Sandkit let out a scream of terror. She could just imagine the amount of blood that was spilled on the forest floor.
Cloudkit leaned comfortingly against her friend.

Ferntail frowned. The kit screamed? She shook her head, thinking she was imagining it, and she lay her head down on her paws to drift off to sleep. HEr elderly tom mate lay his head on her neck, and then started snoring softly. Soulkit blinked, and curled up against Ferntail, since she didn't have a mother to look after her, she curled up against Ferntail. Ferntail opened one eye and saw the tiny she-kit, and purred. She curled her tail over Soulkit, and Soulkit eventually drifted off to sleep with Pebblekit. Whitekit and Blackkit stood, watching their friend, and then they turned to Sandkit.
'What'sup?' Whitekit asked.
-
"I-i was j-just imagining the blood that would be all o-over the p-place w-when t-the l-leader f-fought th-the f-f-fox," Sandkit sobbed.
-
Whitekit giggled. He rubbed his face against his friend's.
'It's only a story. There wasn't any blood, apparently.' He purred. 'The fox only scratched him once or twice. My mum told me this story before. She explained that there wasn't any blood. Only a few scratches and wounds.' he meowed, trying to be as soothing as he could. Blackkit mewled in agreement.
-
Sandkit relaxed. "Oh."
-
Whitekit giggled again, then looked around for his brother. He shrugged his shoulders when he couldn't find him, and the the other four-moon-old tom sprang on his brother's back. Whitekit gave a hiss of frustration as Blackkit chewed his left ear, and he then sprang up, throwing his bigger brother off of his back.
[b]'Betcha went to get some food from mummy? Mama's boy!' Whitekit poked an insult at his brother. Blackkit looked hurt, and then he toughened up.'Whatever, suck-up! Think you're all big!' he mewled back, literally aiming to shove the insult back down his throat.
'Kittypet Mouse-brain!' Whitekit spat. His fur bristled. He didn't like being sneaked up on, and the brother usually had irrelevant arguments.
'Go off and cry to Mother, baby!' Blackkit hissed malevolently.
'Go to the Dark Forest!' Whitekit jeered. Whitekit's language wasn't what you'd usually expect for a kit. 'Fox dung!'
'You're so dense! And mouse-brained!' Blackkit mocked. He was looking to win the argument, and so was his brother. Whitekit yowled, and went to claw his brother in frustration. Blackkit dodged and went to scratch Whitekit. Whitekit also dodged, the white tom-kit's fur standing on end. Blackkit was always relaxed in battles with his brother, despite being the suck-up to his parents.
-
Cloudkit was shocked by Whitekit and Blackkit's behavior. Sandkit said nothing, for she was still a bit traumatized by the story.
-
'You'd never be a warrior if you keep acting like this!' Blackkit mewed, and turned his back on Whitekit.
'Too weak to keep fighting? They wouldn't even let you be an apprentice!' Whitekit sneered, pouncing around, wanting to claw his brother's ear off. Blackkit looked round, and and grinned slyly.
'You think so?' He mewed.
'Yeah, I think so. They'd mistake you for a mouse and not give your apprentice name!' Whitekit taunted.
'Fox-dung.' Blackkit mewed to himself.
'You fight and argue like a little soft-hearted soft-mouthed kittypet!' Whitekit spat the last five words out.
'Stupid, weak, immature... Ugh!' Blackkit gave a disgusted smirk.
'Go on, go turn your back on me! A warrior never turns his back on an enemy!' Whitekit jeered.
-
Rainbowflight poked her head in at the commotion. "You'll never become warriors if you keep this up. You'll be in the medicine den for ages!" she joked. Cloudkit laughed, while Sandkit still sat motionless.
-
The kits' mother, Morningglory, had just come back from a hunting patrol in her spare time, and she looked angrily at her two kits. Whitekit had been pounced on by Blackkit, and Blackkit was trying to claw away at his brother, but Whitekit was clawing and nipping at him as well, and they cursed at each other in between spitting and hissing. Morningglory furiously padded over, and grabbed Blackkit harshly by the scruff and pulled him away from Whitekit. The brothers always did this. Fighting. Arguing.
'What did I tell you too about fighting and arguing?' She whispered viciously through her teeth. Blackkit shied away. He hated being told off. 'Well?' Morningglory's pale-ish golden fur glimmered. Her eyes flashed, and she was awaiting an answer.
'He started it!' Blackkit shrieked. Morningglory flicked her tail.
'Apparently, 'he' always starts it, heh?' She frowned and padded off to Whitekit. Whitekit shied away, waiting for a punishment. He actually did start it this time. He gulped, before mewling;
'Sorry Mother.' He shrieked the last word, and hid his face beneath his paws. He wasn't crying, but when Morningglory meant punishment, she'd give it all right.
-
Rainbowflight sighed. "Kits. You gotta love 'em." Cloudkit squeaked and jumped on her mother's back. "You love me the most, don't you?" she meowed. "Of course, Cloudkit, you're my daughter," Rainbowflight laughed.
-
Whitekit was surprised when Morningglory gave him a comforting lick on the forehead. Their mother did the same to Blackkit, and she trotted off a little way, plonking herself beside Rainbowflight. Soulkit had woken up from her nap with Ferntail, and made her way out of the elder's den. Soulkit rolled over with Pebblekit. She stroked the pebble with her paw, and purred. Whitekit and Blackkit turned their backs against each other, then Soulkit giggled when she realized they had been having a silly little quarrel again.
-
Sandkit sighed at the sight of Whitekit and Blackkit with their backs to each other.
-
Whitekit looked at Blackkit, and Blackkit looked at him, Morningglory watching from a distance, laying down next to Rainbowflight. The two brothers grinned, and then pounced at each other, only to clash heads.
-
Rainbowflight tried to refrain from laughing.
-
Morningglory burst out laughing. She then covered her mouth with her paw, still giggling. She was quiet an old queen, but she lovedher mate and kits.
-
Leafkit jumped on Morningglory.
-
Morningglory rolled over onto her back playfully pretending to be submissive, and chuckling. Her tail flew in all directions as the wind blew it, and Whitekit, Soulkit and Blackkit looked on, still playfighting with each other
-
Rainbowflight, being the younger queen, was unable to contain her laughter any longer. "Kits are just too cute! That's what makes them funny!"
-
Morningglory purred with laughter, but it grew distorted as she began to laugh. Soulkit had managed to escape the play-fight, and she scrambled over, and aimed to leap at Rainbowflight. Blackkit was curiously batting at Whitekit's ear, and then draped himself over his brother's back and began chewing his ear. Whitekit kicked him off, and Blackkit mewled in surprise as his brother rolle dover onto his back to get him off. Whitekit pounced on Blackkit, and the two kits scuffled around in the dust, still play-biting and fighting with each other.
