  • You opened the door to the house you shared with Dirk. "Strider! Get your aass down here! I'm home!" You yelled.

Dirk ran down the stairs. "[Name]!" He said pulling you into a hug. You winced. "Woah! Is something wrong?" He asked.

"Sunburn." You said with a grimace. You had been at the beach for a week and had left the sunscreen at home.

    "Let me see." He said.

"It's on my back. You'll have to take off my shirt to see all of it. Hope you don't mind." You smirked, it wasn't like he hadn't seen you with your shirt off plenty of times before.

"Of course not [name]." He replied, smirking just as much.

You lifted your arms over your head and he gently pulled your shirt off. Despite his gentle touch, it still hurt as the [f/c] fabric slid over the damaged skin. The stoic Strider's face showed no emotion as usual, but you could feel him tense slightly with worry as he looked at the burn. It was a brighter red than his younger brother's eyes, you'd guess it was a second degree burn.

"Holy shiit [name]! How did you manage to get that?! Did you not put on any sunscreen at all?" He asked.

"Actually yes. I left it here." He was going to be pissed now.

"Striders never get sunburnt." He said dissaprovingly.

"Good thing I'm not a Strider then, isn't it." You said.

"Who says you're not?! Was it Dave? I'll kill that fuucker-" Dirk said angrily.

He took that way more seriously than you were expecting. "Relax Dirk, I said it. I'm not actually a Strider. You know that." You sighed inwardly. You really wanted to be a Strider. You loved Dirk more than anything, and it already felt like Dave was your little brother too. But that just wasn't the case.

"Well then I'll have to make you one." Dirk took off his shades. God his stunning orange irises left you breathless every time you looked into them. He took a deep breath and took a small box out of his pocket. He opened it. Inside was a ring. "[Name], I fuucking love you more than anything in the world. Will you be my wife?"

You were speechless for a moment. This was happening. "Yes. Holy shiit yes, Dirk." You stood on tiptoe and kissed him. Then he slipped the ring onto your finger. "So, I guess I'm not allowed to get sunburnt from here on out." You teased.

He slipped his shades back on. "Nah. The sun'll just ignore you. It knows not to mess with a Strider." He smirked. "Now let's get some lotion on that sunburn." He picked you up and tossed you over his shoulder, heading upstairs to his room.

"Uh, Dirk? This isn't the way to the lotion." You said.

"Relax [name], I know what I'm doing." He was smirking. You couldn't see his face but god he was smirking, you could tell.
