylee nodded. "Wow. Slant and I may be forced to stay here for the rest of high school, since we live by ourselves and we take online schooling." She said thoughtfully. After saying that, she decided something. "Hey. Will you be my friend? I don't have any." She whispered, staring at the grey sky above her.

He gave a small smile and nodded. "Yea," he rumbled softly, looking up at the sky. Then he looked to her shadow shifted. He held out a hand and began to make a motion that looked like a dance. A small shape formed from the shadow and yawned. It was a Shadow ferret and it climbed into Eric's arms before sitting on his knee, looking at Bry with interest.[/glow]

  • Bru smiled and looked over to him, only to find a new shadow had formed. She sat up and reached out her finger, staring at it with interest. "How does it work?" She inquired, looking at the shadow happily.
