Apparently, there is criminal corruption in the C.I.A and the F.B.I and the government is working feverishly to get this under control and get to the bottom of it. Even worst yet, the file also contained similar secrets about there intelligence agencies around the world! But the real question that is ringing in everyone's mind is who was the man or woman that leaked the files?" Ajax, smug in his accomplishments sat idly on the couch, feet propped up on the coffee table in front of him. He watched the pandemonium playing out on the news. With government officials being arrested left and right, the American people were beginning to question if there was anyone in the government who wasn't a criminal. Even the president was under scrutiny. Similar things were happening in Asia and Europe, and other such areas. He was wanted by every intelligence agency in the world. Nowhere was safe for him. At least his identity was unknown, so it saved him some time. But if he was figured out -- if he was found -- where would he go? He wouldn't be able to go anywhere unless it was on some uncharted island. Otherwise, the world was a trap. Worst yet, he hadn't done this out of the good of his heart. He wasn't a fool. He's always known that the government couldn't be trusted. Everyone in the federal government were hypocrites, liars, assassins, and cheaters. That was how the world was. So he didn't care. But in leaking this information, he had gained a sort of upper hand. A sense of power. It made him feel like the fate of the most important intelligence agencies around the world were in his hands and it felt good. He was no longer a pawn to the government. The government was his pawn; and he had them under checkmate. And with everyone trying to figure out who was corrupt and who wasn't, this let other minor criminals get an upper hand. Drug cartels, thieves, exotic animal trades, et cetera. They were booming. No one trusted their own government now, so while everyone was pointing fingers, criminals were able to sneak under the radar. Including him. His cellphone rang and he tentatively picked it up. It was his mother. "Mum?" "Oh my gosh, Ajax! I've been trying to call you for days! Where have you been? You heard about the government conspiracies, right?" Ajax chuckled at his mother's hysteria. It was a pity that he couldn't even tell his own mother the truth. "Of course, ma. It's all over the news. Who hasn't heard about it?" He heard a loud banging at his apartment door and he immediately went into action. "Hey mom, I've got a date I'm about to be late to. I gotta go." At least by telling his mother he was meeting a girl, she wouldn't be worried about him. "Oh? Tell me the details when you get back!" "Of course, mum. Love you, bye." When he hung up, he heard another loud bang at the door. "FBI, open up!" With a curse, Ajax ran into his room, closed the door and barricaded it with dressers and other furniture. He then opened his bedroom window and climbed up unto the fire escape. He closed the window back, just to confuse the officials and hastily ran down the fire escape steps. Once he reached the alleyway a few stories beneath his apartment room, he began running toward the car garage. He didn't have his own car. It was too much of a risk, so he had ditched it days ago. He had to steal someone else's car and maybe he'd get out of here without being caught. |
