This Is No Game (Sword Art Online) [Jump in]

    Jake Baron remembered when Sword Art Online, a full-dive VRMMO made for the Nerve Gear system, had been announced. He had been so eager to get it that he was one of the first people to pre-order the revolutionary game. Little did he know, once he was logged in, there was no getting out.

    "I still can't believe it..." Jake sighed, running his hand through his short brown hair. Just two days ago he and thousands of other players had logged into this "game" only to discover that there was no way to log out. Then there was that message from the game's creator, Akihiko Kayaba, saying that there was no escape.

    Name: Fallow Thorphaven
    Age: 16
    Gender: Female

    Personality: loves cooking, fighting and improving on her skills, she prefers to be alone due to the fact that she finds silence calming. She is skilled with a sword due to her part time job in To, she works for a blacksmith and test out his swords. Fierce while in battle she suffers from a rare form of amnesia, if her blood pressure gets to high she will forget a couple hours of her life.

    Name: Ilia Howard
    Age: Almost 15

    Personality: Fiery and adventurous on her own, but very cold towards others. She cares only for her own and her brother's survival. She was raised in a rich family, and is used to getting what she wants, so don't expect her to ask nicely for something. Over time, if you bother to get to know her, she does in fact have a sweet side, but views it as a weakness and so hides it. Less strategic then her brother but still smart, it was she who convinced Ivan to leave the first town early on to gain levels.
    Other: She borrowed her mother's name for her username.
    Weapon(s) of choice: Small, light swords, such as rapiers, she's not very strong but is agile, so a few quick jabs before jumping back and dodging is her specialty. She does not carry a shield.



    Name: Ivan Howard
    Age: Almost 15
    Gender: Male
    Appearance: Can you imagine this guy just a bit younger?
    Personality: More laid back then Ilia, however he's still cold towards people other then his sister. He prefers to stay away from large fights if he can avoid it, however in the event that he gets dragged into one he tries to stay two or three steps ahead of his opponent. He won't hesitate to accept help, even if he doesn't think he needs it, and if he thinks he owes you something, he'll be sure to pay you back. He's a fast learner, and easily fits in, he thought it would be better to get a job in town rather then try to actually clear the game (Ilia half convinced him otherwise, though he still has no interest in the front lines). He's also fairly okay at cooking, though is by no means the best.
    Other: He borrowed his father's name for his username.
    Weapon(s) of choice: He's fairly good with a bow, and tamed a dire wolf early on that can scan and heal, so between him, Ilia, and Gleam (the dire wolf) they have both close and long range covered, as well as healing. He carries a shield, but doesn't often use it.


    Is it alright to submit two characters? Hope so... Anyway, they're twins, if you haven't figured it out. Sorry the pictures aren't exactly SAO-ish, I couldn't quite find what I was looking for with them, so I got the closest thing I could...

    ic: Jake walked solemnly on the road leading to the next town. Only two days had passed and he had already lost track of his two friends, one of which had convinced him to get SAO in the first place.


    He pulled out his sword, a pretty generic steel sword, and swung it around a few times. He was still getting the hang on full-dive combat, but someone, probably a beta tester, had given him some tips after he had helped fight off a pack of wolves.


    "What does Kayaba want with us?" Jake wondered, sliding his sword back in its sheath on his belt.

    IC: "Ilia, give me and Gleam a chance to fight. Your stats are high compared to ours, how am I supposed to hold my own in a fight if I haven't even leveled up?" Ivan complained. They were training in the fields just before the second town. "Please Ivan, you said yourself that you had no intention of fighting, so what good would the experience do you?" "It's because of Gleam and I that you don't have to carry a shield, you really want that freedom taken?" Ilia huffed, slicing through a boar, "Fine. But don't blame me if it kills you." Ivan smirked, taking aim with the bow they'd bought in town, "Don't worry. I'm not reckless like you, remember?"

    Personality: she is a kind-hearted person whom always tries to help those in need. she is obsessed with building armor and when she is not helping others she is working on her armor forging skill.

    (OPTIONAL)History: she was a beta tester and got her brother hooked on the game. she travels her her brother leveling up along side him and practicing her armor making skills and collecting col so she could open up her own business.

    Personality: Karter is just like his sister except he is more of the cooking and weapons forging type.

    (OPTIONAL)History: his sister told him about the game when she was a bets tester now he travels with her leveling up his power to practicing his skills as they go. he also cooks for the two of them given that his sister is not really that into cooking.

    I know I'm not the creator, but I can't see the picture, could you put a link? I like to know what my fellow characters look like... and wow, looking at your signature, you've seen like, every anime I've ever watched, and more. Very cool.

    ooc: Both OCs are accepted! Two things, though: One, I don't know if it's just my PC, but I'm not seeing either of the pictures; two, it looks like you may have accidentally left Karter's personality segment unfinished. It was cut off saying "He and-".

    Name: Kuroneko (Last name unknown) / Amachi Kaname
    Age: 21 / 28
    Gender: Female / Male
    Personality: Kuroneko is an excitable a girl with a strange love for tapioca. Though outgoing, and possibly the friendliest person you will meet, she's easily embarrassed when asked something personal.(Personal as in what colour panties she's wearing or some strange thing like that) She becomes obsessed over things rather quickly depending on what it is and loves to find people interested in what she's interested in. Kuroneko has been playing videogames ever since she was a little kid, and Amachi has said that Kuro is the best gamer he's met... But her modesty chooses to deny his opinion. / Amachi is a friendly soul who enjoys the company of friends. He's seen smiling a lot and is always trying to cheer up those who have given up. Even though Amachi hates to see his friends leave or die, he's quick to get over the fact they're gone, which usually raises suspicions in a group, causing people to wonder if he's really as kindhearted as he appears. He is fascinated with the word "bloomers" which causes him to call pretty much any type of underwear "bloomers" unless asking the question "What? Do you not like bloomers..? Ah... You're more of a panties person I'm guessing.."
    Other: Kuroneko's voice is deep, and her chest is flatter than what is shown in the picture above, which causes people to mistake her gender. / Much like his companion, Amachi has also been mistaken as a different gender, due to his voice. It's incapable for him to use a 'man' voice and when he tries, it's extremely uncomfortable.
    (Basically Kuroneko has a teenage boy's voice and Amachi has a woman's voice.)
    Weapon(s) of choice: Dual Daggers / A small blade, usually used for sneak attacks.

    no problem. and the anime's that I have seen are the result of passion and having nothing to do, not to mention they are all amazing I recommend them all.)


    Fairy Fire marched along beside her brother to the next town on the first floor. it felt good being back here since she was a beta tester before this. Although it was still traumatizing to thing that once you die in the game you die in real life. Now she felt bad that she dragged her brother into this situation. she shook her head to clear it and calm down she knew that worrying would not help her situation but keeping calm might.


    Karter Jewel was close beside his twin sister. he knew by the look on her face she had thoughts racing through her head. she probably felt sorry to have dragged him into the chaos but he didn't care much at all. All he knew is that he had to live for the hope of seeing his family once again and protect others from their deaths.


    The two of them soon arrived in town but did end up frighting a few boars on their way there. thanks to Fairy Fire they made it there alive and in one piece.

    ic: Jake grimaced as another boar de-materialized before his blade. He knew these were just digital creatures that would respawn but with every boar he killed, all he could think of is that next time it could be him or another player de-materializing. For good.


    He shivered and shook the dark thought from his head as yet another boar charged at him from the side of the road. He raised his wooden buckler and readied his sword. The boar struck, crashing against his shield. He grunted as he pushed back, throwing the animal away just far enough for him to strike it with a power attack. The boar squealed and froze just before exploding into a rainbow of pixelated shards.

    IC: Finishing off the boar, Ivan looked up at a figure fighting a few hundred meters away. Ilia followed his gaze, "Looks like we might have some company soon." She said in annoyance. Ivan sighed, "Ilia, you do realize that if you plan to survive this, you'll have to learn to get along with others right?" "But I do get along with others!" Ilia retorted, "I get along with you!" Ivan just shook his head and sighed again.


    OOC: Welcome TheShippingQueen! And Asuna, you have a familiar too? What kind is it? EDIT: Oh yeah, the person they see is supposed to be Jake, I should have made that clearer. Is that alright?
