Scarlett picked up her phone and sat on the couch. She went to her contacts and texted Jessica. Hey can you spend the summer at my place? My parents are gone for the summer. she typed. She slouched down and she closed her eyes, the sound of the TV blurred when she heard it.

Her phone rang and she picked it up, reading the text. Is now a good time? she replied before setting her phone down again and closing her eyes. She was tired from last night when she helped her parents pack up.
