[tt]The Camelot

A state-of-the-art space station, built to house the representatives of the planets that make up the Confederation. Each planet sends one representative and one general, and they vote on matters, from political agendas to battle strategies.
The Confederation was formed 100 years ago, and the opening of the Camelot is supposed to usher in a new wave of peace and prosperity. But when you put a dozen members of conflicting cultures inside a spaceship, something will go wrong. The only question is when.

Noa Haminatu of Taldera, Representative

Noa stood in front of one of the windows on the Camelot, gazing out at the stars. They were quite beautiful, but far different than the stars of her home planet. She had not yet adjusted to Camelot time, as it had only opened yesterday, and so she had been up for a little while. She wondered if any of the other members of this strange new place had encountered the same problem.
She sighed, but then straightened. There was no use in moping when she could be doing something productive. Like finding the blasted kitchens...
Her stomach rumbled at that thought, and she scowled at it before striding down the hall. Her robes swished about her with elegance and poise she worked very hard to achieve. Being one of the youngest members on the Council also meant she was subject to a lot of criticism, but if she gave them nothing to criticize, all the problems would be solved.
She sighed again, inwardly. Suns, she missed home. At home it wouldn't matter if she went into work in her pajamas, for she was usually the only one there, and she trusted the others there enough to be relaxed about them.
But here... She had almost no one to trust. Shaking the depressing thoughts from her head, she continued walking, slipping a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she did so. As she rounded the next corner in her search for the kitchens, she collided with someone, falling to the ground with the force of the impact.

Bartlet Jonpoon of Cress, Guardsman of the Camelot

Barry leaned against a wall, bored. When he'd applied to the job they had made it sound exciting, meeting peoples of the other planets of the Confederation, wearing a handsome uniform, eating unrivaled food. But here he was, stuck in a hallway, with nothing to do but play games on his airscreen.
He didn't even have a buddy to talk to. Gah. He ran a hand through his hair as he shifted positions on the wall. His band-new spandex suit that was much too tight for comfort squeaked noisily every time he moved. Or maybe he was just imagining it. The silent hallway allowed him to hear often unnoticed things, but he was starting to be convinced he'd imagined half of them.
Turning around, he leaned his head on the wall, and stared down at the carpet below. Next time he was off duty, he was getting a permanent marker and drawing on here. No one ever came down here anyways.
At least, not yet. Maybe it was something important. Maybe those doors at the end of the hallway were the doors to the council room. The first Council meeting was today... He puffed up with pride at that thought, all the Council members going by, seeing a fancy pancy guard in a fancy pancy, albiet tight, suit. He grinned.

• Tracking also...

Will be inactive completely tomorrow and Wednesday because we're going on a plane..

Luke Graymark of Ika, General

It was odd to see the stars, but also incredible. There was so much space, almost too much, and not a leaf in sight. The federation had tried to make him feel at home by painting the walls of his room like the landscape of his planet, however the stench of paint overrode the homey attempt. Everything was clean, shiny, and technologically advanced. From the light switches to the showers, it was techie this and techie that.
Luke was used to living in a place where the smell of earth was everywhere, and here, in the spanking new Camelot, it seemed cold and uncomfortable. The only comfort were the clothes he brought from home. Nothing but incineration could separate the scent of earth and foliage fromthe fabric, which was a relief. It also helped that they'd allowed him to bring a few plants from his planet to place around his quarters, making them feel much more livable.
Out of the clean, shiny, inorganic passageways, there was silence. Every once in a while, a maid or attendant would hustle past, eager to serve their new charges. However it seemed that everyone else was content to sleep away their first day on board. Luke, however, was hungry, and as everyone had a different circadian rhythm, the federation had not set a schedule yet. It would take time to adjust. Pretty much, this meant that anyone who wanted to do anything would have to figure out how to do it themselves, or beg a passing member of the staff for directions. Choosing the latter, as it was the most practical way to save time and energy, Luke asked a passing attendant where the kitchens were. The mousy woman pointed down a passageway, and he nodded before eagerly heading down that hall. As he came to an intersection of the passage, he turned to go left when something slammed into him, sending him flying back several steps.
"What the..." He rolled his shoulder in an attempt to ease the ache from the collision. Glancing down, he saw that a woman had crashed into him, and that he'd unknowingly knocked her down.
"Ahhh.... sorry about that." He said apologetically, offering a hand to help her up. "I have a habit of rushing down busy hallways without looking." He grinned in spite of himself, as they were the only two people in the hall.

• Eli lounged in the chair set before the floor-to-ceiling window that showed off the vast nothingness that was space. The stars glittered calmly and instilled upon Eli a sense of peace. But, that was soon disturbed by the cold chill that shivered down his spine. Climbing aboard the Camelot had been quite the adventure, but he could not stand the temperatures that kept the guests in the floating mass content. Well, all the guests but himself. Eli was used to the dry heat of his home planet. Even being dug under the surface in caves didn't lower the temperature too much.
Eli groaned and leaned his head back on the chair so his gaze was transferred to the high ceilings of his room. The floor and ceiling were both a dark obsidian in color to match the rocky surface of Qixim. His room was kept at a higher temperature than the rest of Camelot, but it was still much cooler than he was used to. Despite their attempts at making his room seem as much like his home as they could, he still couldn't get over the fact it was an imposter.
Eli stood up and ran a hand through his dark hair, then strode towards his door. A meeting was scheduled soon, and he figured he might as well familiarize himself with the place before it began. He opened his door and peeked either way down the hall before stepping out and closing his door quietly behind him. Eli took off at a slow gait down the hallway while his eyes travelled over the walls and floor. Curiosity burned in his light eyes as he explored.

Ferris scurried through the hallways with harried look in her eye. It was odd to see the girl so rattled, but with a meeting beginning soon, she had to prepare everything quickly and efficiently. A small sigh escaped her lips as she finally slowed to a casual walk. The cooks would handle the food and drinks, so if that wasn't done, she could not be blamed. She pulled on her braid and mentally ran through the list of things she needed to do.
Ferris muttered quietly and lowered her eyes, trying to recall everything. She didn't care one way or another if the others didn't complete their work. But, she needed to get her tasks completed. And, with a sly grin, she believed she had finished her work. She let out a small laugh and happily stretched her arms high above her head. She quieted and looked around with mild embarrassment to make sure no one had witnessed her small outburst.

Noa Haminatu of Taldera, Representative

"Ah, I am at fault as well." She said, accepting the hand up, then brushing herself off, as if expecting to find sand, like there was on her home planet. "I was not looking where I was going." Her Common was accented, but not too heavily.
It seemed she would need to be more careful in these almost claustrophobic (for her) halls. On Taldera, you could see almost everything for miles, only the occasional mountain range or oasis breaking up the sea of sand.
She noticed he was touching his shoulder. "I'm sorry, did I hurt you?" She asked. This was not a good way to start off her first day among the other Council members, as this man surely was, based on his clothing. She hadn't figured out quite who he was yet, but probably either Olmafi or Ika.

Bartlet Jonpoon of Cress, Guardsman of the Camelot

He was bored again, and seriously reconsidering the drawing on the walls plan. But then, in one of the nearby hallways, he heard something skin to laughter.
Raising an eyebrow, he went to investigate, and found only a maid standing there. He recognized her vaguely, as all of the staff had been introduced at one time or another, before the big shots got on board. Her name started with an F, right?
"Hey!" He called, smile on his face. Nobody would miss him at his post for just a couple minutes. "What's the joke?"

• Ferris, sure that no one had heard her brief lapse of control, began to shuffled down the hallway once more. But, then, a voice sounded behind her. She froze and turned, eyes wide at having been caught. "Oh, uh, there isn't one. I just got excited." Ferris held her head high so as to keep her pride in check. She hated others seeing her like that. She preferred to be thought of as a serious and mature lady. Though, that was hard with her youthful looks. Ferris narrowed her eyes slightly. "Aren't you working security?" She asked as she recognized the hair. She was sure of it. He was a security guard. "Aren't you supposed to be, uh, guarding something?" She asked, biting the inside of her cheek.

Luke Graymark of Ika, General

Luke laughed at her words, "I am totally alright, I hope I didn't hurt you. I'm afraid I'm not used to this atmosphere, as I'm sure you aren't either." It was true. The shiny walls and furnishings of Camelot distracted him. There was too much conformity, to many shiny surfaces and more than enough space to move around. It was all so unfamiliar.
By the woman's accent, he figured she was from Taldera, where everything was open, with very few confined spaces. Being on board Camelot must be even more difficult for her to get used to.
"My name is Luke Graymark, I'm the General from Ika." He said, by way of introduction. Although he had done his research on the different cultures before coming to Camelot, he hadn't yet learned the traditional greetings of the various peoples. Unsure what to do, he simply held out a hand in hopes that the movement would be understood and not taken to offense.

Noa Haminatu of Taldera, Representative

"That is quite true." She nodded, a tiny flicker of a smile on her face from his laughter. Accepting his hand with only a moment of pause, she returned the introduction, "Noa Haminatu. I'm the Representative of Taldera."
"Where were you off to in such a hurry?" She asked. Hopefully it wasn't the council meeting... Hopefully she wasn't going to miss the first day and make a bad impression... Her mind whirled with worries, but her face kept the tiny smile.

Bartlet Jonpoon of Cress, Guardsman of the Camelot

"Yes, well, technically." He said, rubbing the back of his neck like a kid who'd just been caught stealing out of the cookie jar. "But it's just a boring hallway, and you seem much nicer than a boring hallway."
He put on his most charming smile, hoping she wouldn't just say he's being a bore and leave him with the Hallway of Doom.

Coriolanus James, Representative of Olmafi

Representative James strolled down the hall, the perfect example of what a Council member should strive for. An intelligent gleam in his eye, perfectly combed hair and a wardrobe not a button out of place. In his hand he carried the first item of the agenda for today, one that would instate one of the Council members as the Prime Council Member, in other words, Emperor. He, the most experienced of the planetary delegates, would doubtless be elected to the position, from there on he would have almost unlimited power.
A hint of malice glinted through his eyes for a moment, but it was quickly replaced with his usual helpful-but-harmless-old-man act.

• [i]Coriolanus is from Olmafi, but Mitchell could still talk to him on behalf of the currently unmade Cress rep, so they could meet and talk. Sherlock's guy Eli is also open for a conversation, or you could join in on one of the two already started.
Everyone is still getting adjusted, so you could write about that. Everyone is also meeting each other, so an introduction works too. Your assassin can be sneaking around if you want. :)

• OOC Hey guys! I'm out of town and will be inactive for a day or two! Just wanted to let you know! - Olive (My nickname)

• Ferris snorted back a laugh, then attempted to regain her composure. "You may be surprised, then." She raised a pale eyebrow at the smile he offered her. She matched it with a small grin of her own, just enough that the corners of her mouth turned up slightly. "I don't think this hallway is too bad. At least it's clean." Ferris looked around with an assessing eye. It wasn't her job to keep the hallways tidy and neat, but it seemed whoever it was did a good job. She raised her blue eyes to the security guard once again. "I'm Ferris, by the way." Sure, they may work together, but she had no idea who he was, except for a vague recognition of his hair.

Luke Graymark of Ika, General

"It's nice to make your acquaintance." He nodded at her introduction, and noted at the slight shadow of worry that passed over her features before her expression of nonchalance covered it once more. "I was only looking for something to eat." He reassured her. "My last meal was when my representative and I were on our way here, and I'd been wondering whether they were planning on feeding us."
He gave a tiny smile to convey his joke. Noticing he was still touching her hand, he quickly withdrew his own and crossed his arms in front of him.
"May I ask what you were looking for in this labyrinth of a ship?" He asked, raising an eyebrow questioningly. As he spoke, he cast a quick glance down the hall from which she came, his keen sense of hearing picking up a flutter of voices from nearby.

Noa Haminatu of Taldera, Representative

At his joke, she huffed a laugh, and shook her head slightly. She blinked as she realized that their hands were still touching. He seemed to have realized this as well, and she blushed a bit, pulling her hands away to behind her back.
"You aren't alone, General Graymark, for they do not serve the Talderans first. I was also looking for the kitchen, and haven't found it yet." She shrugged slightly. "Do you know the way?"
Her talk was a bit formal, perhaps an effect from the years of practice in Common and courtesy she'd received.

Bartlet Jonpoon of Cress, Guardsman of the Camelot

"It's clean!" He threw his hands up in the air. "That makes it worse, there's not even anything for me to complain about later." He chuckled and shook his head. He looked up again as she introduced herself.
"Pretty name, Ferris. I'm the famous, or perhaps notorious, Bartlet. My friends call me Barry, so that's what you should call me." He smiled once more, glad that his assumption had proved right, and she was nicer than the hallway.

Luke Graymark of Ika, General

Luke smothered a grin at the slight coloring that filled her cheeks as she placed her hands behind her. "If I knew where the kitchens were, I wouldn't be wandering around as if someone had cut off my head, would I?" He asked rhetorically.
As she spoke, Luke studied her mannerisms; the gestures she used, the way she spoke. In Camelot, they all spoke the common tongue, however there were distinct differences in how each race used the language. Noa seemed to be much more formal, even more stiff, than what was common amongst his own race. However, he thought, they were all in a new environment. Things would most likely be very formal amongst the races for a while, as there always seemed to be tensions amongst the planets. This, however, was why Camelot had been created. A solution to the races' previous lack of diplomacy.
"Shall I suggest we combine our search?" He asked. He had taken on the Talderan's formal tone, however he gave her a small smile in an attempt to put her at ease.

• Ferris shook her head, a small smile on her lips. "Hm, I do believe I've heard of you before." She paused for a moment, her smile growing into a grin. "I also believe I was warned to stay away from you." She raised her eyebrows. She hadn't actually been warned, but Ferris felt she would enjoy taunting Barry, and this seemed like the best way to do it. She draped her arms over her chest while the grin from earlier finally faded.
