Sorry I was just brushing my teeth and yes it's ok that she have earth natural force. Also I have some ideas for the obstacles on the journey they could encounter:
Big hole with monster underneath it (I know they could probably fly over)
Big river of lava
Crazy villainess (if you want I can make some villains that they could fight)
Lots of fog so they can't see and they could possibly fall into a hole
Creepy forest with strange monsters
Poisonous fruit in a scene if someone's really hungry they could eat it and get poisoned

How about this: by the time they all get back, Celestia and Luna have decided to fight to the death, one on one, but Celestia of all ponies decides to set up a trap for if she were to lose.
She has the magical equivalent of a NUCLEAR BOMB ready to be launched onto the battlefield should she die.
And during all this, Sombra uses the war to his advantage and escapes without being noticed.
