Coven laid down. On the way to here, she'd favored her leg that Denver had bit. She began licking it, cleaning away drying blood and bits of dirt.
"How long do you expect to be here?" she asked.

A she-dog from the Healing kennel raised her head at the sound of dogs entering the medics building. Flinching, the sorrel fae pulled herself onto her tender paws.
-
He pointed to the cage. It was very large, and it could fit about ten full sized spaniels. "See? We'll all be put in there together. And how long? That depends on your injuries. You'll probably be in here for about a week. As for me, I'm expecting a few weeks to a month."
-
Coven smiled again. Wow, twice in one day? You're going soft Cov,
"At least you'll be away from Denver." she answered. -
He frowned, hating being the smallest dog in the pound. "Yeah, at least."
-
"You ever wanna break out of here? Go to the streets?" she asked, staring out the high up window.
-
"Of course." He replied, following her gaze. "I think about it every day. But a little shrimp like me? I'd get torn apart in a day. Still, It sounds wonderful." He said, sighing.
-
Coven looked at him.
"You'd be safe if there was a pack." she said. -
"I thought packs were made of giant dogs who liked to kill stuff."
-
Coven snorted.
"Some are. I used to know this older dog who belonged to a pack. He said that the older and larger dogs would look out for the smaller and younger ones. They'd fight together and hunt together. He said it was like family." she said. -
"Do you think we could find them if we escaped together?" He asked looking to the bigger dog. This was different. He'd never talked to other dogs. Unless begging for your life counted as talking, of course.
-
"Probably. If not, we could always form our own if more of us got out." she answered.
-
"Who would help ME? I'm a mouse compared to everyone else here." He said, kicking the ground and making him squeel and hold his stomach. "That hurt."
-
"Oh, so you've already forgotten about me?" she said.
-
"N-No, of course I didn't!!!! I just thought you would want to escape on your own instead of with me!!! C-cause I wouldn't be able to help and stuff! Th-that's all, I promise!!! That's it! Promise! Please don't hurt me."
-
"Relax, I'm not like Denver. Besides, you're plenty useful. Since you're smaller than me, you can get into places that I can't." she said.
-
Hue beamed like nobody's ever seen him, as his tail began to wag like a motor. "You think I'm useful?!?"
-
"Of course. Every dog has his or her use. Except for Denver. He's just here to annoy the crap outta us." she said.
-
He smiled wider and nodded with exitement. This dog was nice.
-
"When do you think they're coming back?" she asked.
