    When fingers touched mine,instinct told me to reach out more.I slid my fingers closer to hers,until my palm was sliding over her's.I smiled slightly,my face reddening at the touch.

    I smiled at Dylan,breathing a little heavier than usual as my pulse quickened.Squeezing her hand,I blushed a bright scarlet,my green eyes looking away from her blue ones and back toward the stars.

    Dylan felt butterflies at Charlie blushing. She smiled, looking back up at the sky. A shooting star blazed above them, the light flashing down at them
    "Make a wish," she said.

    I smiled lightly,closing my eyes and wishing for eveything to be okay.That we could find my brother and rebuild America.And that Dylan would be there too,the entire way.I reopened my eyes,smiling at her.

    Dylan smiled back, wishing that she and Charlie would be able to find her brother and that she or anyone else would ever have to be alone again.

    I smiled to myself,closing my eyes as I began to doze off,my stomach no longer hungry and my life seeming happy.

    3 days later~


    The morning dawned bright and cold. The red sun peeked out from the trees, shining it's light right in Dylan's eyes. She sleepily sat up, yawning. She wanted to fall back asleep when she remembered they were leaving. They were going to find other people! She got up, careful not to wake Charlie and prepared a breakfast of a small bird that had wandered into a trap she had set near her camp.

    I stirred in my sleep,turning on my side as Dylan got up to make breakfast.It wasn't her that woke me up,but rather the scent of the bird that was cooking.Sniffing around,I lifted my head sleepily"What's that smell...?"I said curiously,before realizing that it was the bird.I widened my eyes at the thought of us leaving,the sleepiness leaving me almost immedietly at the thought.

    "Good morning, sunshine!" Dylan said in a singsongy voice, setting the bird on two plates. Okay, maybe not plates so much as two flat rocks. But still, same thing.

    I thought about the question for a small moment"We need to head south.If his objective is Kansas,that's where we need to start headed.For supplies purposes,he most likely went through big city ruins,looking for survivors and water and such.He's been gone for about six months,but he was more focusing on the trip rather than the destination.What should have been a three month trip is getting stretched into one year,if you hit all the big cities from here to Kansas.Let's move south and when we can either wait in Kansas for him to pass,or try his route and hit the cities.Your pick."I said,drawing a small sort of map of the United States in the dirt.
