  • To say that the night was peaceful would be wrong, it was anything but. That was the least of Flute’s problems though; there were much more sinister forth-comings on the horizon. It was no secret that the little cub could very easily be scared and when that happened she liked to cuddle up to her brother, Blue, for protection and warmth because he had always made her feel safe in time of terror that came around frequently. When he had been made a trainee shaman however, things had changed a little because he did not sleep in the same den as her anymore which freaked her out a little. Rather a lot actually, nightmares ran repent through her mind every time the sun went down. Some nights she did not sleep but instead cowered in the corner of the shelter, trying not to wake the others. Mentally, it strained her but it happened so often that it just because second nature to expect it.
Upon this particular night a storm raged with full force. Fear struck her with a lightning bolt and the thunder rattled her bones as she quivered restlessly against the cold stone walls that proved to be no barrier to the torrents of rain pounding the outside but instead let drip, drip, drip fall upon her head as if to tease her. The leopardess waited the long moments between witnessing the violent flash and hearing the deafening rumble, barely able to breathe for a bloodcurdling screech she thought would be her last choked her unbearably. There was not much of this the youngster could take and with the next passing strike of thunder she found herself out with the nursery, exposed to the elements in search of the shamans den in the hope of sneaking in and cuddling up next to him. But with every bolt of StarClan’s rage the darkness seemed to grow deeper and more impenetrable. It was not hard for her to lose her way and through the black she stumbled with the rain never ceasing to hit her, dart after dart. By the time that she stopped her mindless dash she had come to a small cavern that at first she assumed was the den of the healers but once inside it was evidently not. Blue was not here. For a few moment the kit rested there, searching with her large ice-blue eyes for any sign of the camp but the night had swallowed it whole.
Not a long distance away a tree was stuck by the long white arm from the sky and within a moment came crashing down at the entrance, knocking loose the front potion and sealing the opening with the rubble. Flute was thrown out of the way and upon the back wall of the cave as any light that the lightning had provided was sapped totally with not much in the way of gap in the newly formed barricade. In short, she was trapped by a thick wall of stone. Separated from her clan completely. It took a few second for her to pick herself up from the dust floor, her fur heavy with rain water and head spinning from a concussion but the sudden realization hit her like a ton of bricks. There was no way out. To the door she rushed and screeched her hardest though whether she would be heard through the thick wall was another matter, trying to shift the boulders many times her size from their place by scratching on the side of them but without luck. It might be morning before any of the others realized she concluded. Then something came around her back paws. Water was flooding in and had already created a puddle by her feet. It seemed there was a spring in here of a sort. Time was not something that she had anymore but she could not help but question whether the others would find her before a fate of drowning did.

[justify][font=trebuchet ms][color=black] Blue's ears perked at her first screams. He had been ready to greet her at the entrance of the shamans den and tuck her under his paw protectively. The leopardess had not arrived and blue became panicked. Everyone he cared about was dying or going crazy or something and he wasn't handling it well. Then another scream came, Flutes.

    "Flute! Flute where are you!"

Blue was in a panic that was for sure. The husky found the cave eventually, he could hear Flute inside.

"shit!" Flute! Flute I'll get you out!"

The husky wasn't one to swear. This was out if character for the shaman trainee but this was his little sister here. He began to charge over and over again shoulder first into the rock trying to move it from the entrance. The stone cutting at his shoulder and bruising it from the amount of force he was using.

The fem came bounding over in her snow leopard body, she had heard the screams and was gathering a few things but when Blue took off she followed after him in her largest body that could also see. Rain, it was a b*tch. The fem growled and got a thick branch of the tree in her jaws, lurching and jerking her body backwards with it, moving it enough for the size of the husky as she rumbled "Hurry up Blue!"

[justify][font=trebuchet ms][color=black] He didn't need to be asked twice. The male squeezed through to find the water at his knees inside. he strode forward easily but his coat was certainly dragging him down. He made it to flute and aimed to sweep his sister up in his jaws.

  • The little leopardess continued to scratch and scream, hearing an identical noise coming from the other side of the stone wall and the voices of two people she knew. Pocketwatch and Blue, they always seemed to be the one to find her. But this time it seemed it might not be in in enough time. Flute had only had one swimming lesson and that was not a lot. No matter how hard she tried she just couldn't get enough power to fight the torrent of water coming in and soon not the energy either, especially as she was still feeling a little woozy from her bashed head. Nevertheless she continued to call out for her her brother and supposed sister as well then the wall broke and Blue scrambled through. At this point she was freezing cold, exhausted, sore and terrified, the water would have been over her head had she not done her best to keep herself afloat. But the husky jaws grabbed her by the scruff and she gave a weak squeak to her brother as she lay limply there, looking down at the deep, deep water below her.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; text-align: justify;][sub]"Oh!" came the astonished voice of Whitepaw as she padded up, blue optics wide and unbelieving. She rushed forward, dropping the supplies she had fetched. "Blue, do you need help?!" she called through the entrance he had disappeared into.

[justify][font=trebuchet ms][color=black] He didn't answer Whitepaw. He was to busy trying to get his sister out of the cave before they both drowned. Blue clambered back to the hole Po had created and nudged her through before squeezing himself through. As soon as he was through the hole he dragged her over to the driest spot he could find which was under a cliff. The ledges protecting the pair from the storm above. As soon as they were there he pulled his pale yellow scarf off and began rubbing her coat with it.

"Flute I'm here it's all okay"

He had a small scratch on his shoulder that was bleeding from trying to push the rock but at the moment that didn't bother him in the least. Nor the fact that he was also drenched and shivering. Instead he kept rubbing her down until he assumed her coat was mostly dry before he buried her in a hug. His paws engolfing the little leopard to his chest.

A snarl and loud snap could be hard as the fem let go of the branch, and of course she pupped her right shoulder out of place. With a dull look on her face she meowed "C'mon. Let's get home... I need someone to fix this shoulder." she growled. Children were so much trouble, yeah she was worried about Flute but damn! She couldn't stay inside while a raging storm was going on? And now they were all wet and her snow leopard body felt like absolute sh*t.

  • For a moment it just seemed to be all a daze, the little leopard just hung there, not moving or making a noise because she knew that her brother was close, she only shook and trembled involuntarily. When she was dropped down she half knew what was coming, Blue had done the same when they were at the beach and she had gotten a cold but now it was like her whole body was a giant quivering ice block. The scarf helped, not a lot but at least it got her dry and reassured but not as much as Blue bringing her close did. Very gently she started to paw his fur, whining a little at the sight of the injury on his shoulder. She couldn't help but feel a little guilty at effectively giving it to him by getting him to break into the cave, the las thing she wanted was for him to get hurt, him and pocket it seemed. Both had saved her.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; text-align: justify;][sub]"Do you want to lean on me?" Okay, that was stupid question, but Whitepaw was desperate to help in any way she could.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth= 0px; width: 250px;]

[justify][font=trebuchet ms][color=black] Blue nodded to Po and stood up glancing down at Flute.

"If you walk under me you won't get wet"

He offered a tired smile. He was currently shivering his ass off but as long as Flute was okay he wasn't going to say anything.

  • It was quite clear that everybody here was a little annoyed with her now or at very least not in the best of moods and she couldn't help but feel like folding inward on herself, even from Blue who was shriving badly just like her. On the one hand she felt terribly guilty for doing what she had done and running, how hard was it to find the shaman den? Really? Even through the dark and the rain, surely she could have found it had she been a little calmer? Was stupid of her for doing what she had done, stupid that she had been so scared? Most likely. That only made her feel worse. It would not be something she forgot though. Slowly, the little cub found her feet and stood, padding forward and under Blue in her normal placing under his chest though both of them were shaking terribly. Had she only been bigger she would have liked have been the one to shield him from the rain, show that she did not mean to get him hurt or cold but she couldn't and the youngster couldn't think of any other way to begin earning some sort of forgiveness by staying out of trouble. Doing as he said might be a good beginning she thought.
