"A cave?" Dylan asked. She had settled for a small shelter in lieu of an unoccupied cave she had never been able to find. This girl was smart.

"Yep, the entrance is at the base of a fallen tree, you can't even see it!" Fallow smiled fondly "and its decorated like home."
-
"Wow," Dyaln said, impressed, "Maybe, if you don't mind, I could see it sometime?"
Despite her instincts telling her that a stranger could mean trouble, she ached to talk to this girl more. It felt so good to talk to someone after so long. She couldn't imagine not seeing her again. The thought of it, to Dylan's surprise, actually hurt. -
"We could go their now if you would like, before night falls." Fallow suggested.
-
"Yeah, that sounds good, I just gotta grab some of my stuff so Animals don't loot it," Dylan said, standing up. She hurriedly threw her blanket, her falling apart winter coat, her second pair of socks, her pair of boots which she rarely wore, her boyfriends watch, the old, falling apart copy of Dombey and Son which her grandmother had given her, the small, partially torn family portrait she had, her winter reserves which were so scanty she wouldn't allow herself to dip into them until winter, her water bottle, and several pelts all wrapped up in her new blanket.
-
Fallow picked up her stuff and the remains of the bird "ready?"
-
"Yeah," Dylan said, slinging the bulging blanket over her shoulder.
-
"I also took a generator so we have electricity." Fallow said a She started to walk the way she came.
-
"Are…are you for real?" Dylan asked, aghast, "How did you get it all the way out here? Where did you get the fuel for it? Is this some kind of joke?"
-
"It was in the shack, it runs on a steam, so I light a fire, boils water, steam turns a turbine ,makes electricity." No not a joke "fallow grinned, seeing a fallen tree, nothing particularly different from the rest, she jumped down and pushed a root away, showing a large hole, fallow indicated for her to go inside.
(Ever seen the show "Amazing spaces"?)
-
(no, is it any good?)
Dylan stepped cautiously inside and her jaw dropped. Was this a dream? There was no way this was real and happening. She pinched herself on the arm and felt the pain. No, this was real.
"This place… this place it amazing," she said, turning to the girl, her cheeks burning. Dylan had thought she had been doing okay, but this girl was doing great. -
(It's brilliant.)
"Yeah well when you have nothing else to do, you start to tinker." Fallow said pulling the root back to cover the hole, she stuck the meat in the fridge as well as the other things she had caught.
-
Dylan bit her lip, her eyes subconsciously funning over Fallow's smooth features, her slender figure and the curves of her- What am I thinking? Dylan asked herself, mentally knocking sense back into herself.
"You're brilliant," she said, her cheeks reddening as she sat down on the floor. The cave was warm and had a homey feeling to it. -
"I try." fallaw laughed, leaning over to pick up a hammer.
-
"What's that for?" Dylan asked, shrinking away from the girl. Had Fallow brought her all the way to her cave to murder her with a hammer?
But no, that was crazy, right? But then again, there had to be a catch to all her generosity... -
"To finish building my couch." fallow explained, pointing to a bunch of crates.
(heres the chair: my profile image, but longer.)
-
"Oh," Dylan breathed a sigh of relief, visibly relaxing at the words. A couch. This girl…she could do anything, it seemed. The thought of going back to her own dismal camp made Dylan cringe, but the thought of staying in a comfortable cave with…Fallow made her stomach twist with hope. She wouldn't mind living with Fallow. She was pretty, and smart and…
-
"you can stay here if youd like??" fallow said, hoping she would stay. finishing the couch she pushed it into place.
-
"For how long?" Dylan asked. There had to be a catch. But no matter the catch, Dylan didn't care. She wanted to stay with the girl in her magnificent home.
-
"As long as you want." fallow smiled, feeling a warmth in her chest at her voice.
